      Speaking voice is a little on the heavy side at the low end for a tenor, but definitely has C5 in strong chest voice. Just from speaking voice, I would see him as a baritenor with a solid upper tenor register. In reality, this is the perfect balance of voice, in my opinion. Very similar vocal timbre to Plácido Domingo, who is a baritenor.

      @@johndeeregreen4592 Yes, maybe. However the speaking voice is always a bit tricky. Some people just speak with less/more volume than others and that affects to the perceived "center of the pitch". In this video Carlo speaks relatively softly so the pitch would be a bit lower. But he sounds like a typical tenor to me and in the other videos his singing voice is a classic light/lyric tenor(obviously i could be wrong)

    The great thing about this video is you can tell that he really demonstrates the psychology of the matter. He realises that the Top C isnt "high" per se, but rather in a state of ressonance which is "different". To think of the Top C as being "High" induces tensions. Really its thinking about it as being different and requiring a specific action from the lower body to allow it to become different. Thinking of it as high makes the singer feel as though theyre underneath it trying to push it into a space and keep it there. Really its a case of inhabiting the space first and then letting the voice go where it wants. This is so much of the battle.

    I have a look into your channel. I think you have some interesting material but there are many youtube videos regarding basic stuff for tenor. I think the most interesting part was hearing your renditions of Handel. Thus I think you can differentiate from other youtube stuff if you can build a basic repertoire for tenors that want to start singing opera. Maybe something more accessible to beginners than from C3 to C5. That I have not find in youtube and for all the self learning people searching for online advice it may have more value. So if you manage to make a beginners repertoire from C3 to F4 or something like that you may appeal to many more amateur tenors that are starting to sing. This is just a suggestion, in any case enjoy singing and good luck in your future!

    • @CARLOORLANDI1
      @CARLOORLANDI1  9 месяцев назад

      Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment! The strain will most likely come from a lack of support; in many cases, when your voice is strained, you may feel strangled in your high register; this can be solved by covering (darkening) the sound as well :) Please remember that this depends on what sound you ultimately want to achieve and the style of music you want to perform. I hope you find my answer helpful! ☺

    I'm supposedly a contralto, but I struggle so much to sing the C5 note in chest voice and so it makes me wonder if maybe I'm more of a bass or a baritone rather than a contralto, even though I'm a female! My vocal range has decreased over the past few years and it makes me really sad.

    • @CARLOORLANDI1
      @CARLOORLANDI1  Год назад +9

      Hi there, thank for your comment! if your vocal range is decreasing it might be due to a wrong technique for your voice, but it could also be for many other reasons, I would seek professional advise with a vocal teacher and have them hear you, so that they can find a reason for this decrease on your vocal range, but hopefully it's something that can be regained once discovered, and in regards to your voice type, I would need to hear you to really tell, and I know it may sound impossible, but there really are some female singers that have a baritone-like sound, although these voices are very rare and unique in its nature, let's not forget our voices are alive and in constant change, evolving through time ☺

Anyways, I hope to be able to sing Evanescence's Going Under once again in the future, at least in head voice lol

    • @LaChelleHood
      @LaChelleHood 11 месяцев назад +6

      Correct me if I'm wrong but you shouldn't be singing c5 in chest voice even if you were a soprano (even though I guess technically they could) around A4/Bb4/B4/C5(depending on your voice type I believe) you should be fully transitioned into mixed voice (which can still sound like chest voice if it's a more chest dominant mix)
      I'm supposedly a mezzo soprano and I struggle with c5 as well due to improper technique if that makes you feel any better (even though I really think sometimes that I may be a contralto that has been misclassified) If it's something that really bothers you I suggest voice lessons. It has helped me understand the things I'm doing that have been holding me back (tongue tension, unstable larynx,ect) Hope that helps!

    Hi Carlo, how to sing high notes without shouting?
    If I can only sing certain high notes by being loud does that mean that they're out of my range? If yes, can that be changed?
    Thanks!

    • @CARLOORLANDI1
      @CARLOORLANDI1  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment! I understand you meant singing high notes in piano or pianissimo? Meaning in low volume? If that is the case, then it is completely possible, but the support system needs to be different, stronger to be honest; even though the note is in low volume, it's still a high note, and when lowering the volume, if the support does not increase the sound will tend to drop. For the second question, if you are able to sing a note, it is within your range; you may just not know how to sing it using different voice dynamics, but this is something you learn by studying and practising. I hope you find my answer helpful! ☺

      Hi there! It depends. On a normal day, I would sing from an A2 to a High C (C5), but if I really want to push it, I could go from a G2 to an F#5 ( I recorded the F#5 in this video: ruclips.net/video/PZfezHuBOYo/видео.htmlsi=VXiGYSXuhCnZzged ). Once, I even managed to sing an A#5. I hope you find my answer helpful!

    • @CARLOORLANDI1
      @CARLOORLANDI1  Год назад +5

      That’s great, it’s good to know how to use the voice in different ways using different techniques, in singing sometimes using the full voice is required and sometimes it’s not adequate for the piece of music, it depends on the stylistic requirements of the composer and the Aria itself (its emotions, the environment, the character, all of that). For this particular video, I chose the most common approach going through the passaggio.

      Hello there; thanks for leaving a comment and sharing this with us! From what you're saying, it sounds like you could be a tenor, perhaps working more on the higher-end, so you get to a C5, which will be beneficial and then comes the technical and stylistic development; however, if you wish, you also have the option to train as a baritone, and then you'll have to learn how to sing as a baritone and work on your voice with that in mind, I think your register is great because it allows you to choose, you could even be both if you want, have you heard of the term "Baritenor"? I hope you find my answer helpful! :)
