Hello Magali,
No, you will not need to take the exam if you’re getting the dental hygienist certification from one of the EU countries, as the information clearly states that the exam is for the non EU dental hygienist. ifdh.org/ireland

I sent to the dental council with the same question and they told me I cannot do that. But this was long time ago maybe now they change it
