Awesome to hear! I do most of my filming with an Iphone 12/13. To answer your question: is it safe to constantly walk around with your camera out? No. Bringit it out every now and then for some footage? No problem (with some exceptions).

Some people attract mosquitos more than others because of the scent. Maybe that's why you haven't been bitten. Or maybe the mosquito numbers have gone down so that everybody's unbothered just like you. Have you ever heard some of your friends and family complain about insect bites in Rio?
@@GangeHrolfr even in Copacabana you may be quite close to "matas" that are similar to forests. I lived in Leme (besides Copacabana), close to the moutain and had problems with mosquitos there.

And explain some portugues words…maybe with a Rio girl or guy, (ice cold(beer) beach, water,sun)
maybe some phrases that they can speak to the brazil people!
Vice versa, the brazil people learn to speak a little english.
