"This feature-length film delivers an exciting American success story and great entertainment. At a preview screening an audience member was overheard, 'After seeing this, people will realize that Frederick Remington was the Howard Terpning of his time and not the other way around.'
"I believe that the collector who was lucky enough to have purchased the original of Traders Among The Crow at this last winter's Masters of the American West show now owns what will be one of the most widely recognized Terpning's ever created. The movie does a fantastic job of merging the creation of this original work with the story of Howard Terpning's life and career; the creation of art and artist. It makes our Collector's Edition all the more significant.
"I've known Howard Terpning my entire life. I learned more detail about what shaped Howard as a man and as an artist in an hour and a half than I would have thought possible: childhood western experiences, two separate calls to duty, the illustration years and his rise in western art. Certainly, I've been aware of these experiences but not with the same clarity and detail.
"As the filmmaker Douglas Thompson told me, 'This is a story about the American experience that could only happen here: the saga of the American Indian; an account of an inspirational American and a chronical of original and significant American art.' I couldn't agree more.
"To watch this film and then read the book is an inspiring experience."
Scott Usher, Publisher The Greenwich Workshop
A genius, I feel the experience of the scene when I look at his paintings.
Oh my God, so beautiful
Thank you for sharing, definitely leaves you wanting more!!
Congratulation!
Beautiful works
Terpning, Bierstadt and Crumbo are my top three for Western American art.
Z.S. Liang, Acee BlueEagle, Howard Terpning, and Crumbo are mine. I have two originals of Crumbo's hanging on my wall right now.
Howard Terpning is the only artist to date that has masterfully represent American Indians.
totally agree !
good painting
The greatest Master about Plains Indians.
Would you want to share the entire video with us ?? Can you upload it somehow to a site where we are able to download it ??
Good stuff,very good !
Phenomenal. But how did he create the gazillion or so paintings he's done, if he devotes months to finishing one?
Link to Full length feature isn’t current
Well, he is in his 80's now and started probably in his 20's or early 30's, so there you have 50 years. 3 months per painting, 4 per year, that is 200 paintings. And some he probably did faster.
He can paint multiple paintings at the same time , because they have to dry themselves up between layers probably !!
Hello my name is B.Byambatsogt my painting .
He's pretty good but I like Andy Thomas western paintings they have more action in them and more excitement.
