    Thank you! I did this mod but taped the speaker up with foam and spongy tape instead of removing it. It went from a level 10 to a 1. I wish the wire on that harness was longer so it could be left in a more accessible spot. You pretty much have to remove the tub to get to it no matter where you put it.

    So much nicer not hearing the beep! One note: I couldn't take the front plastic panels off, there is an additional special screw (tri-wing, 3 sided) holding it in place and a plastic brace. I was able to just lift the frunk bin out with it in place.
    Thank you for the video!

      I think I’ll just have to yell now. “OPENING FRUNK!!!”

    Might want to waterproof that connector. I did another hack on an electric wheelchair I filled the speaker hole with caulk and just left it in there, sound was reduced to almost inaudible. For my automatic inflator I stuck a think felt furniture stick on foot pad over the hole where the beeper was and it attenuated the sound to the perfect level. I can still hear when the beep when the tire is inflated to the preset PSI but it doesn't hurt my ears.

    Personally, I don't mind the "watch your head and hands" alarm but it's cool to learn these things. One thing I would like to do is find a way to change the reversing alarm. I'd prefer a more classic "Hey! Watch out, I'm backing up here!" alarm sound.

      I’m looking into using the speaker as a PA system with a mic in the cab. I could make it entertaining and different every time

    Is this the same speaker for the tailgate, and do you know were the slow moving vehicle and back up sound generators are?

  • @stevemit2858
    @stevemit2858 Год назад

    You do realize that this is done as a safety feature, right?
    Same thing applies to the reverse sound they are there to alert/warn, children and pedestrians with low vision, of potential danger and not as an annoyance to you.

    • @m10stuff
      @m10stuff  Год назад +2

      Steve this is just the speaker for the frunk opening. I’m not sure how it makes it safer.

    • @stevemit2858
      @stevemit2858 Год назад

      @@m10stuff The sound makes it safer, to others that may not be familiar with the vehicle, by giving advanced warning that something is happening. This gives the individual an opportunity to place themselves or others out of harms way.
      Example: A child, with their hand on the frunk opening, not paying attention to a soundless closing frunk. Background street noises or other distractions can easily over shadow what little noise the frunk makes while closing without the louder warning noise. Just saying 😉.

    • @m10stuff
      @m10stuff  Год назад +5

      @@stevemit2858 I think it opens/closes far too slow to be a danger. In addition, it stops closing at the slightest resistance.
