I still need to get UAD Oceanway. Demoed it a few times. Used it on a horn section when I recorded and mixed a ska band. Sounded bad ass. I forgot about this video. Watched a while back. I also have the ARC mic forgot about that tip. Wanted to try it on drum. Gonna go set it up now so I don't forget again... Keep up the good work on the forum and RUclips Matt.
Nice Matt! Thanks for sharing. I've been using a stereo ribbon in a similar manner. I have the ARC mic. I'll set that up in my room and give this a try.
Thank you Matt, I'm still learning (about all of) my plugins, and this is one I use a lot... on the 2 bus (!) for glue (like 12% wet so nothing crazy).
Great job Matt. As you probably know, I've often said if I could own only one UAD plugin it would be OWS. I have my Sonarworks Reference room calibration mic laying around here somewhere... that should fit the bill nicely. When my band can get back together again (very soon) and we start recording again, I will absolutely give this a try! You've also given me the idea to try this same mic technique on a guitar cabinet. "a work in progress... like my beard." LOL... you'll get there one of these days brother. :-)>
Thanks! With an actual measurement mic just use the Cambridge or something to roll the highs down starting at about 8kHz and you should be in the same area.
Yeah, crashes can be rough in room mics in general. They're not perfect here, but that's just the nature of the beast. However, it's worth the wart covered crash to have the room in a space that had no room for rooms most of the time, IME.
4:22 - "oh yeah"
I'm feeling it too, brother.
Thank you!
Very cool Matt - thanks for sharing this!

Thank you! Use ARC to OWS on horns, too!
Great video! Keep 'em coming!

Thank you! OWS is amazingly powerful.
Dude! This is incredible! Great video.
Thank you so much! Glad it was useful!

I've never tried 2 bus use - I'll have to give it a go!

Yeah lOve it!!! Thanks
Would this work with something that doesn't do the re mic feature? Like the Panda Rooms by Purafied?
Kind of. The technique is more based on OWS, since I created it for that.
@@MattHepworth I bought the mic already haha I guess I'll try it and see what happens
Post your results!
Sounds decent, but not 100% on board with the crash. Anyway, keep it up

Yeah, I feel ya. I'm in a storage unit man and it has lots of fun frequencies
