With the wire you can run it through the little hole on the rear body. I did the same on my f30. Install would be much much cleaner that way. If done right you should have no visible wires at all.
Yes my original lights were pre LCI and I think you’re right, the LCI lights don’t need resistors. I’m not 100% certain. But I do know LCI lights don’t need to plug in that yellow/red cable either

No issues so far! I’ve had them since March and I love them. And I can say the customer service is very helpful. They were prepared to replace an entire light when I thought I had a bad unit. Turns out it was my fault
