In my opinion, the BF-109 is by far the best prop aircraft ever manufactured. Fitting the most powerful engine into the lightest frame made this thing astonishing.
I think the 109 has a card it can play vs almost any contemporary aircraft (assuming the latest model is flown) except late war Spitfires. I just can't think of something a Bf-109-any model can do vs a mark XIV
Absolutely, the 109s outstanding climb rate was unmatched during its era, as well as its flap performance and leading-edge slats which provided exeptional low-speed / stall handling compared to any other fighter. Also, It's aerodynamic design and the light weight, in combination with the incredible workhorse of an engine makes it the best fighter, until the very end of ww2. Especially when u keep in mind, that coupled with a skilled pilot, who knew how to exploit these attributes to the fullest potential, makes it virtually unbeatable. A flaw to keep in mind tho, is the poor canopy visibility.
The Zwilling doesn't have a nose cone on its propeller and right after being re-released it wouldn't warn you about high engine RPM until that was updated, so it's safe to say that some 109s got updates, others didn't.
as far as german vehicles go, I'll always have a special place in my heart for the 'workhorses' such as the 109 or the panzer IV, even if others like the FW190 or the panther are cooler
Funnily enough, it's kind of the opposite. Kurt Tank specifically had that in mind as his overarching design philosophy. The 109 was the 'luxury race fighter' built to smash records and ooze performance, where the 190 was supposed to be the sturdy, rugged workhorse. Greg's Airplanes and Automobiles has a very thorough introduction to the history and design of the 190, as well as a lot of other planes. As far as armored workhorses go, mention must also be given to the unglamorous 38(t), Panzer III, and legendary StuG III
Both FW-190 and Panther were workhorses of the Wehrmacht during the second half of WW2.FW-190 was the 2nd most common German plane,Panther was the 3rd most common German AFV not including half tracks.
I like how they dont talk about how great of a plane the messerschmit Bf.109 was. It was a genius engineered design and fitted with the biggest supercharger at the time and could 1v1 a p51.

While I got some appreciation for the Focke-Wulff planes, the BF 109 really spoke to me when I started to get more comfortable in the air. The Boom-and-Zoom fighting style with wonderful performance in climbs made it a reliable plane even when I was grinding through the latest WW2 tanks while still just piloting the very first machine of the Rank III. aviation tree.
The questions needed to be asked are: when are you planning to addbthe br 0.5 (like 6.0 - 6.3 - 6.5 - 6.7 - 7.0) it would decompress the br system and would make matches really balanced. Imagine fighting only against vehicles +/- 0.6 br than yours.. not 1.0... Second question: what were the guys implementing napalm thinking? They were totally drunk, right? No burning of anything, not even marking the enemies??? Seriously?????
indeed 109 was the best of its time , it was superior in climb rate and speed vs spitfires and superior in turn fights against the P51s , they only suffered from that Fuel shortage and in the last days of war the best G10/14 and K4 veriants had to fight in 1 vs 20 dogfights against allied birds ... i really love the G10 and hope you soon rework the models in the game and add more 109s to the game 😂 and plz make a similar video about the Fw190 , thank you
In all honesty, i choose my Planes purely through aesthetic considerations and i really like the way the 109s look... having had a model one in my childhood home propably helps.
The weaknesses listed early in this video (poor view from cockpit, single-spar wing, narrow undercarriage making taxiing difficult/dangerous) were shared by the Spitfire. Actually, the pilot view from the Spitfire was a little *worse* because the Bf109's inverted engine made the top of the nose a little narrower than the Spitfire's.
It is evident how much Gaijin has a feeling of rivalry with the German armed forces in the second world war. It is enough to have an experience in some matches in the simulator mode, where the FW190 are "average" aircraft, when history shows us how superior were the German designs at that time. In addition to wanting to "equal" the German power to the Soviet power, Gaijin introduces planes from the end of 1944 to face 1942 aircraft such as the Yak3 for example. Not to mention that although many aircraft had good qualities, they were very difficult to operate, where they needed several commands to accelerate or decelerate, but that Gaijin does not take into account. Like the YAK9 and its entire line, for example, they had excellent flight characteristics, but in the heat of battle the pilot had to operate several controls to accelerate the aircraft and operate the radiator, while the FW190 and BF109 only required a lever to moderate the acceleration and fuel mixture, this was decisive in combat. Not to mention the versions almost never used in battles that are introduced in the game. Airplanes that did not make history and never played an important role in battles, just to take the glory of the VERY superior fighters like the ME109 and the FW190. But the YAK3 is of far from the aircraft that had little relevance in the battles of the second war, and when it was introduced, there was already news of axis jet fighters. it was the FW190, and in the simulation game it shows a huge mess, with difficulty reaching good flight speeds in the horizontal direction. It is clear to see that the gaijin hates German aircraft.
Leaves out there combat record and mostly anything positive about the airframe other than ease of production. I've rarely heard anyone call the 109 a bad aircraft it was for it's time one of the best combat aircraft around and if you had a experienced pilot behind the controls was a match for anything the allies threw at it.
I remember french pilot talking about the bf109 and how they where impossible to reach with ms406. But they say that the d520 fared better gainst a bf109. The two aircraft where light with powerfull engine, the d520 can dive faster, roll faster, and turn harder. But the bf109 ( 1940 ) can climb faster and has more ammo.
The only and worst design feature was forced upon it by its splayed landing gear, its advantage was it was attached to the fuselage, so you didnt need to add weight and reinforce the wings. Only trick was not to allow yourself to get too excited upon landing and taking off, once you controlled your emotions in handling it, things went well; on grass and barren ground landing strips it was easier to land it but on concrete there was no give, if a wheel hit first it could dig in, and flip the aircraft. After you master the landings and take offs, the planes other features took over, it was light and small, hard to see at a distance, and its superb Benz engine gave it a climbing rate superior to the p51, starting with the G 10, once you have the K series out, the word is it can out climb and out turn the P 51, and with those cannon shells coming out of its nose, 2 or 3 hits would shred planes and break their frames once the shell got inside an airframe it then blew up, like their anti tank shells did! It was easy to produce and 2 bolts per side would allow the wings to come off for easy shipment, and the pilot sat with his legs almost straight out in front of him, making him less prone to blacking out in maneuvers. So overall when you get past its shitty landings and learn to use rudder controls as you landed, the thing was easy to manuver in the air and the fuel injection made it very responsive at low, middle and high altitudes. So whats really not to like, its was fast, easy to produce, hit hard with that cannon and climbed like a rocket, so for its day it was the best interceptor they had.
As a guy that grinded all of the German Air Tree, I Dub the BF-109 as "The Fuhrer's Bathtub" because it handles like one. The Fockewulfs were way smoother and I didn't feel like I was lumping around a powder keg or a bathtub full of explosives.
Bf-109s have probably my favorite flight models in this game. I have no idea how you'd call the 109s "bathtubs" and the 190s "smooth". 190s handle like a bus. Their only advantages are in armament and dive performance, and maybe straight line speed, while the 109 still has a capable enough armament to dismantle most things it comes across, and it can be augmented. When it comes to the maneuverability department, the Bf-109 smashes the Fw-190 entirely. As for the straight line speed, the Bf-109 can easily outclimb the Fw-190s, and the speed difference in favor of the 190 isn't enough to counter that. I'm not calling the Fw-190s bad, but I always feel like the underdog in almost every situation when flying those things, perhaps that gives them their appeal, as some have told me.
When pitting the 109 against other fighters it feels like a struggle bus, it bleeds speed like hell. The 190 has better energy retention resulting in it just being better, its easier to hit targets since energy retention is superior, sure its capabilities on paper doesn't match the 109 but in practice the 190 just feels better when it comes to PvP since the speed can help in a descent and quick ascend, making the 190 turn inside the circle of the 109 due to speed. Catching targets at further away by closing the gap rapidly. Now to say the 109 is bad, not really it just leaves more to be desired in a more live environment when you have to pull your target into your nose, yes its climb rate is superb but when coming down on enemies the only tactic is Boom and Zoom, quick drop and back up which might end up leaving you as the last one since you're basically picking the scraps of others. Now if we were to grab a "Better" Pilot and they can Dogfight in the 109, good for them. The 190 is easier to use and when it comes down to the average player they're better off flying the 190.
Unlocked the Bf-109 K-4 about 2 weeks ago, named her Eva. Quite a nice plane to fly and is great at attacking unsuspecting planes, especially in ground RB.
Hi whenever I try to take off in simulator mode my plane just always turns for no reason and I can't figure out how to take off ( I am on console and all the guides I have tried to find are for pc)
yes they did, also the V2 (first human object in space), first jet bomber (ar234), first modern - like assault rifle (stg44) (wich is what inspired the modern rifles heavily), the ho229, rocket powered fighter interceptor (me163 komet). A lot of german ww2 euqipment and tactics resemble the modern stuff alot.
I have read that there were production quality issues with the 109s made in the late war period, with things like instruments and other things often not working properly with planes arriving at their units. Perhaps it was due in part to the RLM's use of slave labor in some of those production facilities outside of Germany.
@@rommelwhittman3995 the Bf 109 F-4 has very similar climbing characteristics at optimal climb speeds with the XP-50, it’s only the airspawn that pushes it higher than the 109s.
Q: When you find video sponsored by war thunder and there is special link that gives you special vehicle when you register but you have old account, can you gain that vehicle on the old account?
I’d say that the bf109 k4 is kinda suffering in the Br it’s in , climb rate is not on par plus maneuverability , dive speed is good and energy retention but not top speed and accel , also the worst is the rip speed of the wing
@@jnik_3234 It is a monster, but the teams are not (At that BR). Hence it doesn't matter since you get outnumbered by 3 to 1 and only have 1-2 fighters to help you. K4 is really good, but without a good team, it's a dead fish outta water
THE most critical problem was the fuel crisis. No fuel to train pilots so they died as rookies. Few lived. New leaders coming up became uncommon. The odd caught up with the old hares. No fuel for operations late 1944 and 1945 so what fuel production was vulnerable. Who won the war? Simple, those with OIL! US, USSR, and the British Empire.

The best plane at Simulator batles in german tech tree is the Bf109m The FW190 is unplayable because you need to fly trying to stabilize plane all the time with the Rudder
Could you please suggest Gaijin to update the models of the Bf109 from the F1 to the G6 so that the propeller spinner actually spins like it does on the G10, G14 and K4? It looks really fake when you have a skin with a spiral painted on the spinner and once the engine is on, the spiral just becomes parallel lines or if you have a skin with a white and black coloured spinner it becomes a grey spinner. Has anyone else noticed this?
i am a new player i joined 6months ago but form my experience the bf109 has a lot of fire power and its very good on boom and zoming but bad maneuverbility
your useing it wrong then it energy fighter not BnZ u can turn just don't keep turning it best that loop attacks recommend you don't use gun pods has make it act like brick
The DB605's engine automation within war thunder makes this a pleasure to fly, the cooling solution is excellent and has redundancy not modeled in WT. Its only weakness is compression and low rip speed in a dive due to that single spar wing. And it's got an airbrake... But that's a secret good players keep to themselves for higher BRs where german teams simply don't exist :)

Q:is there ever be a Czechoslovak vehicle tree because there is already a lot of Czech vehicles in the game
prob not, they'll be just part of germany
Prob no
I hope mot
Name some of them pls.

I like these historicall videos, but can you please use some historical photos or clips, not only content from the game?
I just installed the game and somehow immediately unlocked a 109. How is that possible?
Germany did have the best engineers, correct me if I'm wrong, but they made the first operational jet fighter.
yes they did, also the V2 (first human object in space), first jet bomber (ar234), first modern - like assault rifle (stg44) (wich is what inspired the modern rifles heavily), the ho229, rocket powered fighter interceptor (me163 komet).
A lot of german ww2 euqipment and tactics resemble the modern stuff alot.
it was one of the best. i love it
I have read that there were production quality issues with the 109s made in the late war period, with things like instruments and other things often not working properly with planes arriving at their units. Perhaps it was due in part to the RLM's use of slave labor in some of those production facilities outside of Germany.
Bf109 will always have its menacing look and its a pilots plane in warthunder if you have a skill of a Japanese zero user you cant handle a 109
xp50 out climb 109... they will be on deck...
4.0 br xp 50 destroy whole 109 3.0-5.0 br even k4 5.7 cant out climb it.. Cuz air spawn xp50
🤣🤣🤣

@@rommelwhittman3995 the Bf 109 F-4 has very similar climbing characteristics at optimal climb speeds with the XP-50, it’s only the airspawn that pushes it higher than the 109s.
Q: When you find video sponsored by war thunder and there is special link that gives you special vehicle when you register but you have old account, can you gain that vehicle on the old account?
wasn't there a bf109 family video some years ago?
BF109 was the best competitor against the Spitfires

the answer: it's good enough for what it is

hey warfunder whats the difference between the Marder A1- and the Marder A1A3
ware is the free M1A2 tank and parts and FPE
History and design of the ki 61 variants please
that is the great content we are following not some stupid shorts
I thought people didn't die in ww2 , according to War Thunder they're just knocked out.
I’d say that the bf109 k4 is kinda suffering in the Br it’s in , climb rate is not on par plus maneuverability , dive speed is good and energy retention but not top speed and accel , also the worst is the rip speed of the wing
There's no point to play the 109 K-4, the teams you get are always utter garbage 4 Ju-288C and 1-2 more fighters against all fighter teams
the K4 is amonster.
@@jnik_3234
It is a monster, but the teams are not (At that BR).
4:28 ... whats up with these humps between window and yellow section ? ... can anybody say something about it ? seems to only be on one specific BF 109
The BF109 is a nice plane. If it hadn't a little problem. 3 clicks on the mouse and your bigger guns like 20mm are done, no ammo. I hate it.
Do you think you can make a video on bf 109 family of aircraft
wonder when they do the BF109 family video?
What happened to the original narrator?
Edit:Sorry to say this, but I prefer the old style of videos where you tell the history of aircraft or ground vehicle family and then show off the many variants it had.
It just tragic that you can be fired for doing your work.
Me 109 is the finest piece of engineering in human history.
Nice to see a video of the me 109, it will always have special place in my heart. Question: somebody commented once that the finnish VL Pyörremyrsky, which was based of the me 109 is a spiritual successor to messer. Is true or false?
The most based plane ever made
The best plane at Simulator batles in german tech tree is the Bf109m The FW190 is unplayable because you need to fly trying to stabilize plane all the time with the Rudder
Q: Will you remake the American fighter pilot model with more modern gear
did the old narrator retire ?
Q: why you guys change the f-4C phantom weapons
the bf is also nice for its powerful machine guns
The deadliest fighter in history Don't talk about things you don't know about it
Q: Can the german tank techtree get a light tank line or something actually fast?
The puma is pretty fast

It's literally the worst version
@@eironn__ Worst version? All the 190s were great.
What happened to the other guy that did the commentary for the shooting range
His contract was terminated.
bro every year??
How can someone think the 109 was a failure? jesus that aircraft cost a lot of american and european pilots lives in WWII
Has anyone else noticed this?
i am a new player i joined 6months ago but form my experience the bf109 has a lot of fire power and its very good on boom and zoming but bad maneuverbility
your useing it wrong then it energy fighter not BnZ u can turn just don't keep turning it best that loop attacks recommend you don't use gun pods has make it act like brick
my favourite 109 is K4 that thing gives P51H and tempest II run for there money
Can anybody tell me..!
Sometimes I see my planes skin like black or blur.
Why...?! And what should i do..?
The DB605's engine automation within war thunder makes this a pleasure to fly, the cooling solution is excellent and has redundancy not modeled in WT. Its only weakness is compression and low rip speed in a dive due to that single spar wing.
And it's got an airbrake... But that's a secret good players keep to themselves for higher BRs where german teams simply don't exist :)
