- Johnny Boston from Trackshcool was kind enough to lend me this rocket after the Zook failed. Its got a CA18det, Skyline gearbox, Hilux diff, Bilstein shocks and plenty of grunt. Had breathing issues all weekend and kept pushing oil out of the catch cans. Started rear of grid for race 2 and 3. Race 2 we turned the boost down to try and make it last, which it didn't. Race 3 we cranked it right up and just wanted to get as far up the road as possible! Looking back taking to the grass up the hill wasn't my finest moment but everything else I was fairly happy with. Except I did forget to turn off the launch switch at the start, whoops! I definitely found myself racing without a clear mind after working non stop on the car all weekend and racing the Evo in the 6hr. The boys did a great all weekend to help keep the car on track, couldn't have done it without them.
Make sure you watch right until the end, I parked the car in a really cool spot and left the camera running. You get an awesome perspective of how fast some of the Improved Production cars.
Passed 19 cars on the first lap, 10 before Hell Corner, Three wide over Skyline.......OMG......must have a trailer behind that thing to carry your balls!!! Well done young man, inspiring to watch!

The solution to your breather problems is to ensure the catch can has a sump return. Been running a CA on the circuit for years like that with no issues ever. (Also have external head oil drains and an oil restrictor into the head.)
Loved listening to the other cars going past. To hear individual racecars at full song is pure magic.
The graphics are great but I think you set the AI too easy : )

What a hell of a first lap! Have you ever considered doing post production on your vids and add in details like lap counts, lap times, positions etc etc?? Would love to see that kinda info. I don’t really get an opportunity to ever see races like this in New Zealand so thanks for the upload!!!

Funny because just last night I watched the 1998 Japanese F1GP where Schumacher started from the back of the grid after two false starts to the race and did banzai first lap up to 11th or something.

Regardless of Jordan being one hell of a driver, doesn't mean he would do well in F1. Mostly because its not an even playing field. Not even sure JC would want to be in F1.

He couldn't keep it straight, couldn't overtake anyone with equal power and almost binned it losing control and running off on to the grass. If he's the best driver you've ever seen then you really need to go out more.
This is the third disparaging reply I have seen from you in these comments - mate you clearly haven't seen the videos of Jordan racing the balls off his old civic at Bathurst, he is a fantastic driver. I drive just like this in Forza. If I got behind the wheel of a race car I doubt I could drive like I do in video games......my heart would be in my mouth, and I'd die of adrenaline poisoning.

In the last track day had almost the same problem as you! the cranckshaft seal failed and spilled a lot of oil to the wheels... and i was taking a turn, thankfully nothing happened but it was the same experience you had! :(

It seems like it keeps having a similar failure and I have a feeling it's oil related. Oil restrictors and big coolers I think they're in their future.

I have owned a couple of MX5’s before but how come I have never seen a turbo or engine swapped one being used in these races ? That Datto is a beast the C18 sounds great! I would like to know which Skyline tranny too.
