    Great video! Its all theory that became practical with visualization and many features. I am going to revise the fluid dynamics and heat transfer book to get the formulas working behind.

    Great video! May I know if you use lid to bound the inlet & outlet ? I do not see the lid in you simulation.

      The Lid feature would be used to close the geometry if it was open pipe. In this case, the affects would be the same.

    Is it possible to probe for internal analysis? I am trying to read a pressure at a certain location but am not being able to do so

    Is dynamic meshing achievable?
    For linear motion? Because you only mentioned rotating body simulations

      SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation does not have a mesh morphing technology but can re-mesh during the course of the solve. GoEngineer discusses the functionality here: www.goengineer.com/blog/solidworks-flow-simulation-solution-adaptive-mesh-refinement.

    What if you have 2 or 3 incoming and varying flow rates going to different pipes and meeting at one point?
    1. A1V1
    2. A2V2
    3. A3V3
    Is the total output flow rate (total AV) equal to = A1V1 + A2V2 + A3V3?

    is it possible tu simulate internal pressure or vacuum in a storage tank?

      Hi Mr. Gr.,
      In Flow Simulation very low pressure vacuum cannot be simulated because at low pressures gas behaves according to statistical kinematics rather than a continuum of flow. Flow Simulation must assume the flow is a gas continuum, so this a limitation of what you are trying to do with the software.

      Hello,
      Thank you for replying. What about low internal pressures, e.g. 5 - 30 mbarg for API 650 storage tanks? For both cases I am refering to liquids (water, crude oil, etc.) as a medium.

      If you use in-compressible liquids you will probably be fine because they will still act as a fluid continuum.

      We recommend starting with the free tutorials available with installation of the program. Once Flow Simulation is added in, go to Help, SOLIDWORKS Simulation, Flow Simulation Online Tutorial.
      Much of the useful starting material for Flow Simulation is included with the installation:
      Filesets for Online Tutorial: [Installation Drive]/Program Files/SOLIDWORKS Corp/SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation/Examples.

      In the newest release, SOLIDWORKS 2018, Flow Simulation is capable of analyzing two-phase flows.

    Hello Team Go Engineer,
    I am trying to do a simulation of an heat exchanger, in which pressure of steam falls from a value of 3.5 bar to vacuum pressure. But at the outlet, I have a condensate pump installed to only operate after the pressure their is 1.5bar. Can you suggest a proper boundary condition?
