I have set #104 and this has been a fun build so far. Overall, the parts have fit together well. This is the first kit I have had that has used laminated Masts and Yards. I have them glued together but I have not yet made them round. The 3D printed parts are very crisp and clean. My model is not ready to have them added so they are staying wrapped up and safe. All of the parts in the little boxes are well organized and prepared. The blocks look excellent, the full length cannons look like they could really fire, and the ropes are some of the best I have seen in a kit. I have not decided if I will leave the cannons brass colored or chemically make them a bronze or black color. The sheets of drawings are very well laid out. I think a novice builder may be overwhelmed. A few more pages I the direction manual would go well to help the builder to know which part of the rigging to do first, then second, and so on. There are a few good books about ship rigging that were very helpful. I opened the package of Sails when I got the kit just to look at them. They will be a complete project just on their own. They are large enough to add a good amount of detail to them. Wow, the photo etch sheet is thick! I am looking forward to cutting those parts out and using them. Like the cannons, I am not sure what color I want to make them. I am disappointed that there are parts shown in the directions that have not been included in the kit. Some of these parts are the very top of the Masts where the flags attach and some of the inner planking on the upper decks. With all of the other planks that were pre cut, why not cut these too? This will be a very nice addition to the model collection. I am happy I got it and I hope to purchase another ship model from him.
@@vanmacvideos3774 while buying dowels is a possiblity I do want to use what was provided. I have a lathe and there are other techniques to help in making items round. If I mess up making the stock Masts or Yards round, I can reach out to get replacement parts or buy dowels.
@@AirwolfCrazy You’re right a lathe would definitely help. I’m working on the Santa Maria right now. My main concern was if I could get the planks round, the diameter would be off. Ex 9.5mm vs 11mm. So, I opted out for dowels. I’m happy with the way they came out. Is the San Bartolome that big? For me it’s massive. I don’t have the work space or a display area. Definitely would be a fun build. Have fun.
@@vanmacvideos3774 The model is a good size. When done it will be between 3 and 4 feet long. I like large models so they take up a good deal of space. HMS Victory is about three feet as is my Doomday Machine from Star Trek. I also have a 1/32 B17 bomber to build at some point. I have no clue how I will display that when it's done.
Just bought this Pavel. Fantastic. No 000132. So excited

It’s much easier and faster to buy round dowels from Model Expo.

hello, thanks for restarting the videos on the San Bartolomé. I hope this time we can see them until the model is finished. thanks
Fantastic video. Can't wait to pick this kit up when I finish his Santa Maria which is also a gem. Thank you.
