Very impressive Olha, nice to see you scratch building your own oars instead of using the kit provided ones.Thank you for this posting and I hope all is well with you.
That is an absolutely mind-blowing work you have done there Olha 😲 I am impressed by what you did, but i does puts the detail to the next level !! Just brilliant job done, and the ship looks stunning with the oars in place !!
Hi Olha, you mentioned that Pavel’s new version of this is worse in our last conversation. It is a kit I really want to attempt, my stepdaughter lives in Norway & I am lucky enough to have seen the original, hence my enthusiasm & connection. So, in your expert opinion, which kit should I go for? Still Pavel’s when available? Or is there another you can recommend? Astonishingly beautiful & patient work on those oars by the way - bravo
Thanks! Unfortunately, yes, the new version of this kit is even more historically incorrect. If the frames are at least almost invisible, then the planks are the most noticeable part of the model - they are now completely incorrect. Pavel added new joints in the bow and stern that were not there and also of an absolutely made up shape. That is, I would completely throw them all away and cut new ones (not just the middle parts like on my version). The rest of the so-called details on the deck - they simply were not on the real Oseberg... Unfortunately, this is the kind of models that are difficult to create for a kit. There is another manufacturer Billing Boats, who created a whole series of Viking ships, but I have not seen them up close...

abolutely mindblowing 😮 congrats Olha, you are setting new standards. All astronautes should take one of these kits into space in case they have to prolong their stay with a couple of months
This is like one more kit I have in my shipyard. It is the Graupner kit, and sadly I do not have the plans. I am still trying to figure how to do a work around. I once had an "almost" purchase of the plans, but the deal fell through.

There was no other way out - there were completely wrong oars in the kit - there were oars from a pirogue...
I just love the way you build so wonderfull 💖💖
Thank you so much 🤗
Schöne Arbeit,sehr aufwendig.Aber nach historischem Vorbild. ❤

Olha hermoso trabajo naval....🇲🇽🇲🇽...

Hi Olha, is there a tool that you don't have or made.! Great work on this ship.
Thank you! I have my wish list of what else I need from tools)))

Thank you!
Approximately 5 hours per oar
