Bass drum Does NOT require an inbox because its a different type of trigger than the pads. Its just a 1/4 inch plug coming off the head vs 1/8 on the pads that plug into the inbox
Nice setup!!! I think the problem with the cymbal's sound is that you recorded them too hot. I feel like they are clipping a lot! The rubber O-rings should be on the inner side of the cymbal to prevent distortion on the sensor, maybe is that? I know the Gen16 is a whole new concept... their sound is supposed to be more "shimmering" than regular cymbals, but maybe when you tried to balance the two sources volume, you cranked up the cymbals a little too much? :P Also, it would be nice to have a mountable piezo system for these cymbals in order to trigger them... the same way you attach the sensor with a screw through the holes. I think it attracts me more the idea of having triggerable super quiet -but real- cymbals than a processed full audio non-editable stereo output :)
Im using the Alesis IO Trigger and its not a module its just a triger to usb to midi converter. You have to use that with software on the computer or buy a brain just like any other electric kit has.
Those cymbals sound better acoustically imo then they do electronically, Is there a way to translate the acoustic sound to the recording software does any one know??
I'm still trying to find out more about these cymbals, from what I've gathered so far they are acoustic and they have pickups underneath them so it should be relatively close... the module there supposedly only adjusts the pitch slightly
sexypekk Can use a Midi or USB to connect your module to a mixer or PC to record the module's cymbal sounds?? Price tag aside these definitely seem interesting but if you have to use computer software for cymbals sounds that'd be disappointing. Do you like playing these cymbals compared to acoustic ones btw? (Thanks for answering my previous question) :)
The cymbals are being recorded a different bit rate to the midi from the drums. And so you don’t get a great sound from them :/ they sound better than that in real life.
Exelent review man!!!
I think I'm gonna get these pads now
I JUST DID THIS EXACT SETTUP, AND I LOVE IT.
How well do ghost notes or rolls come through on the snare drum? I can't tell much from this video.
Question? Do you still have those “ONHEAD” Aquarian triggers? If so have they held up throughout the years or not?
How does the bass feel different from the other pads or no
do I need drum module. how to connect to pc all the peds?
Does the bass drum trigger require an inbox?
Are those cymbals digital use ?

How much was this entire set up? Minus the drums and mac.

So with the on heads, you don't need a module? Pit appears your running it off your Mac. If so, where do you have all the cords for the heads going?

Are you using a module to plug in the On Heads to the computer?
yes, the module is Alesis IO Trigger. it connects through usb and the triggers plug into the Alesis
can you do rim shots on the snare or is not dual zone?
Its not a dual zone, the rim is a soft rubber material and is not a trigger
je hebt erg goed materiaal:

Why dont those gen 16 cymbals ever sound any good? Drums dont sound too bad though. Still sounds electronic.
cute
Aliasing....
The drums are fine but the cymbals come on you can edit it better!
He has the pick ups in the wrong place I believe.
Or the gen16 cymbals just sound like shit as usual.
