One more beautiful video today I saw....I have been to Kochi for my honeymoon and saw that church which showed in this video.... lots of memories of Kerala....thanks dear... keep smiling & keep traveling...
There is one correction dear. Christianity in Kerala is not exactly colonial influence. It's been in this small space for 2000 years .Happy to know that you are enjoying the place. A fellow keralite :)
I know, plans don't work if you travel in India. I arrived (by bus from COK Airport) in Fort Kochi after a 39 hours journey including the busride . I enjoyed my first coconut at the beach and after one hour I found myself in a cheap and comfortable room without any effort from my side. So it went on all the time in Southern India. Good things come to those who can wait. Traveling in India is a lesson in patience...
Glad to know you had a great time in Kerala!!😀👍 Do visit Kerala again. ☺️also visit munnar its a stunning Hill station in Kerala filled with tea plantations.
Hey your videos are really nice. I like it how you talk about your experiences. You are totally not a tourist, it seem like you really want to know something about India. I have been in India 4 times and I love it. I'm so happy that I found some one who wants to see the real India greetings the daughter of redarmyf ❤
Christianity in southern part of india is not by the colonization. it's because of St.Thomas apostle (one of the disciple of Jesus). There are people who became Christians by missionaries. But a small amount.Christianity is there in kerala for last 2000 years. And we live happily with our Hindu and muslim brothers. 😊
Please don't think that we are fanatics.we are concerned about our heritage because there are less evidences(records) for the arrival of st. Thomas. The strong evidence is our culture. We have traditional music, dance and rituals which praise the arrival of St.Thomas and his martyrdom. And there are Christian churches founded by St.Thomas. And we used east Syriac(language) in our liturgy. I love Poland. You are totally different from rest of Europe.I remember slogan of Poles, "God, honour, homeland".🌹😊
I don't know what happens in other states. But in kerala, we live with harmony.Three of my roommates are Hindus (in Karnadaka). Seven of my best friends are hindus with whom I have food and enjoy weekends.Yesterday also we had dinner together😊 .We didn't feel any cultural difference till now. We are Christians by faith,Hindu by culture and Indians by nationality.😊 If you are a Hindu I can call you racist who oppressed lower casts for hundreds of years for their color and occupation. I can you a fantastic for killing hundreds of Christians and Muslims( eg.Gujarat riot ). I can call you traitor for dividing or nation for religion and showing fake nationalism.I can call you sadist for sacrificing animal to your gods.I can call you chauvinist for discriminating women. But I won't... You considered low cast people as untouchable... You didn't allow them for education. You raped their women. You insulted and killed them.Where was your darma ?? Don't forget our past.
Yes... Pagan culture was wiped out by the Christians from Europe. But I don't think that Christians killed people for Christianity.Because Christ told us to love our enemies.Genocides ware due to racism.I don't support such things.Today situations in India are pathetic than any other country. Peoples are killed for eating beef. Girls are raped inside temple for not being Hindu(in Kashmir) !!! Peoples are reconverted to Hinduism. Who were the original inhabiters of India?? Why Dravidians are considered as lower cast in their homeland ?? How did they become untouchable for upper cast Hindus( the real invaders) ??!! 😨
I think you should use video stabilisation sometimes, because shaking video sometimes make headache. Anyway Nice video.....Love from kerala...... Visit again
Christianity is not a Colonial thing in Kerala .... Christians are there in Kerala even before the British islands got Christianised,,,,,,, It is one of the oldest Christian community in the world...
@Reborninindia you must do plenty of research and reading before coming to country like India. Christianity in Kerala is older than Christianity in Poland! Just aimlessly walking the streets with a camera stick in the hand doesn't make much sense.
12:25 its not colonial heritage.. Christianity exist in kerala even before it started in Europe. St thomas apostle reached here in kerala in AD 52. Lot of syrian christians and jewish settlements happened in early first centuries
Hi dear, glad u liked Kochi and Ur vedio is just so plain and simple, yet beautiful. U have kept it natural. Just would like to correct you that Christianity in Kerala began with St. Thomas the Apostle, much before the colonial invasion. There are churches still existing which belong to the last millenium. Many Christian communities trace their ancestors to the fourth century AD as well.
Christianity in India in Kerala came a long way ago. Apostle st Thomas came to India and established the roots of Christianity way before the Europeans accepted Christianity. Christians been reported in India from AD 59 at that time most of the modern era European empire didn’t even existed. It is not something that Europeans did. We have a rich Christian culture in Kerala.
Glad u had a gr8 time dear....but 1 word of advice..dnt get into lonely places.....also u seemed to have lost a significant amout of time wen u got lost....and sadly u did get ripped off at many places.......pls do get in touch if u wanna see more places and explore as I am a Fort Kochite.....(p.s am also a wanderer...just got back from a Ladhaki tour on motorcycle..rode from Ladhak to Kochi.....biker by passion...banker by profession)...take care cheers...
Christianity came through traders from syria in prehistoric times even before europe....There are many forms of christianity in kerala itself like roman catholic, syrian orthodox, jacobite, latin catholic,pentecost,anglo-indian etc....Also the first mosque in india is nearby kochi in kodungalloor....
but Latin Christianity does not have the same history as that of syrio malabar Christianity. the former were converted under colonial influence, the latter was brought before through traders from Nestoria and they were very influential in our keralite society.
500 Rs from Lulu Mall to Fort Kochi? I guess it's peak hour rate. I paid only 350 from Old harbour hotel, Fort Kochi to Lulu mall last week. Or you could also try the pool option.
Nice place Kochi. Thanks for sharing. That church was beautiful. I heard you sing "Lets go to a mall' towards the end of the video. Nice voice. keep it up.my best wishes.
Keep up the good work.. The fact is that most of the Indians haven’t seen India as much as you have seen . Including me. 😜. Next time you visit Kerala please do visit Thrissur and the festival “Thrissur Pooram”. I am pretty sure you will be amazed. I am originally from Thrissur, Kerala but living in UK. Also never miss Calicut , Munnar , Thekkadi , vagamon, Gavi, Trivandrum etc.
Well i really liked tis...my kochi... Have you visited Kaakkathuruthu near aleppey???this place is hidden gem..Listed as the one of the beautiful sunset in world by national geographic magazine, you can experince the old fishing techniques and taste the local toddy and shap currys.. Make sure u visit this place next time👍👍
Nice video again it takes heart to explore something deep as you do :)No personal space in India thats a big judgement dear friend. You are a tourist nd thats the reason given special privileges by people 😎.. love and peace
Thanks, I appreciate it so much! No personal space was a big part of my cultural shock even. It's not a judgement, it's an observation, but definitely a huge generalization ;)
Kerala is mix culture of jews, roman catholic, syrian catholic, orthodox, muslims, hindus, budish and of course Communist etc. Its entire different from rest of india.
My first stop! Please tell me, did you find your accomodation in Fort Kochi or in Kochi itselve? It looks a bit like Diu, which was portugueese. The style of the houses and so on.
I know I'm a bit annoying, but how did you get from Cochin airport to Kochi? I don't want to pay 10.000Rs to a "criminal" taxidriver. Local bus, shuttle service or what? I don 't want to offend Indian people, they have to feed their children, but I'm sure you know the mentality of taxidrivers at airports or railwaystations. In Delhi I always take a prepayed taxi from the Delhi Police. 250 Rs last time to Bikaner house, a busstand near India gate. Expensive but ok! Anything similar in Cochin? Information makes everything less expensive and I'm a budget - traveller...
I'm not a good advisor on most of the practical things as I was always very lucky. I had a free lift from Kochi airport to Kochi, one kind man who was going the same directions offered me a lift. But I heard that taxi ride would cost about 800 rupees ;) There are also buses from there and that was my initial plan. Also I would suggest Uber
Hello, do you recommend to live in Kochi 3 months or more? I am looking for somewhere quiet in Nature to live in Kerala (for up to 6 months). I have spent 5 months in Rishikesh and would like somewhere more green with purer air. Thank you ^_^
Mam pls explore the hill areas in kerala. Gavi. Garudan para a lot of rain forest are there. And pls explore our cultural festvals. Thrissur pooram will be on april
lulu mall is a cool place. there lots of good places to visit in kerela which most of the forgein tourists never heard about.. there are lots of beautiful places and its better to visit those places in bikes with close friends.
Nice vlog as usual. If possible do some vlogs in Poland, so that we can get to see more of this beautiful country. For example show us how Auschwitz looks today and also the museum over there. If they allow you to film that would be great as it could give us a glimpse into the gory days of World War II...
your damn good, like ur video very much, and have some suggestions, there is a focusing issue sometimes and please stabilize the video.overall its was amazing, i love ur videos
As usualll beautiful vlog, I got to say you need to work on image stabilization, there is lot of bouncing around especially in this vlog which tends give motion sickness sometimes... All the best for your journey.. 😍😍
Yeah, well I'm aware of that xD I was using the only thing I had which was my phone, there will be an upgrade in quality several videos ahead as I eventually invested in a point&shoot ;)
Love from Kochi. It's great that you also visited the not-so-touristy-places. Please don't invade personal spaces. They think tourists don't have any respect for their personal space, that's why they let you get away with it and also because they don't wanna go through the trouble of explaining personal space to you. And that guy was being sarcastic when he said ₹1000 for taking Video of the Christmas decorations. He didn't mean to scare you away. That totally went over your head, didn't it. You missed out a lot of great stuff in Kochi. But I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Good Video 👌 Can you please explain why this interests you and is there anything different from rest of India, like the people, hospitality, culture, places etc?
For exploring real kerala... U need to avoid tourist destinations... U should try thiruvananthapuram or kollam or palakkad or malappuram ... Its quite interesting .. Rent a motorcycle and go through these areas...
Christianity in kerala is not a colonial .....its been here for at least 2000 years check out history of syrian christians in kerala ... you will found interesting things..
Pretty good vlog...as you mentioned about Christianity, it came to Kerala way back in AD 54. Yeah..even before Christianity reached Europe. Also colonial era connected earlier Christianity to pope.
You covered the city well- the good, the bad, the beautiful and the dirty. Made me feel nostalgic for my city as I am currently staying elsewhere. Thank you.
The ongoing rate for conversion to Christianity in Thoothukudu, TamilNadu is Rs.60000/-. The money goes to the person who converts, not to the converted.
Dear I am a package driver for last 9years.if any one of the friends want to visit Kerala. Please recommend me..I have my own taxi vehicle and I know each and every corners of Kerala. I can speak good English. If you give me your email id. I will send my WhatsApp no. ThAnkyou
Kochi is not just a city, it's a feeling. I spent my 4 years of college in this city. Those beautiful days ❤ !

No, it didn't, I knew he was joking.
Yeah, I know I missed out a lot, but I spent there only 3 days. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed.
