You might consider cleaning the bills with ozone. This does not harm non oxidising colors (which bills should have, else they’d fade pretty fast), but it oxidizes organic stuff, thereby neutralizing olefactoric components. You’d just need a low output ozone generator (best one with battery, you can get these for about 20$), an airtight bag and a nice day, for it’s best to do this outdoors, even if the produced amount of ozone isn’t that high. Then put the spread bills into a bag, put in the generator to that the airways are not blocked, switch it on and seal the bag with quite bit of air inside, leave it for some time, open it (best outside, and try not to breath in the enclosed air), and your bills should smell nice and fresh again. Btw., I wouldn’t say it was a scam. The worth of a coin is something quite hard to make out, and according to some people here, you underpriced some of these coins. Well I must say that you seriously undervalue those coins. That big 1784 5 kopeks I could sell easily for $50-60 with no doubt. And the other antique coins are selling easy for around a $5-10 on ebay /per piece/
@@Silverpicker Approximately $200-205. Based on my knowledge and the prices I am selling them for. I sell a bunch of those antique 18th-19th century kopeks for $6-8. The large 5 kopeks from 1784 is the most valuable obviously which is around at $50 but I sold one of those for ~$65 last year. The silver denga goes for $25-30. The banknotes worth up to $1,5-2 nothing really special. The large cccp commemorative coins are selling for $5 each but let's say $3 per piece. To be honest if you buy something from a poor country for peanuts that does not mean it is trash or scam. Most of the times they just want to make a quick money out of it but they do not really know what they are selling. Trust me I have bought coin lots for $100 worth more than a $1000 and I mean I have made 10times profit. Casual people do not know their coins and their prices. If a book says it is $1 that does not mean that is the real value you have to study the market, if it sells for $10 one time maybe you are lucky but if this happens more than once or twice that means the coin has more numismatic value than the book says or those numismatic websites. AND because you probably want to sell them in the US that adds a little bit more to that value because simply you just can not go out with a metal detector and find them, same with the ancient roman and greek coins you can sell them for x3 more in US because they have higher value overseas - you can not find any in the US you have to buy them from Europe. Based on my knowledge and experience from selling thousands of these coins.
I don't think you're being completely fair calling this scammy. You said yourself that selling these retail may get you 100$. Do you really expect to buy a grab bag of coins for 100$ that is worth 100$ wholesale? (so ~150-200$ retail)

Looks pretty cool to me, you must look at from this angle, "for what you spent was equivalent to a weekend warrior outing, the outing is money gone and gone forever, you stayed at home and your weekend warrior was opening up some really cool cold war enemy coins" was it worth it? YES IT WAS BY ALL MEANS
Not a bad point, Gene
FINALLY! I’m so excited!
Are the junk Silver bags with a list of what's inside, a waist of money?
Usually
Hey the B side is EBAY buyer protection. So theres that.
The absolute truth! No seller protection though so it's hard trying to be an honest seller sometimes
@@theobscurity9392 because so many bad ones have messed it up for the good ones
@@MrDeenice28 true for so many things
@@theobscurity9392 i didnt realize it then.....but you're so right!
I think it would be more as fair to mark the value up , all of the pre 1850s coins make it worth it
The unknown coin maybe put it down, and take a nice big photo, and show us, you move around like you need a shot of vodka
Shiping from rusia is really expensive, and im pretty sure they are overpricing the coin to comp for the expensive shipping because if they charge the right price for shiping no one gonna buy this beautiful grab bag
I really liked the Anniversary of WWII coins and 1st man in space coins. But the older coins were my favorites.
Me too!
You under priced some coins but okay
Underpriced nothing, he is an expert in everything.
@@Car1Sagan not really in everything if he priced items like that. He is an expert in American and Canadian coins not Russian
@@GorkovenkoY I was just being sarcastic.
@@Car1Sagan oh okay
@@GorkovenkoY Too be fair Russian coins are not worth as much in America vice versa I'd be very happy to pay 100$ for that particular grab bag I like coins that have history too them so in my opinion not a bad buy
As a person who likes russian and soviet stuff, i would be excited
Ya, it was cool but it still wasn't worth it
Love the Large copper 5 kopech? Looks pretty cool
Happy clogging the sewer system! Seems like loads of fun! 😁😁
You have a great collection of coins and bills, if you feel the need to resale them or parts of them let me know. I dont do e-bay nor pay-pal .
God bless y'all
I'd sell some of it, but I don't think it would work without paypal
why dont you use those you pussy
Good video and information. Thanks for posting. Have a great evening. ; D
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
@@Silverpicker I really did enjoy it so much. ; D
Did you double check if it was return address was Chernobyl before opening it? LOL.. Thanks for the video...:LOL
Well, actually if you value the coins (which several you seemed to like) and paper along with the education you learned about said items and the historical significance of several of them and factor in shipping, the preconception that you weren't gonna get $100 worth of items, the fact that pretty much any thing we buy cost far more than the actual cost to make......... it wasn't that bad. And the pungent fragrance is just a bonus 🤔🙄🤢😂.
Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.
Lol, you're not wrong
Well I must say that you seriously undervalue those coins. That big 1784 5 kopeks I could sell easily for $50-60 with no doubt. And the other antique coins are selling easy for around a $5-10 on ebay /per piece/
So how much would you value the whole lot at?
I’m a soccer guy and the World Cup commemorative stuff seemed pretty cool
In retrospect it's actually not a terrible grab bag.
I don't think you're being completely fair calling this scammy. You said yourself that selling these retail may get you 100$. Do you really expect to buy a grab bag of coins for 100$ that is worth 100$ wholesale? (so ~150-200$ retail)
I mean a grab bag is wholesale...

That was the tackiest grab bag #2! I learned a good lesson on that one.

This was a pretty good grab bag. I think Eastern European/Russian coins are just out of your league, but I can't blame you for that, lol.
I just got an 1887 Morgan dollar in great condition from my grandfather
That's awesome! Make sure to say thank you!
