- It's that time again! I ordered a grab bag from my favorite ebay coin grab bag seller, MainStreetRareCoins.com. In this video I aim to show you all that even though most eBay coin grab bag sellers are just out there to scam new and young numismatists, there are a few that are actually fair. Once you find them, stick with them! This is the result of a grab bag I bought when I asked them to make a mystery coin grab bag with a theme.

I prefer random. Once we saw 2-3 proof sets, yawn, another proof set. The $50 one where you had foreign coins and all manners of other stuff was a lot more fun. For me, anyway. Good video.

Good score, that 1957 is gorgeous. I have a bunch of sets too 1970, 77, 82 - 90 and 2000 - could not sell them for love or money (US silver is popular here, but not clad). So I kept them as the quality of the coins inside are just stunning and I even ended up with a 2004 UNC set and even that is nice (Interesting as you get Philadelphia and Denver mint coins in separate envelopes). Love you channel and videos, bing coin collector here in New Zealand.

@@Silverpicker Well, I really love your grab bag videos, and I also really like your videos about paper currency as well, especially your collection videos because I never really cared about collecting paper money, nor did I really care that much about the art work and history. But after watching your videos about paper money, I LOVE the idea of having my own collection and I have much more respect for the history and artwork on different bills, and I've been trying to start one, but all I have so far is a star note and a $2 bill, but I have planned on buying some soon. I mean, ALL of your videos are awesome though! Yes I really like your grab bag videos, and sorry for this very unnecessarily log explanation lol!
Edit: This evening my dad was paying me five bucks for yard work, and I saw a silver certificate in his wallet, and he traded me the 5 bucks for the silver certificate! Going towards my growing bill collection!!

waited for and loved ur video and it's style,in the fall i started as an adult new collector,by collecting state park quarters which i finished recently.totally ignorant about ebay,started in recent weeks to buy proof/silver mint sets.so i spent few hundred dollars as the new kid on the block.u got best deal from msrc which u recommended to me,but in all honesty u have a relationship with them so u got a great deal and value from them.i'm learning from u.

That 94 prestige set looks amazing. Also funny thing I went and got out my 2000 proof set and not even a minute later in the video you pulled the same year set from the bag. A themed bag is nice but I prefer just a random assortment of coins in a grab bag. You never know what you'll get and you may even find silver in the lot of foreign coins that you didn't know was silver.
What a coincidence! I agree that the randomized bag is more interesting too. That said, I enjoyed this as a change of pace. Next week I'm going to do another one that's more randomized

100$ is a lot to commit, I’m glad you received your money’s worth! I would of never thought it would be good like this one and personally never buy them. This is tempting but maybe I will, please continue these videos, These videos are my favorite about coins.

Technically they're called cents but they are very commonly known as pennies as well
the old 50s proof set is one you need need to see if you can get a high grade on the coins and if you can get a proof 65 or better certify it.

Following up on the chat, you can check out the video of The Coin Show episode 161 around 45 minutes in to see the 1892 proof set. Looks like if you have really deep pockets, you could assemble proof sets before then (back to maybe the 1850s) one by one.
@Joe Shmoe check out the video I mention. The mint sold a set of the five coins at the end of the Columbian exposition. That is the set in the video.

Well one thing to note; in history there has been females on bank notes. Namely 1886 and 1891 $1 silver certificate notes. So there has been females on currency AND coins. But of course not recently so if love to see Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. Proof sets are absolutely gorgeous both to hold and to break open for albums. I Would love to get my hands on one of those 60s proof sets. Those would be a great addition to my proof type set always looking for good deals on eBay and otherwise.

I think if it were me, I'd cherry pick the sets for coins to send off to try and get high grades on. Certain coins can be worth a lot if they grade high and are DCAM. Thanks for another video.

Silverpicker I don’t usually have proof sets either. Yes I do have several albums, they take awhile to fill but I like doing it.
I like the proof sets ,I like the cases and the cardboard in top condition. I think the bag is worth $ 10. If you haven't pulled them apart yet and buy the way one of the older sets is my birth year .I would swap some small weight Gold Kangaroo coins still in the Perth mint packs that I brought when they came out for that whole lot including the bag.We could work out what you want price wise Including the postage as I am in Australia.Just something to think about .Cheers.

Bought a $200 grab bag and in there was a 1882 Carson City Morgan it was about VF-25 but still a $120 coin right off the bat also there were four 90 percent 1964 Kennedy half dollars and four silver quarters along with 10 mercury dimes
