They're mad that Hal broke the rules of war to beat the Sabres but I think he made a good point. He showed how just like his plane the Sabres can go only so high. And he also showed that unlike people computer's can't change their mind. A military pilot knows what their plane can't do. A computer won't stop until what it was told to do is done.
The issue is once you get into a maneuver like that you better know your plane will be the one to stall out last because once you commit (in either position) someone is very likely going to get shot down. If you break off pursuing then the other plane now has an energy and height advantage and will be at minimum on your tail if not already having shot your plane down. But the drones should have been programmed with the scenario given it was a notable maneuver used against rookie American pilots in WWII flying Wildcats and the like where they would chase a Zero until they stalled exactly like the drones did for an easy kill. It also burned the Japanese pilots hard when the Hellcats were introduced having the power to push past where the Zero pilots had expected a Wildcat to stall and having said Hellcat still climbing as the Zero pulls out expecting a stalled Wildcat.
Imagine if they made this like a Green Lantern prequel movie. A super hero movie following Hal Jordan but played completely straight with absolutely no super powers or sci-fi elements.
I don't think the Sabers would have followed him above the engagement limit. That seems like something that would be hard programmed into a drone. Don't fly where you will stall out. They would have circled like sharks underneath him waiting for him to stall, drop like a rock, and get blown out of the sky. Still cool scene.
Yes, but if they just stayed and circled down, he could just head back and fire on them from above, which would be easy since they aren't going up. The AI planes were dumb for both following the same plane in the first place during the dogfight.

The government should've given them the go for this project since no one would've been daring enough to head above the atmosphere and besides that the drones did outfly and outsmart many pilots so this one incident should've not been that bad.
Two issues with this scene: a) They go from checking weapons to fighting the drones nearly immediately without strongly indicating that the transition took place, and b) they go from being really close to the ground to in the clouds in two seconds. Hal used Carol as a decoy so he could get behind them, but because of this unexplained transition from the ground to the clouds it seems like more time has passed than makes sense. So it seems like an extra plane came out of nowhere that then disappears after two cuts and that Hal used Carol as a decoy for no reason as he didn't come up behind them until significantly after they shot her down. I'm not the biggest fan of F-35, but this scene was portraying it in a REALLY castrated way lol When I watched this in theatres I laughed because of the entertainment value, but I wanted to cry at the amount of holes in this scene. F135 engine has the hottest core of all jet engines in the western world. If the previous-gen Flankers fly at 60000ft, then F-35 will not flame out at 50000ft. Locking onto targets when you have ESA radar (active or passive) takes no more than 2 seconds. So them taking this long to lock onto targets is funny.

i never realized her name was carol and she has the captain marvel logo on her helmet
Carol aka Captain Marvel is Marvel comics. This is based on DC comics. Like what are you even talking about
@@SHINIGAMI_CHIKUBI69 that's what I mean its a DC film with a cap marvel reference
@@Diiwiin99 Carol Ferris (DC) 1st appearance was in 1959 with her super villian alter ego Star Sapphire making her debut in 1962.
Carol Danvers (Marvel) didn't make her 1st appearance in the comics until 1968. The logo you see in this clip is seemingly that of the airforce. Technically Marvel took the idea and name of Carol Ferris from DC and made her a hero instead of becoming a tragic villian
Shazam was originally Captain Marvel
