CABARET Anita Gillette-Larry Kert-Lotte Lenya (Live Audio '68)

Excerpts from a December, 1968 performance of the original production of "Cabaret," at its third Broadway home, the Broadway Theatre. The leads are Anita GIllette (Sally Bowles), Larry Kert (Clifford Bradshaw), Lotte Lenya (Fraulein Schneider), Martin Ross (Emcee), George Voskovec (Schultz), and Rhoda Gemignani (Fraulein Kost). This was recorded primarily to capture the performances of Gillette and Kert. A substantial amount of dialogue is included, and the sound is quite good for a vintage audience recording.

oh how I cried...oh what musical theatre used to be! Lenya doing What Would You Do? All that brilliant dialogue so well acted and directed. Anita so perfect. Kert never better. Thank you for the tears.

My good friend I have dreamed about hearing something from the original run of Cabaret I wish there was the whole thing I would love to hear Lenya's songs as well hopefully someone will unearth that soon enough, great find
