Rest in peace Jose. I have no interest in the Marlins as an organization, but Fernandez was something special-this is the first time I've actually full-on cried in years. What an unspeakably horrible tragedy. He could have blossomed into one of the greatest of all time.
I read the story about his accident, and I was upset. Then I watch this video, and I was devastated. Then I watched it again and I actually cried. So young, so great, such a bright future...
RIP. Electric stuff, even after tommy John. One thing I'll never get was his home and road splits being wayyyy better at home. Still, unreal pitcher & unfortunate he left us so young
Jose was our Fernando Valenzuela. The local kid who you just knew was going to be an all-time great and that everybody in the whole community loved to watch. I truly believe that if he had lived, Jose would have become a hall of famer and an all-time great pitcher just like Fernando was for the Dodgers. Jose was enormous for the Cuban American population here in Miami like Fernando was for the Mexican American people in LA.
being a mets we seen him quite a few times over the years and I always told my buddies he's no doubt a future hall of famer.. it's sad to think of how many more years we could of played against him.. rip bud
I was at this game. At the time, I was like "I haven't heard of this guy, but damn, he's sharp." He won the NL rookie of the year that year, and after seeing his blazing 2016 return, I figured I attended a future hall-of-famer's first game. And then that shocking, surreal Sunday morning hit.
UN grandE EsE MUCHACHO EN SU POCO TIEMPO AQUÍ..DIOS☝ LO TENGA EN UN LUGAR DE PAZ CELESTIAL..ahorita hubiera SIDO UNO DE LOS MEJORES LANZADORES USA.☝👤🙏💙⚾💪👌
Amazing how much times have changed. He was seen as one of the biggest flamethrower in the league. Now day 95-97 is nothing special Bobby Miller is 97-102
So now that the season has ended has your opinion on Fernandez changed? His ceiling is as high as Felix's and I believe his back story will provide more fire than what Felix has. That was what I was stating. Fernandez wants it more and Felix takes his skill/talent for granted.
Lol you couldn't be anymore off the mark with you're comments. First of all, he's in the best shape of his life right now, and gets more fit every year. Second, yes he has lost velocity but it doesn't matter because velocity isn't a main part of his game. Its all about the wicked movement of all his pitches. He most certainly will never be as good as Felix Hernandez.
Still too painful to watch... I loved that kid. When Jose died he took the Miami Marlins franchise with him. Miami will never have another face of the franchise like Jose again.
Yasiel Puig, maybe? He'll be a FA this year if the Dodgers don't offer him arbitration and he's still very much in his prime. Truthfully speaking, I think Miami's tailor-made for him at this point in his career...
not a chance...well, actually, maybe there is...in the larger picture Puig turned around a Dodgers team that was on the verge of falling apart, but Fernandez has had a better season overall...albeit, for the miami marlins (a team that isn't going anywhere for a little bit) ...hopefully Fernandez gets it, I have a feeling Puig and Ryu will split votes...
He was supposed to pitch sunday but got pushed back to Monday. If he hadn't gotten his start pushed back he wouldn't have gone out partying or on a boat. He might have still been alive. But 1 thing is for sure. That wasn't the first time he did cocaine.
the death that possibly lead to the marlins dismantling, bet u the core would hav stayed had jose not gotten on that boat, jeter would hav ben impressed enough to keep the core intact
Miguel Cabrera syndrome? So you mean he's the best player in the league at his position...I totally agree with that. Felix lead the A.L. is ERA right now, and hes pitched 200+ innings for 5 or so years. Let me know when Jose does that. Not saying he isn't going to be a really good pitcher, but don't start with the "better than Felix" talk.
And that doesn't make any sense at all saying he has more stamina because he's older...no sense. I don't know why you would even bring that up, pitching has nothing to do with stamina. He's also not fat at all, you have no clue.
I know the first comment was gonna be r.i.p Jose but why would you drive at 2 am going full speed that's wat happens when you take drugs but still r.i.p😢
Felix is lazy with his fitness and has lost velocity. I dont think this kid will ever be complacent after what he's gone through. If I were starting a franchise today, this guy would be top 3 pick for me....over Felix. I am NOT saying Fernandez is better than Felix on this day but I wouldnt rule out him being better than Felix in a year or two.
Felix is fat. He may have more stamina but thats because he is older not because he's in better shape. He's got Miguel Cabrera syndrome I think. Oh and Fernandez has a .195 BA against and a 2.71 ERA. He's 20! Go check Felix's numbers when he was 20. 4.62 ERA.....although Im disregarding his age 19 season LOL
Rest in peace Jose. I have no interest in the Marlins as an organization, but Fernandez was something special-this is the first time I've actually full-on cried in years. What an unspeakably horrible tragedy. He could have blossomed into one of the greatest of all time.
Hahahaha he died
Johnny Loves Steel Balls shut up
As a Yankee fan may he rest in peace Jose Fernandez I still felt terrible about the news.
@@willyrodriguez10 what is wrong with u...
I read the story about his accident, and I was upset. Then I watch this video, and I was devastated. Then I watched it again and I actually cried. So young, so great, such a bright future...
The command on those pitches was just UNREAL. #ripjose
Man I loved watching him pitch, even tho he terrorized my Phillies. Rest in Peace Jose🙏
I am in awe I cannot believe he is gone.
RIP Jose, one of the most talented pitchers of this generation
RIP. Electric stuff, even after tommy John. One thing I'll never get was his home and road splits being wayyyy better at home. Still, unreal pitcher & unfortunate he left us so young

Pelotero Cubano I could beat you up any day ha

+Bodie F weirdo replying to comments from a year ago
Pelotero Cubano Lol sorry, you looked like a dumbass
+Bodie F sure thing gayboy
When i say this I mean it… this guy had the talent to be one of the Goats… absolutely unbelievable talent… gone too soon
If Fernandez was alive he would've been proud.

Crazy that the NL East once had Fernandez,Scherzer, Nola and DeGrom in the same division all at once!

From what I've seen, Jose was one of the most selfless individuals on the planet. Kid spread positivity wherever he want and took nothing for granted

0:31 okay (throws pitch)
I know that a lot of people were brought here after his death.
Sucks that the dodgers didn't pick him up, We'd have an even more deadly starting rotation with him
imagine Kershaw, Fernandez, and Jake A
+Bobby Granderson who's Jake A?
+Matthew Dumas Jake Arrieta
+Bobby Granderson u don't have Fernandez or Arrieta though haha. That's like saying Imagine the Giants had Bumgarner, Scherzer, and Noah Syndegaard
+Matthew Dumas that's why I said imagine
He's gonna be out of Miami as soon as he hits free agency and who could blame him?
NOT ANYMORE! R.I.P.
RIP

Its really devastating what happened, but when he was drunk double the legal limit and has cocaine racing through his body then what do you expect
