YES!!! Fred needs a back up and the Rockets need 3-point shooting. Combining Reed with our other young talents will make our second unit dangerous for sure!
HE IS OUR GUY. The last and only young talent we miss: a true PG. He’ll run the second unit in place of holiday and he’ll play as a shooter with the first when needed. He can be our next FVV.
He might not play as much at least this year so yeah he would probably take that Aaron Holiday role and would only play because of injuries. But he would be the perfect player if we don’t bring back FVV after this year
Love it Reed Sheppard is probably the best fit for us out of all prospects in this draft. He can be a point guard and a shooting guard meaning he can play with Amen Jalen and Fred. He can shoot the basketball he probably the best shooter in this draft which is something we need desperately especially since Jalen Green Amen Sengun Dillion Brooks they aren’t the best shooters. Also he a smart defender so Ime would love him and he can definitely learn a lot from Fred. The only weakness I have concerns he like Fred the shot creation might be an issue. But those weaknesses could be negated when you have playmakers like Sengun, Jalen Green and Amen on the team. They can create opportunities for Reed on offense for open threes. His floor is like Grayson Allen, I could see Tyus Jones in his games. His ceiling is really FVV ironically and Mike Conley is another good comp as well All in all great video fellas
I love it. Elite shooting on a team that desperately needs it in a draft that doesn’t have a lot of players with elite traits. No one will care where he was drafted 5 years from now.
I'd prefer Dillingham over Reed. The size scares me but he is one of the few players in this draft who has that star factor. A better passer, scorer and almost as good at 3pt shooting.
We already have a solid 9 man rotation so whoever we draft will be slow tracked at first. Immediate needs are 3 shooter and back up ball handler incase Fred gets hurt. Long term needs to fit in with the young core are ball handling, a tall defensive center, and potentially a 3 shooter if their numbers don’t trend up. I think a guard (with good defense) would be best to draft this year and I think Sheppard has the best chance of immediately contributing and filling in a valuable roll long term if we stick with this young crew (which we should) Go Rockets!
I love the fit for Reed Shepherd for the Houston Rockets. He is a shooter! He is a floor general-style PG (just like Fred). Learning from Fred, will only make him better; and he is already great! Plus, he will create consistency with the PG position for the Houston Rockets. I am not concerned about his lesser ability to get downhill or finish at the rim since H-Town has so many great finishers already.
"For Sheppard, an undersized 2 who's more limited off the dribble, Amen Thompson would also be the ideal backcourt partner with his creation/playmaking and ability to defend bigger guards. Been on the Sheppard train since the game vs Tennessee. He needs to be a rocket. He is a perfect fit on this team. Elite shooter and good defender. At worst he is a solid three and d bench player. Don't overthink it. Take him at 3
