Terrible looking sandwich with too many ingredients .mixed with the shrimp...Typical pot head stoners coming up with weird food matches because of their munchies from the Weed!! Scale of 1 - 10 I'll give you a 4 Minus!!
Love the realness and staying true to self. This is how everyone I know cooks in the kitchen, from chef to home cook. Please stay the way you are Brothers!!
I live in NYC but the hubbs and I take mini trips to Philly. Getting the know the city. We love it there. We went to the tourist trap spots, Geno's and Pat's They're both equally gross. We fed them to the dogs. lol Our last trip, we went tried Maxx's in north Philly. It was great IMO and you can order a sandwich the size of baseball bat!! Don't say I didn't warn you!! We went early in the day because locals told us not to go in the late evening cause there might be a hella long wait (1 hour or more). We have yet to try Dalessandro's and Jim's on South Street was closed for the day. So this summer we will try both.
I'm from Philly & I would say the Spot for cheese steaks is "One Pound Cheese Steaks" it's a Staple for many years & MaX's steaks on broad St💯❗️South Philly is over rated for cheese steaks lol u gotta go 2da hood..Also lucky seven in Willow grove has amazing cheese steaks..
There are a number of places in Philadelphia that make great cheese steaks. Jim's is one of my favorites. Tobias making bacon jam...I would love to try that recipe! Just to name a couple of places...John's Roast Pork, Ishkibbles , Mike's BBQ, Lorenzo's on 9th Street, Vincenzos... Phillip's, Pats, Geno's...they are all a little different, but all good!
Lets go! The #1 sin of all cheese steaks is a lack of seasoning on the steak. I don't know why they screw it up. I also like to add ketchup or Heinz 57 sauce to mine to add some sweetness to balance out the richness. The bacon jam was a good touch.
Philly homie here. The steaks I grew up eating the most were Holiday pizza on Stenton ave. Also often from The Hoagie Factory on Ogontz ave, Pagano’s on Ogontz, Jim’s, and Geno’s in South Philly, and Mimmo’s pizza in Mt Airy. We even wrote a song called Mt. Airy Groove on our second album,(We Are One) in 1982. I was 17 at the time. Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five even sampled our song and used it to make one of theirs, (without permission I might add). Pieces Of A Dream is the name of our group. Now y’all gonna make me go to Whole Foods the next time I make a cheesesteak. 🎹♥️
At Jim’s u gotta make sure u tell them u want salt pepper nd whatever else bkuz they’re super respectful they give u Exactly what you ask for they care about their customers and they care about their customer service
I was waiting to see what spots you hit. Dalessandro’s is the best cheesesteak spot period, I will argue anyone down about that. Whole debates have been sparked in my household behind this.
Every Philadelphiaian has their favorite spot to get a cheesestesk. Most places don't put salt and pepper unless asked. My order is mayo, ketchup, mustard, fried onions, s&p either American or Whiz.
Love your channel… can’t wait! The right toasted butter aïoli hoagie, good quality thin shaved beef and perfect sautéed onions and good quality provolone cheese and some Mr. Make it happen seasoning……secret ingredient would be the best in Philly!!
Just snooping around 👀 looking for tomorrow's dinner for the fam, and now I know for sure that God sent me🤤. Friend, u never disappoint. After ur masterpieces, of course, Dalessandro's #classic always hits best💪🏿. A must-have whenever we stop through. Keep doing ur thang.💯
Next time you come to Philly, try Max's in N. Philly. They are delicious and you can get an extra large one! Not that anyone needs an extra large cheesesteak but it's worth getting one for sure 🤣 Paganos in West Oak Lane also has a decent cheesesteak.
@@Naz38511 everyone has an opinion and not everything is for everyone. If you like Ishkabbibles better, I love that for you. Enjoy. The last times I had Max's they weren't greasy. And it's in the hood but calling it ghetto is subjective. It's not South Street but that's okay. There are lots of decent hood spots and Max's became more touristy because it increased in popularity and is open late 🤷🏾♀️
@@stephaniewhitted4592 I feel you and I don't mean the place is ghetto like nasty I mean the area...I don't send people that's not from Philly to that place especially things I witnessed around there

As a Philadelphian, I'm glad you didn't fall into the Geno vs Pat's trap. Of course yours is better than all.
Thank you!!!
Yes
Facts but I wish they would’ve went to Ishkabibble‘s instead of Jim’s
Philly girl here and I agree. Those two places are tourist spots and just flat out disgusting.

Great plan! Max’s is solid and always consistent! Delasandro where they went is probably top 3 locations.

As a Philly girl I would suggest visiting the corner stores which we call "Papi Stores" or going to Max's on Broad and Erie.
