For everybody looking for the foam, Lok bought it from a street electronics market in Hong Kong called Apliu Street.
He did find a similar one, that has been bought by a viewer ("anubis221") from here: amzn.to/2OORoeg
The feedback from "anubis221" is: "Very snug, but it works great. You have to cut the back down slightly."
How many do you have to cut? I don't know, but from this measures the width should be around 33mm and the height shorter than 60 mm, you could try searching deeper into Amazon or Ebay for this measures. And/or ask "anubis221" how much did he cut.

Rumor says they're going to USB-C *this year*. But time will tell.

OMG I hope not! Read the rumour about that but you know rumours, just keep repeating it and one day it will be true or got forgotten! I do doubt it, as people had already got used to the Lightning port, it offer everything USB-C offer, plus the USB-C port is just thicker.

Tho I think it is ridiculous that an Apple user, using an iPhone, has to get a dongle to connect their phone to their laptop.
I can't wait for Lightning to be phased out so we can all go to USB-C accessories (in the interim, I'd be a lot happier of the USB-C power adapter always had a USB-A port).
Lok Cheung The latest is that they may be legally required in Europe to go with USB-C for standardization purposes.

No I found mine locally, it was originally for headphone mic; I saw some on Amazon but I can't be sure about the size

Shure MV88 has done the iPhone lightning connector for a couple years now.
Yep there are several Lightning port stereo mics from different brands including Røde for a long time; lightning port shotgun mic is the first time though I think

Audio is more important than video (to an extent). I use a lapel mic with my iPhone and it works great.
If I use the zoom application with this, will I be able to hear both the other party's sound and the title sound with earphones??

Now the only issue I have with this mic, it seems to have a 2 or so second lag before the mic begins to capture sound from pressing the record button. It’s pretty annoying as other mics are processing sound from the get go. Is there a way to fix that? I saw that issue happening when you 1st plugged it in that it took seconds to kick in

Can't you use the audio-lightning port adapter on the older video mic me?
Yes you can, but you then have to find a way to mount the mic, which defect the purpose of the VideoMic Me which is simply plug into the headphone/Lightning port; would rather get the VideoMicro in this case!

Yes I’ve got mine from Apliu St! Those outdoor stalls, a coupe of them have loads of these foam hanging outside with different sizes for you to pick. Try another one if the first one you go don’t have the right size

How do you deal with smartphones only recording in 30p not 24p?
My problem is I shoot 25p in Hong Kong! I just have to let FCP to conform them, or if it don't have to sync to other footage and I don't need the audio, I have to play at native frame by frame, so it got slower for a bit

Honestly I do not see much different of the mic quality. Maybe when windy or at bad noisy place, the mic would make bigger difference.
