    Always loved the nuances of the Pumpkins live performances...they weren't content to be jukeboxes and play songs exactly like their records live....many of their performances are raw and on the edge of their sleeves.

    As far as you take me, that's where I believe, the realm of soft delusions are floating on the leaves. On a distant shoreline she waves her arm to me... etc wow brilliant lyrics, music as well

    It just gets better and better! This is what a proper live band sound like! Jimmy Chamberlain is the reason I play the drums

      The Siamese Dream tone is largely responsible for me switching from 6string to bass. I’m not a bad guitar player but bass sort of feels like home, you know?
      Chamberlain, for me, is one of the top 5 drummers of all time.

    Dude 1992-1997 were the best years of music. The years where every popular band at the time had a completely different sound than the others. The Pumpkins. Tool. Nirvana. Pearl Jam. Hole. Jamiroquai. The Cure. Radiohead. Even fucking Snoop Dogg was awesome back then.

  • @RastaSaiyaman
    @RastaSaiyaman 12 лет назад +9

    I remember reading in magazines that Pumpkins were the nineties' Pink Floyd. This song is a perfect showcase on why people perceived them that way. They never were about short punk anthems like Nirvana, they were a prog rock band.

    i've literally had 7:06 onwards on reapeat for the last few days. That guitar solo/free style is so incredible. I think it is even superior to the recorded version of the song. The emotion is so raw - it sounds like Billy's guitar is dying

    you have good point Tskbludemons on jimmy
    drumming techniques, the different drum sticks he uses, its the begining of the song has that mystical feeling then BAM! the drums
    explodes, then return back to be solem again
    notice 7:12 and 8:06 are sheer great of jimmy'
    talents

    I saw them on the Mellon Collie tour in early 1997 - I remember during the final minutes of Porcelina (they played a longer version) Corgan and Iha both had their backs to the crowd. Unlike the reverse-hand he did in the video, he was turned around in front of one of the huge speakers working the feedback like a surgeon. In his latex longcoat it was a bit surreal.
    I have never seen so many people so quiet in awe during a concert than at that moment. It was pretty close to spiritual.
