    Congrats on the awesome runs! Loved watching this little shrimp! 👊🏻

    Little ripper! 70+ mph in such a small boat is a great achievement. I guess you could get it close to 80mph on the speedrun spot! ✌️

      Thanks dj, never would have thought I'd get 70 out of this little boat, completely insane. Next nice day we'll try the river, I think the only limitation is the topside shape of the sponsons. I think they will catch air and pick the boat up at high speed.

    That was great Big B, the 2968 is a strong motor. When I retire 7 years from now I’ll finely get around to building my drag boat of witch I have 2 2968 3400kv motors to put in it, right now I have that same shrimp rigger with a 2860? 2900kv should be on the water soon. This video has bean a great inspiration to get it going again. BGFL

    Very cool little rigger and your doing some great work on it. The speed run rush looks just as big tho? Lol...

      Thanks sam, yea it's definitely a rush, nothing like the big ones but just as fun, these smaller boats are simple to modify and tear apart and modify again.

    Nearly 60,000 revs great work man
    Cool temps high volts who’d of thought it.
    Your so quick to see the sponson lift on that short run.
    Sam Halstrom uses the curved turn fin adjustment to actually hold the sponson at the exact perfect spot for speed and to hold the front down. It might be worth playing with the adjustment with it back on, as you know Sam is getting amazing results.

      @@IRONCLADRC rockets motors yep they sure are I have a 2968 3400 kv in a 26 inch carbon fibre rigger and it’s as fast as the tp motor I lost in 25 foot of water.
      I’m getting 121 kmh (75.2 mph)
      Out of this thing pulling a 4216 abc cleaver copy in stainless steel.
      Really low temps.
      That’s why I was keen to know your kv I was going to suggest a prop like mine but at 4000kv your in a world of your own.

    Do Outrigger boats ever flip over?
    These boats seem so efficient with speed and turning.
    Thanks for the great video...

    Some thoughts about your prop: If it tends to be "bow light" with one prop versus another, that means the particular prop has less lift than the comparison prop. It does that by having a more focused thrust cone. Where does the lifting energy the prop created by having a wide thrust cone go when you focus the cone down? It goes into producing forward motion. I'm thinking that is one particularly good prop and you may want to dedicate it to this boat. It's a real good combo.

      Wish you could have seen this prop before I modified it, we'll you probably did in one of my older videos it was jacked up. Rolled both leading edges over almost identical, I actually left some of the roll on the leading edge almost like it's been professionally cupped. If I had to guess the blade area ratio iI'd say .25 Blade area, original BAR was .45, & 4mm smaller in diameter... it's a keeper!

    i like it it is faster then most rc cars what kind of wood did you use to build the boat i bet if you change to a heavier wood with a wider body you can get higher speed

    Im guessing the offset (to the left) drive line helps with prop walk?

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  Год назад

      Yes, sir, that's correct. You can also achieve the same results offsetting the tub using the sponsons offset it to the left helps with prop walk.

      The wood kit is relatively cheap shrimp outrigger kit 40 bucks on ebay, motor 40, esc 40, hardware 40, prop 30, Battery's 30x2. Around 220 used Give or take of course

    • @OswaldHollingworth
      @OswaldHollingworth 9 месяцев назад

      That total seems quite low for the speeds you got, i might have to get one!

      @user-to5vz8de8e I used bass wood, thin CA & epoxy.. Basically, I made a cardboard template first with hot glue them pulled the pieces apart, & used them as a template
