I agree. I moved my ring finger into the pinky slot and i have way more control now!

When ur putting ur hand into a glove its all about personal preference. I put my hand in NORMAL, becuz Ive tried that and it did not work for me.

Wait a minute, so you don’t put each finger in it’s delegated slot? So your pointer finger slot is vacant? And you get more control that way? 🤔 I’ll have to try that because it sounds ridiculous.

Derek Jeter wore his glove with all his fingers in each slot and his index fiinger out on the top of the index slot, it looked like his hand was out of the mitt because his glove was smaller and he closes his glove thumb to middle finger and not thumb to pinky

plus wore a batting glove underneath. I'd say the majority of infielders do traditional. I dont know why she mentioned jeter as doing 2 in the pink when its completely not true

Ya I can’t use a small glove. It’s all about personal preference. I can’t catch anything with 12 and below inch glove mines 14 or 13 and it’s slow pitch and I’ve tried normal ones and I have no clue how people use that junk

maybe it's your skills that are junk and not any glove smaller than a novelty foam finger. you're probably better off with an 18' glove than some smaller piece of junk

It’s because your not good enough for the smaller gloves 😂 😂. Only good infielders can play with 12 and below. You probably play right field

Thanks for the question. Are you playing slow pitch softball or fastpitch softball?

I just saw i added to a comment a year ago from an original comment from 3 years ago. if jeter was your favorite player you would've studied everything about him from mechanics to gear. he and most middle infielders never go 2 in the pinky. the advantages of 2 in the pink become disadvantages at ss and 2nd, not so much 3rd. at ss for example you want the ball to just 'slap' the glove while you're already transitioning it to your throwing hand. if you have 2 in the pink that makes more room for the ball to move inside the glove and not get a good throwing grip on it. traditional grip with a shallow pocket will make you squeeze thumb to ring/middle finger so you almost always know approximately where the ball will be. look up omar vizquel practicing a quick transfer just warming up. its like your eyes need a minute to adjust to what he's doing and how hard it actually is

Thanks for the comment! That is some excellent info for players needing to determine whether to wear their gloves regular or with two in the pinky slot!

Bought a A2000 glove for my daughter playing 12u and the ball keeps popping out very hard leather and she said catching hurts her hand . Switched to a cheap Mizuno glove ($89.00) leather much softer and no more balls popping out .

+Thao Vu Really depends on the age of player, position, and their personal preference. For softball, 11.00 inches is really a Youth Utility size. Check out our Glove Coach for size recommendations: www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
