      @JustGloves  3 года назад

      Thank you for the question! Webs are typically just a personal preference of the player using the glove. Outside of the pitcher's mound (where a pitcher will probably benefit from using a glove with more of a closed web), you really can just select which glove has a web that you think looks the coolest!

This specific R9 comes at the regular wrist setting, but you can unlace the wrist lace after you receive it and make it tighter if needed. Let me know if you have more questions!

      13 years old is usually when we start to recommend the gloves designed for high school and adult hands. Even if the glove is a little large in its fit at the start, you should grow into the fitting of the glove pretty soon.
      Here is one to check out that should be able to work for multiple years of use in the 11.5" length with a modified T-web.
      If you were to get the glove and the fit was larger than you hoped at the beginning, you could cinch up the wrist lacing to make the glove tighter.

    • @JustGloves
      @JustGloves  3 года назад

      Thanks for the question. If you feel like outfield is a position where you are likely to specialize and you just play very sparingly on the infield, my suggestion would be to get an outfield style glove that is larger at 12.5". It will be a little cumbersome on the infield, but if you only play there every now and then, it shouldn't be a huge deal. A 14" glove actually isn't bad to have if it is being used for the correct purpose! Typically, the 14" gloves are reserved for use in slow pitch softball [Baseball technically doesn't allow for a glove larger than 13 inches to be used. However, I don't know if umpires regularly check ballglove lengths]. Since the softball is so large, the ball won't get lost in the long length of the glove and since slow pitch players are typically a little older, the extra length can assist in making some plays that might otherwise not get made.

    The FIRST and foremost factor in making any decision is the cost, everything else is relative. If you can’t afford the bigger and better glove, force your hand in… it may mean eating or not eating tonight. What is the most you are willing to spend just to toss a ball around with your children? The next thing is healthcare, since we have no universal healthcare in this country, like other more advanced industrial nations… do you really want to be tossing hard baseballs at your children?

    What I can not understand is all of this nonsense they are spouting. A proper glove size should depend on the size of the hand for proper fitment just like anything else, not the age of the player. There are kids who have bigger hands than adults, and vice versa. The spacing and reach of the fingers and the width of the palm and sizing of the thumb is far more important. Where is the data on measuring the length of the fingers, the width of the hand, the breast of the thumb muscles etc. Nothing about actual sizing and measurements. Absurd.
