  • In todays Agilite K-Zero review, we dig into this brand new carrier and see what new features it has. I want to know if it keeps that same insane comfort of the K-19 plate carrier. I'm also curious to see what interesting customizations Agilite added as we move into their next generation of plate carriers. Do you think we have a new leader? Lets find out!

      I'm not broke from gear anymore. Now I'm broke because I built an Aero 5.56 in FDE, and decided that I would build a custom .450 Bushmaster upper for it, also in FDE using Aero parts. Then I used the lower from my 5.56, and ended up switching in a Springco red spring, and H3 buffer. Now I am custom building another lower to put back on my 5.56. It's like it never ends. LOL

    I remember when you did a review of the back flap for the k19, glad to see the design guys at agilite know how to pay attention to detail. If the warfighter can't hook into the k-19 using the g hooks I'll be a little upset though, because I'm also in the camp of people who like the original cummerbund so I never bought the addon and it would be a real shame if that wasn't taken into account. We'll see what happens when that drops

  • @xAODx117
    @xAODx117 Год назад +14

    It looks nice, and I think its an exciting first look on a slick version of the K19. They really thought extensively on the convenience part of the PC, with cable management and all the hook-and-loop for modularity, and I think they're onto some really cool concepts. I think they missed some of the core features that many people expect these days- such as the missing plate support straps as you pointed out. But no drag handle? No quick release feature for the shoulder straps? (Features that even the old JPC 2.0 have 🤨) I understand wanting to be more lightweight with a smaller profile, but I think they could have still achieved this without losing some of these basic features.

    • @JamesMelton
      @JamesMelton Год назад +7

      More and more people are forgoing a drag handle. That is, people who actually use a plate carrier for work. It was deleted here because of that reality, and consumers need to catch up to that. I'll 100% agree about their internal support straps, however. That one seems odd to me, because that was a primary selling point for the K19 and really helped to set it apart. The shoulder strap release thing feels like something they can't get a break about. Everyone hammered the K19 for the QD shoulder buckles, and then here again they get hammered for not having them. Where they come in handy are vehicles. Yeah, it's super nice to have so you can rip off the front bag and get to a wound, but you're just as likely to need a set of sheers to declothe someone anyway, and you'd end up just snipping the shoulder straps. Either way, it'll be another deciding factor for people.

    • @mortalitydoesstuff8965
      @mortalitydoesstuff8965 Год назад +3

      Drag handles are bad. They've always been bad. So many products have been designed to try to fix all the problems they present, and at this point most people are forgoing them entirely in favor of tubular nylon or in Agilite's case the Buddy Strap. Would I rather have one than not if my life depended on it, yeah, but in the presence of so many better tools available for the same job I just don't see the necessity to add them anymore. It sucks that it's one more thing you have to buy, but in the end you're getting a much better solution that's not gonna choke you to death on your own carrier before you bleed out and the person dragging your near lifeless body to safety might actually get you there if they get to keep both hands on their gun

    • @rickmorty7166
      @rickmorty7166 Год назад

      Carry some webbing that you can deploy around the upper body of your “victim” and the carry handle isn’t that big of a deal. Also, as someone who wears a vest at work daily, the drag handle can be used by someone you’re fighting with as an anchor point. It’s really, really hard to break their grip once they have it.

    • @theskyrider3455
      @theskyrider3455 Год назад

      If you really want a drag handle you can attach the AMAP3 to it which has one or use a different back panel that has one
      No qr buckles on the shoulder straps are actually an advantage.

    • @ThinLineDefenseCo

      I use them to hold an additional mag and a radio setup. I've kinda gotten away from them as they're really designed to hold the mesh radio that isn't even for civilian use. So there are starting to be some way better expansion methods such as Shaw Concepts.

      I think all of their stuff is made in Vietnam or Taiwan...somewhere over there. I've had a K-Zero for almost a year and wear it weekly just about. No issues with mine so far. Some of our viewers use K19s for work and wear them daily for hours. Haven't heard of issues with them. You can always join our discord (link in description) and ask folks over there.

      I'd love a TLDco review of this one. I'm a K19 owner as well, but it weights like twice as much and the materials retain a lot of water. The padding is wonderful, but that also traps heat near the body, and I run super hot - always have. I'm strongly considering the IcePlate EXO (and in part because I qualify for a discount and need to apply) because it's on the other end of the spectrum. They offer padding that is designed to add comfort similarly to the K19, but with different materials that should negate the issues I mentioned.
      I respect their take on stuff and would enjoy their thoughts!
