Tamasha was really way ahead of its time. I bet after 20-30 years people will consider this as a legendary movie just like they do with many of the 70's or 80's films. The monologues in this movie are just phenomenal and the wonderful acting done by Ranbir and Deepika keeps you involved throughout this 2hrs 19 mins of a masterpiece. There's always an audience for different individuals, but critics sometimes stop the audience from finding the show and the show finding the audience. ~ Richard O' brien
I watched this movie 6-7 months ago. It took me long after its release because of people around me gave a feedback of ‘boring’ movie. But when I started watching it, not a single frame of movie was boring or useless for me. Specially the song Tu koi aur hai jaanta hai Tu. Reviews from people like you encouraged me to watch it. THANK YOU
Thank u for bringing up this. These movies aren't for commercial audience. It's grt to have channel like urs to come up with such a great content. Thank u once again!!
How can anyone not like TAMASHA? It made me cry and I loved how lyrically woven this movie was. The visuals, the storytelling and the dialogues were stitched together with such perfection, I couldn't help but smile and cry hysterically.
I don't expect a story like tamasha to be understood by many let alone be liked. "Find your calling"... Most of the public would be like "matlab kuch bhi":-P
@Krishna Chaitanya lol what's wrong with you? Smug seriously ! Where? There is something called mass appeal and then some subjects are niche.. That's about it.. Don't opine for the heck of it..that is low IQ! Movie is a masterpiece indeed.. And it's totally subjective.. You can find judwa 2 captivating.. That's subjective too...
This movie gave me a lot of strength but dats another thing that iam still fighting with tough times as handling a big family in ur early 20's is too tough task, My father would be feeling proud of me seeing from up there.. Agar tum saath ho.................
Being a cinephile, i was very disappointed by the response india gave to this film. Tamasha is one my all time favourites and is the closest film to my heart. So brilliantly acted, well directed and great cinematography it's one of my best films our bollywood has given us. I'm so grateful to this movie it changed my whole life. Tamasha can be put aside great movies like scorcese's taxi driver which has many similarities to the character of Ved. I've watched almost every other great film thorughout the world and i can say that tamasha is genuinely a masterpiece. I love this line from tamasha,"Andar se to hum kuch aur hi hai aur bahar se majboor." Thankyou, imitiaz sir you are the one of the most talented filmmakers and one of my favourites. Also ranbir was amazingly brilliant in this film.
The world wasn't ready for this masterpience movie.... it has such a unique story with so much of depth with a full package of bollywood style entertainment. Just that the audience at that time was not mature enough to understand the movie. Also, we now have a medium to watch a movie whenever we wish to, thanks to the OTTs. So that also adds to the situation I guess.... I am so glad the time I watched the movie, I had the mind to get it❤️
It's true this movie is not everyone's cup of tea, the majority of audience like to see 'masala movies' nowdays.. this is sad, because personally I got lost in this movie, I was feeling so strange when it finished, it made me reflect to much. An emotional movie, a masterpiece as you said, like Imtiaz Ali Sir's all movies. Thanks for making this video, I really hope people will go to watch this movie, but the problem still is that just some of them will understand it
This movie had really great impact on my life, especially when he tries to study maths during engineering, it actually relates to me too. I always thought I do better than whatever I'm doing now, and whenever I tried, everyone came to make a laugh on me. Whenever I feel low I watch this movie, I'll always have this movie in phone along with Rockstar & The Dark Knight. Thanks a lot for making this video.
I feel pity on people who compare Ranbir Kapoor with Ranveer Singh. Ranbir Kapoor is on another level, he has always been. From Rockstar to Barfi to Tamasha to Sanju, he kept on outdoing himself with each and every movie. A superstar who never forgot he is an "actor" first. It's a treat to watch him on the screen. His acting is effortless. And last but not the least, this man has got the guts to take risks and bring something new and experimental everytime. He might not be a favorite among masses (which doesn't matter), but he will always remain the favorite among the classes.
@@rajatbameta2601 To any true cinema lover or a person who has an iota of knowledge about films, masses doesn't matter. Yes, it does affect him, as he has put up in many of his interviews, but only because he has producer's money riding on his projects and any actor would like his movies to be hit. The big thing is even after this he tries doing challenging and unconventional roles.
Krishna Chaitanya Like kuch bhi. Seriously you think that having a Ranbir's picture as my profile will affect bad. And dude I'm not the first one in the history who is using actors picture. Not a big deal at all. If you don't have a valid point to comment on then matalb kuch bhi bologe ! And ya I'm totally obsessed with him. 💖
Watched this today... I am 37...and I burst into tears...most unfortunate Part...in my life I never ever met a Tara...all the people just reminded me that I am a failure and I need to strive Harder to be acceptable to them...as if I was built faulty and needed to repair myself...and vast majority of my life I believed and lived on their terms and conditions...
I just want to say a dialogue which you yourself used in your previous video, "Do you know the meaning of insanity? Doing same thing again and again and expecting different outcomes!"
As a Teacher, I completely agree with you and repeat something very similar to what you have said and what Mr. Ali have tried saying through his movie. Hopefully, I am more successful in guiding and mentoring high school kids while they choose their subjects. I generally do not comment on such platforms but you are doing a very good job with every video you upload and your passion is quite visible and audible in every second of your narration. All the best!
Just fabulous,i dont know how many times I watched this jem. In sad phase, happy phase and neutral phase. Just something new I catch whenever I go through this fantastic masterpiece
Imtiaz Ali is one of the best directors and Rockstar and Tamasha are my two favourite films from him. He starts the movie very unconventionally and treats it so for most part but when it comes to hitting it out of the park with a daring conclusion he gives in and succumbs to familiar tropes.
@Krishna Chaitanya There is so much to explore in Self-Discovery and Coming of age films that it doesn't matter how many he makes on the same subject as long as they don't suck. He has succeeded each time except Jhms.
This video was beautiful. Not only because of the content it surrounded but because of the reality described so beautifully both by the movie and Anmol. I loved the way how this concept was put into words by you, it really hits you in the gut.
I had quit my job 2016 after watching this movie. When I was in the theater, at the boss scene, I had decided time to do what you like the most. I loved it when I first watched it as a 16-17 year old! I could related to it and I do still.
There's always an audience for different individuals, but critics sometimes stop the audience from finding the show and the show finding the audience.
~ Richard O' brien
So true! So pervasive
Thank u once again!!
just one word: beautiful. the emotions this movie made me go through were strange yet made me realize what type of world we live in. BRAVO
How can anyone not like TAMASHA? It made me cry and I loved how lyrically woven this movie was. The visuals, the storytelling and the dialogues were stitched together with such perfection, I couldn't help but smile and cry hysterically.
I don't like it.
good movie very well made but not everyone can relate to it so everyone won't feel the same about it
I don't expect a story like tamasha to be understood by many let alone be liked.
@Krishna Chaitanya you are an idiotic pseudo intellectual troll. Looks like you got no validation anywhere else. Stop advertising yourself seriously.
I get a lot of things to add in my verbal glossary from your channel 💓💓 💓
Indeed tamasha is a underrated masterpiece
Just watched it on Netflix and I came back to thank you for suggesting this masterpiece to us!
This movie gave me a lot of strength but dats another thing that iam still fighting with tough times as handling a big family in ur early 20's is too tough task,
My father would be feeling proud of me seeing from up there..
Agar tum saath ho.................
This is one of the best video you ever made! About one of the best but sadly one of the most underrated movie.
Apart from Tamasha being a masterpiece, thanks for letting us see the other side of you. Kudos. That was hell of a video.

Can we still focus on the good part that is "Tamasha" , thank you !😊
You are right
But the collection of both the movie had a difference
JHMS had a good collection
But Tamasha not that much
No...Tamsha earned more than JHMS....JHMS earned around 60cr and Tamasha made 70cr+ but Both movies were declared Flop At BO
This is what happens when you don't accept a movie that deserved to be a hit
@Krishna Chaitanya have you seen "highway"? It's not the same story, both the guy and the girl are lost in their own way and save each other..
I am so glad the time I watched the movie, I had the mind to get it❤️
This is beautiful.. Thank you for making ppl understand what this film is all about... Classic of Indian cinema
Your English glossary is amazing
It's true this movie is not everyone's cup of tea, the majority of audience like to see 'masala movies' nowdays.. this is sad, because personally I got lost in this movie, I was feeling so strange when it finished, it made me reflect to much.
An emotional movie, a masterpiece as you said, like Imtiaz Ali Sir's all movies.
Thanks for making this video, I really hope people will go to watch this movie, but the problem still is that just some of them will understand it
Same goes with me ❤
This movie had really great impact on my life, especially when he tries to study maths during engineering, it actually relates to me too. I always thought I do better than whatever I'm doing now, and whenever I tried, everyone came to make a laugh on me. Whenever I feel low I watch this movie, I'll always have this movie in phone along with Rockstar & The Dark Knight. Thanks a lot for making this video.
One of the best videos of yours! Thanks for spreading the beauty of this movie!
He is the favorite of classes.....well put 👍
Ask to ranbir.. does masses doesn't matter??
wah kya English bolta hai
@@rajatbameta2601 To any true cinema lover or a person who has an iota of knowledge about films, masses doesn't matter. Yes, it does affect him, as he has put up in many of his interviews, but only because he has producer's money riding on his projects and any actor would like his movies to be hit. The big thing is even after this he tries doing challenging and unconventional roles.

Most of the #Ranbir's movies are not everyone's cup of tea. They are like masterpieces and classics to remember in future for upcoming generations.

What do you mean ?
Krishna Chaitanya
Like kuch bhi. 💖

Everything will be fine brother...i am 24 old . If you want to give advice to me. what would that be ?

This one either u love love it or u absolutely hate it..
Man u r a gem as well to mention it so many people need this . Keep up man totally awesome.
Even I loved the movie. But I can understand the problem of our Audience. Truth hits hard.
You are doing what you really loved!kudos....
luv u sir...for such an amazing video🤗🤗
Thanku so much for making this video man .. it's one of the most underrated movies ..
I think Jammy made this video to get the same point across. Tamasha despite being an excellent movie didn't work because of those exact reasons.
This video was beautiful. Not only because of the content it surrounded but because of the reality described so beautifully both by the movie and Anmol. I loved the way how this concept was put into words by you, it really hits you in the gut.
THANK YOU! This kinda made me cry.
I had quit my job 2016 after watching this movie. When I was in the theater, at the boss scene, I had decided time to do what you like the most. After 5 yrs I have no regrets, enjoying life, doing what pleases me. Tamasha movie has given a new fresh direction to my life.

undoubtedly one of the best videos you've made, jammy. thank you for reflecting the thoughts of lovers of this film.
The movie is very good nd beautiful....
At first I watched the movie in bits and pieces then came the last scene where Ranbir narrates everything to his dad and I was in tears at that moment...I rewatched the whole film again and it made me sad about how it failed at the box office but surely it is one of the cult films from Bollywood.
Ranbir does it again and again. And i don't know how he makes me cry. This connected me so much.
I think this is your most beautiful narration till date 👏🏼keep up the good work
