    I had to watch this since I am making that delicious looking pineapple stuffing and using fresh pineapple. Thanks again.

    I always thought it must be mighty difficult to cut a pineapple until I saw this.... You have made it look so so simple. Those million pineapple 'eyes' used to worry me and I invariably ended up buying the precut ones. Will certainly try this method next time I get a pineapple. Thank you very much Produceguy. I learned something today.

    Keep it up Produce Guy! I grew up near Del Monte's Pineapple Plantation in the Philippines and that is exactly how we locals cut pineapple. Simple and fast.

    My trip is not until March. I would like to have any and all information that you can give me about what to go see there. The Mahogany Market sounds wonderful. I will be in San Pablo for a good portion of the trip. Are those two locations near each other?

    thanks for sharing! pineapple is a must have in my house! i do cut it the same way you do, by the way. most of the time, i cut as close to the skin as possible (even with black pieces) and cut that layer off for juices.

    you make everything seem so easy... If I used one of the corkscrew cutters, how can I cut out the core and use it as a vase or make a tropical drink container from it????

    • @PennyPanda100
      @PennyPanda100 10 лет назад

      The bottom and the top would be cut so it would leak (A LOT!!!) and it would probably stink after a while and start to get moldy.

    Comment and a question. I'd like to point out that the close-up helped a lot, but I think an HD camera would help even more.
    My question is, you said the core still tastes good but it's chewy. If I was putting the pineapple in a smoothie, should I leave the core in? It would blend it up so the texture isn't a problem. Or should I just take out the core anyways because it doesn't contribute much? Thanks in advance.

    Any recommendations for good knives? My knives never cut through things as easily as yours do!

      Invest in carbon forged knives and a Block brand sharpener to keep them in shape. I also have a $400 sharpening system called the Wicked Edge USA, all of my cutlery is scary sharp, the Block sharpener keeps them touched up.

    It's in the southern part of the Philippines. Quite far from San Pablo. You can always check Del Monte's website (I cant post it here). Enjoy your vacation!

    I love the silicone cutting surface, but if you put a bit of water underneath, it won't slip around as much. :D Cheers!

    Sometimes i'll just let the core be and eat it just due to pure laziness, same with the missed pieces of skin :P Thanks for these videos, i was a bit iffy about a honeydew melon i had bought today but its squeaking up nicely.

    Suggestion: How to eat any fruit with no tools!! I think that would be a fun video and not everyone has an awesome knife like that. Perhaps kahrate-chop the pineapple?? Haha, so much possible creativity with fruit.

    I prefer to remove the core before the skin, so that I can handle it by the skin as long as possible.

    Someone by the name Ariyan posted:
    " Don't throw away the "woody core"! That's the most nutritious part and contains the anti-inflammatory bromelain. Put it in a blender to make a shake and take in all the goodness :-)"

  • @hotpartygirl20
    @hotpartygirl20 9 лет назад +1

    Sorry but your cutting it the hard way. Easier way: cut off top and bottom. Slice skin off going from top to bottom. Then cut in 4ths. At this point you can cut core from each with a solid slice. The rest is for you to enjoy.

    Why do most people discard the core? I'm paying most for my juicy pineapples so I best be getting my moneys worth, and that includes eating the darn core.

  • @LESTER7L1
