  • Hi guys,
This video is super short and a little wild, but I had wanted to vlog some of our first hike of the year. We had a lot of fun visiting a new state park and getting to venture onto the Appalachian trail! It’s so magical to know we could have kept walking all the way to Maine or Georgia. I had an off week for running. I had some knee pain the day before and even riding the stationary bike bothered it, so I only ran 1 mile this whole week, unfortunately. Luckily, we were able to hike for 5 hours and that gave me a lot of time on feet. And I didn’t have any knee pain! Tyler and I are also hiking to Macchu Picchu in May and we need to start training again. This hike checked both of those boxes.
This video is about: hiking, trail hiking, appalachian trail, spring hiking, 50k training, 50k, ultramarathon, ultramarathon training, marathon training, hiking vlog

Hello again. Happy to see you went on a hike. Those slow hikes really are the building blocks for buildings strong legs, ankles, and endurance.
Yesterday my son and I did the AT Trail in Harriman State Park in New York. The thing about my area is the trails are extremely rocky . It's so rocky that it actually beats your legs up. We also
did about 12 miles with 2800 feet of elevation gain. We did an out and back and on the back we went a little faster which really beat us up. We should've done it slower because by the end of it, we were both really spent.
    Keep on enjoying your journey.

Hikes really are the best! I'm so glad I worked that in instead of a long run. It sounds like you had a difficult but good hike!
