Remedy and Poets of the Fall simply belong together, their music and Remedy Games are awesome!! Alan Wake 4 Ever❤ How long did we have to wait for Alan Wake 2 and it is one of the best Games of all Time for me!!🎉
a thing that blew me away when playing through this segment was how the light reflected from the screens and into alan's suit, this was the first game that felt next-gen, I have no clue how they managed to achieve that. also I loved how the guitar solos looped until you advanced in the stage, reminded me of Metal gear rising
That was one of the greatest sequences in a videogame i've ever experienced. Not just videogames, any media ever. Thank you remedy and thank you old gods of asgard.
I just have to say one thing, thank you very much Mr. Sam Lake. With this scene you have given me one of the best moments in my forty years as a video game player.
It was at that moment where Alan Wake 2 became my GOTY. 2023 has been filled with a lot of amazing games like Dead Space Remake, Hi-Fi Rush, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Super Mario Wonder, Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy 16, Hogwarts Legacy etc. and most of them are deservedly GOTY contenders but in my opinion, none of them subverted my expectations in a good way as much as this game. You can tell how much fun the developers and actors had while making this level. This is the level of creativity that only Remedy could pull off in a survival horror game.
This section went unbelievably harder than I expected. Remedy did an amazing job with the creativity put into Alan Wake 2 and this section really showed it. It also helps that this song is a certified banger in all aspects
Просто эпик! Сидел с отвисщей челюстью и не мог сдержать слез от того, на сколько же сцена впечатляет. Музыка просто отпад! Боги Асгарда, как всегда не подвели!
The guitarist has no right being THIS GREAT 😂. Like, wtf? He shreds better and far more tastefully than many modern shredders out there. He was obviously influenced by the likes of Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen (that lick at 08:54 is as clean as Yngwie, wtf?), Eddie Van Halen and Paul Gilbert. What a monster. How is he not more famous amongst the guitar community?!?! I can't believe that he flew under everybody's radar... until now. He's technical, has feeling AND, most importantly, is tasteful with his notes. Seriously, the entire "guitar wank" section starting at 08:35 gives me goosebumps. He just goes berserk and unleashes all his influences. Almost as if he gets possessed by other guitarists. It sounds like many players, yet it's just this guy. Goddamn 😂. And for all the non-guitarists: yes, what he plays in this entire "We sing" section is as difficult to play as it sounds. You need to practice 8+ hours per day for many years to become this good. This guitarist is ridiculous. Dafuq 😂?
Am glad someone else noticed this. He really went hard with this song. I hope more people notice as more people discover this song. Poets of the Falls truly has some incredible jems, and they really went over the top as Gods as Asgard for all the songs they did for AW2.
Remedy, you guys killed it. Just like From Software, you gave me back hope that there are developers and writers that can still create an amazing and unforgettable experience.
Hands down. One of the best moment in a Videogame created. It got EVERYONE by surprise and everone I watch is vibing to it or theyr jaws dropped down to the ground. The Song is a insanely good factor too... imagine if they'd perfom this song live at the Game Awards with Sam Lake, Ikki Villi and David Harewood dancing like in the musical...
Thank you guys for your work, when the musical started in the game, my two-year-old daughter came into the room and watched to the end. Very cool, my respects!
This blew my mind in so many ways. Thank you Remedy for daring to go this way. We need more creativity like this in our games. Also Rock in games should be a standard 🤘
I think the best thing about this is it doesn’t really have any spoilers for the second game. It’s a retelling of how Alan got to the Dark Place. I might be wrong but I love that it’s something you can show to people and it doesn’t really spoil the game.
The musical segment of Alan Wake II is probably the single greatest scene in any video game from 2023 and arguably just any video game ever. It's an incredible scene in its own right, but I think what makes the scene the MOST special is the fact this literal theatrical rock opera epic is in a fucking SURVIVAL HORROR game and like somehow it doesn't feel out of place???? It takes a certain kind of madman and genius to make that work and I can really think of no one else who could pull it off, but Sam Lake. Like Alan Wake II at times feels like the modern equivalent to Silent Hill 2 and is one of the scariest games I've played with some of the most tense atmosphere I've ever experienced in a game as well, but then there's things like this over-the-top live action song and dance number in it and it somehow just fits perfectly instead of ruining the tone. That's just one among MANY reasons why this game is unlike anything else out there in this medium. Such a genre defying, one-of-a-kind experience that honestly everyone should play through it for the artistic merit alone because that's what Alan Wake II IS. A legitimate work of art. Thank you Sam Lake, Poets of the Fall (Err I mean Old Gods of Asgard), Matthew Porretta and David Harewood all for creating such an unforgettable moment in gaming history!
I couldn’t put the words to it myself, this is great! The whole chapter makes me genuinely emotional. Just hits SO hard. What a fucking special videogame.
Me at 3:00AM after I finished this chapter and go to bed for sleep. My brain "SHOW ME THE CHAMPION OF LIGHTTTTT" "I'LL SHOW YOU THE HERALD OF DARKNESSSSS"
I've played all the hits this year and this my Game of the year hands down. I hope Remedy made gangbusters on this game as they deserve every bit of its success. This is when we can call a VG a work of art and pushes the medium forward truly wonderful story telling.
Not only is t perfectly in lore in the weirdness of the dark place and whatever Mr door is doing giving the whole sequence a lot of extra power. This song also just works so good So catchy and such a top class banger
Just finished 100% completing Alan Wake 2 and got the platinum. Such an incredible experience and this chapter was probably my favorite of them all. Insane to hear that folks on the team were trying to cut this whole segment. So glad Sam & team fought to keep it. S tier work.

@@jarskil8862Ya see you need to play Alan Wake 1 or watch a playthrough of the whole game because otherwise you're missing out on a lot of the context, it's like watching Revenge of the Sith or Return of the Jedi before any other Star Wars movie.
But yeah, without context a lot of this seems like a fever dream.
@@jarskil8862Absurd, but very fun
“Drinking wine…like an asshole” is my favorite line 😂
I like how it just acknowledges how absurd this all is lol
How many awards is this game going to get. Technical, Art, Sound, Music, Innovation, Narrative, etc the game went in a direction most people would be scared to make.
Alan Wake 2 got 2 awards at TGA🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This segment in the game will be forever in my mind as one of the greatest moment in video games. Alan Wake 2 is a masterpiece and Old Gods of Asgard are the best
This was quite possibly the greatest scene in all of video game history. Thank you to Remedy, Poets of the Fall, and the incredible cast!
I really want to see the old gods do this one live. TGA maybe?
Jesus Christ I can only get so excited haha.

@@zhmihlo Oh yeah, just for the dance. From a production pov, they could use the pre recorded bits with video from the game itself for the singing parts. Or have them done live as well.
This game did something no other game has ever done! It's a true masterpiece of fiction and gaming!
In all honesty Alan Wake 2 deserves all the nominations it got in each category for the Video Game Awards!
Great job to everyone involved!
Also this song freaking slaps! ❤
One hell of a Survival Horror game, soundtrack, and I even really enjoyed the Avant Garde Surrealist horror short film contained in the game that's entirely missable. These guys went ALL out in creating a multi-dimensional, multi media masterpiece - a work of true passion and artistic ambition that nobody else in AAA gaming would even attempt. I will also tip my cap to CDPR for Cyberpunk 2.0 & Phantom Liberty telling the most heart breaking and tragic gaming story of the year - what a goddamn epic year for games, & I haven't even gotten around to playing Tears Of The Kingdom, FFVI or Baldur's Gate 3 yet!
@@b1thearchitect401 Really, what a YEAR. I finished FFXVI wich i loved, as imperfect as it is. HiFi Rush, true gem, Sea of Stars, instant indie classic, RE4, what to say ? Baldur's Gate 3, absolutely incredible, my personnal goty for sure. And TotK, with one of the best zelda ending in the serie, and THIS ?? I was not waiting alan wake 2 at all, but it's absolutely incredible.
@@b1thearchitect401 Crazy games this year. Bg 3 was a masterpiece too.
Thanks for mentioning RE4 Remake & Hi-Fi-Rush, both are fucking amazing as well. So many masterpieces this year I'm forgetting some lol - In terms of pure game design, RE4 Remake might actually be the best overall video game of the year but I don't think it has a shot of winning anything because it's a remake. That game's combat system and pacing is so perfect, and the remake managed to thoroughly improve one of the greatest games ever made. ALSO Dead Space Remake was fuckin awesome too! Holy shit this year rules lol @@eudes45
To bad if you want to play this safely and spyware free you have to pirate it, I am so sad this company ruined their company by selling out to Epic and phone home spyware.
Here to hope one day it comes to steam or a non launcher for everyone who cares about their privacy and information can play it, I own everything else they have made and was looking forward to Alan Wake 2 just to learn they screwed us over by selling out to Epic.
Thank you Remedy and thank you Poets for blowing all of our minds collectively. This is beyond anything any of us could've seen coming.
WE'LL ALWAYS ROCK OUT WITH THE OLD GODS OF ASGARD! 🤘
If Poets started playing this live that would be the coolest thing ever
The Game Awards are coming up, might see it there
@@SwagBroPlaysI’d sell my soul to The Dark Place to have this play live at the award show this year
@@SwagBroPlays I would be happy with this one or main song for Phantom Liberty
If Alan wake 2 is nominated for GOTY, I expect this song would be included in the GOTY nominees medley

Another certified BANGER of a song. Alan Wake 2 was worth the 13 year wait! Patiently waiting for Control 2 next :)
Control 2 LETS GOOO
Isnt a Max Payne Remake coming first?
@@omnissiah7859 Yeah but it’s not the next step in the story. It’s more like looking back at a great game. Rather than getting the next piece of the puzzle
Это шикарно. Вокалист на припевах - до мурашек по коже. Спасибо за шикарную работу и не менее шикарный вокал!
This song gives me the power to lock in while playing Destiny 2 PvP. The Champion of Light's power literally flows through my veins when it comes on.
If you guys are not performing this live at the Game Awards this year, we need to start a riot.
This chapter earned Alan Wake 2 game of the year for me. 🔦
You guys NEED to perform this at the Game Awards!
I’ve been gaming for over 20 years. This may be the craziest chapter in any game I’ve ever played and only Remedy would have been dreamed off this let alone pulled it off.
Truly the goats 🐐🐐
Remedy and Poets of the Fall simply belong together, their music and Remedy Games are awesome!! Alan Wake 4 Ever❤
How long did we have to wait for Alan Wake 2 and it is one of the best Games of all Time for me!!🎉
Like Croteam and Undercode.
An absolutely brilliant section of Alan Wake 2. Best thing I have played in years. Joyous. Banger too
a thing that blew me away when playing through this segment was how the light reflected from the screens and into alan's suit, this was the first game that felt next-gen, I have no clue how they managed to achieve that.
also I loved how the guitar solos looped until you advanced in the stage, reminded me of Metal gear rising
This chapter of Alan Wake 2 is now a milestone in video game history! This was so amazing! you rock!
Hell yea! I'm keeping one of the save slots just for this one so I can come back and play it again and again. It was so cool to run through.
A literal banger, this song flows so well that I forget it is 13 minutes long. Here’s hoping it will be performed at TGA!
That was one of the greatest sequences in a videogame i've ever experienced. Not just videogames, any media ever. Thank you remedy and thank you old gods of asgard.
The only band I know who has videogame characters singing with them on stage
Sam Lake: Poets, how long is your song gonna be?
POTF/OGOA: Yes
This section went unbelievably harder than I expected. Remedy did an amazing job with the creativity put into Alan Wake 2 and this section really showed it. It also helps that this song is a certified banger in all aspects
I would love either this or Dark Ocean Summoning performed at The Game Awards 🙏
Dark Ocean Summoning would go insane, this would just be a blast to hear on stage though
If they got the actors in, this one would be unbelievable. Otherwise I think best to go with dark ocean summoning.
Guess what happened
I LOVE the musical vibe of this one during the dialogue parts!
Beautiful Game Awards Performance 🎉🎉🎉
And the award goes to... ALAN WAKE!!!
For me as a musical nerd, and a metal head, this was a dream come true sequence to play. Masterfully crafted, thank you so MUCH
Просто эпик!
Perfection! Now we need an in-game video clip version!!! PLEASE
more up votes for this request please! 👍🏼
I need to see Ilkka dancing, oh lord
I hope this song makes to TGA. Alan Wake 2 should win a GOTY
Another banger from the Old Gods of Asgard, they never misssss!!!!!
Best section of the game, can't wait for more music from Poets and Remedy!
She sounds like she's gonna grow up a fan of rock and metal.
This blew my mind in so many ways. Thank you Remedy for daring to go this way. We need more creativity like this in our games.
Also Rock in games should be a standard 🤘
I can loop this song ALL DAY LONG. God, what a banger.
That was perfectly said!
I couldn’t put the words to it myself, this is great! The whole chapter makes me genuinely emotional. Just hits SO hard. What a fucking special videogame.
Me at 3:00AM after I finished this chapter and go to bed for sleep.
My brain "SHOW ME THE CHAMPION OF LIGHTTTTT"
"I'LL SHOW YOU THE HERALD OF DARKNESSSSS"
"Catchy, isn't it?"
Incredible! When you thought you knew everything about how Poets write and sing and then they hit you with these amazing songs!!!!
Everything is perfect in this song: lyrics, vocals, guitars and meaning 🔥
I've played all the hits this year and this my Game of the year hands down. I hope Remedy made gangbusters on this game as they deserve every bit of its success. This is when we can call a VG a work of art and pushes the medium forward truly wonderful story telling.
