    • @BusinessWithBrian
      @BusinessWithBrian  3 месяца назад +10

      @@airstra right. Change the 2% expense ratio to 1% and you improve performance by 1%, yes? My pt is that the expense ratio of an ETF matters, it always has mattered, and is why most non-professional; i.e. moms and pops, passively invest with low index ETFs with super low expense ratios; e.g., VOO has an expense ratio of 0.03%.

    • @BusinessWithBrian
      @BusinessWithBrian  3 месяца назад +1

      @@johnj4094 You sure did. VOO has a dividend yield of 1.3%. That does not meet the requirements I listed in the very beginning of the video of having dividend ETF with a Yield greater than 5%. It would be like someone coming in and asking why SMH wasn't on the list. Totally different playing field for different needs. Volatility is also vastly different between these funds. If you're aiming to retire off dividends, it's crucial to save for a substantial investment. My top picks are SCHD and VOO, among a few others I can't disclose. Remember, you can't expect to turn a thousand-dollar investment into a million-that’s where many people go wrong. Investing isn’t a lottery! Make realistic investments. While being ambitious is important, there’s a big difference between ambition and unrealistic expectations. For instance, last year I invested $80,000 in stocks and earned about $246,000. I reinvested that amount and am now approaching a million.

    I invest in the PTMOM fund. Particularly Thin Mouldy Old Mattress fund. It consistently returns a one-to-one yield with nominal growth and smells a bit. I'm poor af.
