Yes, more please. It's more entertaining than just reading the wiki myself. You can do this for all of the teams. I vote for doing all of the different lineups of the X-Men, Avengers, and so on.
West Coast Avengers was nuts and I loved it. I’m glad they’re giving them more love. Defenders was another one I enjoyed as a kid and want to see more figures from. Fun video Dave.
I actually really enjoyed this kind of video. As a newcomer to Marvel comics I’m trying to learn the most that I can about these older storylines. Please keep them coming!!
Great job Dave really enjoyed the show today! Very nostalgic for me as I owned West Coast Avengers from the very beginning. Not sure how many issues I grabbed back in the day. I did grab an issue when it went to Force Works that didn't work! I'll need to pick that 5 pack and a few others to complete my West Coast Avengers. Props to this show ❤❤❤❤❤ed it 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
I have fond memories of the early issues. They had no name for the letters(!) page in 1985, and I was one of the ten who sent in "West Coastlines" which they used. I was sent an acetate of the cover issue #3 Kraven. My "No-Prize" !
I loved all that when they were starting a new line of books and they had to set up the letters page I had loads of old comics and I loved reading the letters page on them Great story mate
Great stuff, Dave! I literally have no emotional connection to the West Coast Avengers, but after watching your “Wiki” breakdown, I’m certainly intrigued to open up my Unlimited app and take a look. I guess if you want to be more academic about it, then you could site your sources or just boil it down to something like “half-baked Internet research” before giving the audience the info. Honestly though, you putting the effort to put this together while connecting it to actual action figures is enough for me! Keep up the great work 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Excellent Video Dave, love the charisma. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Wasp or Quicksilver. I believe there was a pretty dark story regarding Wasp & Pym. I believe that happened in Avengers West Coast.
I am with you on Robby. I really want Marvel Legends to do good versions of *all the Ghost Riders* ( and with all the proper flaming or glowing accessories ).
I didn’t grow up reading comics as a kid and Marvel / DC and I still can’t believe Iron Man was a b-list character. I thought he was an A-list because I grew up watching his animated cartoon and he was featured in Spider-Man TAS, but nope, it wasn’t until his live action when he blew up.
I love the concept, and you should do more! Should probably avoid the longest-running teams like X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four, though, unless you do a specific incarnation of them. And hey, I don't mind if action figures are missing from rosters, as surely will happen, it's good to have the reminder. Cheers! P.S. Although your figure suggestions were overall pretty good and complete, for normal Iron Man, I would have suggested that Iron Man with the Tony hologram head, which would be cheaper than the better 80th anniversary Iron Man. Speaking of which, more work, but if certain figures are particularly expensive, it would be nice to mention.. Thanks.
Hey, Dave. I am so sorry if the comment on your recent live-stream came off as a complaint. My quality was just awful. I really love your content, Dave. Keep it up! ❤
I need the new Tigra figure! Loving the muted orange and the new head sculpt. While I love the radio active Cheeto Tigra the sculpt, double jointed arms legs and pinless body was my favorite ❤️
Good video. A walk down memory lane. And yes, Avengers/WC Avengers def dealt w/ dark subject matter. It tackled drug use (crack epidemic of 80's) & the drug war. It covered suicide and the reason Rhodey was IM was because of Tony's alcoholism, yeah?! I can't quite remember the timing of all that, but it did bleed into WC Avengers.
Indeed, this was a fun video! And yes, while Tony helped in founding the West Coast Avengers he was also still dealing with his alcoholism for many early stories. I enjoyed reading and collecting these issues of Iron Man and Avengers West Coast.
Dave, this was fun! Nice summary of the West Coast Avengers! Nice idea for a video that is very much on-topic with what Marvel Legends is doing. It's particularly good for younger fans who don't really know much about the WCA. We don't have a Graviton, or a Count Nefaria, or about a hundred other figures because Hasbro just likes to keep remaking the same figures over and over again. At least, it seems that way. Lately, we've gotten some new characters, so there's hope. Still don't have a great looking RETRO/CLASSIC Thing figure. The brow's never right--never big enough (like with the Walgreen's exclusive version), and they always give him the teeth, which is a primarily a more MODERN look for Ben. Also classic Ben didn't have individual pec muscles. He has more of a barrel shape to his chest without individual muscles being indicated. No defined abs either. I don't mind modern looks, but we deserve a classic Ben. Someday, maybe they'll work to get it right. Not holding my breath though. Tired of shitty "Retro" Human Torch figures too. If you're going to do "retro" give us a Human Torch like he was drawn in the 60s, 70s and 80s. No visible ears. No 4 on the chest, and so forth. Halfway attempts seems to be all we're ever going to get from Hasbro though. They can't seem to 100% commit to anything. We need a better classic Wasp too! The one they did had a GREAT head sculpt, but her costume was suck! A more familiar or classic look would have been better. She kept some of her costumes much longer than others, and one of those would be an improvement. People remember her red & black classic costumes, the white and blue striped Perez costume she wore when Taskmaster made his first appearance, and the original costume from the '60s. If you're doing a "RETRO" Wasp, she ought to have something that fits the bill a little better. Nitpicking? Sure, but I work in the comic book industry, have been a fan for 50 years, and declare it my right to bellyache like a true comic book fan! lol
I did enjoy this format….however I feel I would enjoy future episodes in this format if they were voiced exclusively by the ever lovin’ blue-eyed Thing! (And the Mockingbird / Peter Parker line made me pop)
I thought you'd mention Infinity Gauntlet because I'm pretty sure that story took place during the West Coast Avengers it I'm not mistaken. I love Infinity Gauntlet and would like you to talk about it.
I think they weirdly retconned the Mockingbird/Phantom Rider thing away in a more recent Mockingbird series. I think it's in the issue with the cover of her wearing the shirt that says "Ask Me About My Feminist Agenda."
I have an idea for a marvel legends spider man comic wave idk what the baf would be maybe the lizard you could suggest to me if you want the baf to be but the figures would contain an ultimate scorpion and prowler scorpion having a wire tail and interchangeable hands for both, and a newer lasher, also the spot comic version, also a tombstone, and classic chameleon thoughts
@DisplayingModelBehaviour look up supieor spiderman scorpion and tell me that wouldn't make a cool figure though maybe give him a deluxe box because of his build and tail or just give a bulky scorpion
Immortus used a magical item called the Forever Crystal to split the original version of the Human Torch into two separate bodies; one of those was taken by Ultron and rebuilt as the Vision. P.S. I would like to see you do one of these videos on X-Factor
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour cmon Dave you’ve already influenced me to purchase too many marvel legends. I beg you don’t use your sales sorcery with this five pack. 🙏🏽
Great rundown of my all time favorite team! Cheers, David! Force Works and regular old Avengers would be cool to see but geez the regular Avengers would be like a 5 or 6 hour video. I just did a rundown on the new Mafex Magneto. ruclips.net/video/NuIQtu0MfRQ/видео.html Did you get it yet? He's a brilliant figure by all standards. I can't recommend him enough. I am really missing my Quicksilver in the States. He's missing from my Avengers display and your video reminded me of just how much I need that figure, pronto!
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour Yeah maybe following some of the major storylines where the writers stayed the same or some of the more famous stories like the Kree/Skrull War, etc. Anyways it was very entertaining, especially since it includes so many of my favorite characters.
Yes, more please. It's more entertaining than just reading the wiki myself. You can do this for all of the teams. I vote for doing all of the different lineups of the X-Men, Avengers, and so on.
I better get started then!
Could there actually be a list of Great Lakes Avengers ?
(:
This is why legends are great. It gives people like Dave an opportunity to cover more essential corners of the marvel universe
And I’ll be doing a lot more of that!
West Coast Avengers was nuts and I loved it. I’m glad they’re giving them more love. Defenders was another one I enjoyed as a kid and want to see more figures from. Fun video Dave.
I’ll look in to defenders
DAVE!!!! OMG YOUR THING VOICE IS ASTONISHING!@!
I thought it was somehow edited it. It honestly freaked me out!
Lol thanks my friend. Was there sone audio tweaking? I couldn’t say ;)

Thanks brother! :)
Team requests!
The original Champions
The original New Warriors
The original Mutant Liberation Front
The original Generation X
Secret Defenders

Glad to see some love for the west coast Avengers. There so underated
Yeah I got a new appreciation for them
I actually really enjoyed this kind of video. As a newcomer to Marvel comics I’m trying to learn the most that I can about these older storylines. Please keep them coming!!
Hey thanks so much. I absolutely will do.
Can we take a moment to appreciate Dave having b-roll footage from his collection back home?
Bro the collection stayed but the hard drive came with me!
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour Hell yeah Dave!
Gravitons costume design & goatee are eerily similar to Count Nefaria.
Yeah they’ve got the same stylist!

Really enjoyed this low down on West Coast Avengers Dave and I learnt a thing or two!
Thanks brother. More like this to come!

I actually keep my Avengers all together, but I can definitely make a Complete West Coast Avengers if I want to.
Damnit you said Great Lakes Avengers and now I want them in figure form! Come on Hasbro! You say Haslab is for dream projects, where the GLA at?!
Get on it Hasbro!
Great vid! I’ve be one a huge WCA fan over the past several years. So happy to get classic Wondy!
Yeah and he looks great!
I still want a Robby Reyes ghost rider , but I did not want to pay that much for a car that I could probably make with 20 or more dollars
