@sailor vikas sir once L/b davit limit switches activates for heave up L/b further we have to use the brake handle . During that we have to by pass the L/b davit safety switch for rotating the handle to heave up the L/b

Whenever u heave lifeboat, we have to stop when davit reaches its stowage position, so limit switches are fitted on davits to automatically stop heaving further to prevent damage to wire ropes and davit structure.
Also if u are unable to stop heaving due to machine failure, thud limit switch comes into action to stop further heaving
@ sailor vikas sir I have came across this l/b davit safety switch.
In my last vsl our in Solas / LSA code.
This switch is particular required in gas carrier or any new imo resolution??

I understood your concerns, as per LSA CODE 6.1.2.6, this safety switch is required and in your last ship, this arrangement will not be their , but their will be some another safety device which will be fitted, which will prevent the rotation of manual handle, while lowering or hoisting under power.

What is tricing pendant and hanging off pendant?
Tricing pendant is used to avoid the swinging of the boat when the ship is rolling or listed and bowsing tackle is used to bring the boat near to the embarkation deck to allow the crew to embark safely.
Hanging-off pendants mean an appliance, provided onboard a lifeboat as required in Regulation III/16.2 of SOLAS, for hanging-off the lifeboat to free the release gear for maintenance.

It is found in the chart which shows true north and magnetic north along with magnetic variation for that particular region. It has 2 circles , inner circle is showing magntic north and outer circle showing true north.

When we try to launching the life boat, power failure occurs, what is the alternative way for launching life boat, Can we able to launch life boat with out current?
Lowering is always by gravity ...not by power.....only heaving is done by power, if power fails you can use manual handle to heave up lifeboat

Sir one more doubt ? Fall preventing device mean it's a sling right ? During the drill it helps that LB connected with fall.
Its available in sling and wire as well....yes it's an additional support but it has a special thing....once weight comes into this fpds they become permanently deformed so u cannot use same fpd for second time
