Where will i find what maintenance to do of LSA and FFA... like is there a manufacturers file? is it given in PMS of ship? And where is this information kept on board? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
U will find manufacturers manual each individual items, solas lsa & ffa code have, company sms have, manufacturer maintenance file have, MONTHLY LSA,FFA CHECKLIST U HAVE
Statutory inspection is inspection to be conducted as per statute ( law ) for eg- local laws of a country for carrying out an inspection of ship for safety reasons.. Mandatory inspection is inspection to be conducted as per Conventions like SOLAS. An international convention is not a law. It becomes law only when a country adopts the convention by ratification
Hey dude. I went through 3 hours of orals last Friday and still did not complete. Exam will continue this coming Friday. Examiner ask me an interesting question. I wonder of you know the answer? For the bouyand line on Lifebouy, what do you check for during the normal inspection? I answer just normal visual check 😅. Later on I remember maybe the length and diameter and ensure it can float. Wondering if there is more?
Yes there is more, should be non-kinking and minimum dia 8mm, breaking stress of atleast 5kN, length of line should be atleast 30m or twice the height between stow psition and waternline at lightest draft ( whichever is greater ) as per LSA code 2.1.4 😊
@@SailorVikas Noted. Length and diameter can check. Stow properly, non kinking can also ensure. Must be also attach to lifebouy. Do you pratically flush it with fresh water during your monthly inspection? Also I guess there is no way for us to test the breaking strength?

Wash if salty ....can't check breaking strength....but if u order it than u ll get certificate mentioned about breaking strength of rope
