Blade here, it’s actually good to see Wednesday doing OK after all the hard times….both clubs have eaten enough of that. The Derby’s will be something else this season. I definitely want your lot to wallop Leeds (you’re playing them soon) and I can see both clubs being in the top third at least, probably near the top end. It’s going to be an interesting season.

Sure he did really well. However when teams are in a desperate situation they have nothing to lose, similar to Rooney with Derby and I wouldn't say he is a good manager.
There are other managers as good, with more experience. Let's see after 20 games from these teams of similar standards who does best?
Millwall, Blackburn, QPR, Cardiff, Hull, Stoke, Bristol City, Oxford, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday. Let's see who's the best manager now this season. I haven't picked any top teams.

We had a scare towards the end of last season when he was being linked to a switch to Sunderland and I was just laughing out loud at some of the ill-conceived comments I read from Sunderland fans who didnt appreciate the rumour, such as "why do we want a manager from a club that's fighting for relegation", "if we get Rohl in then I'm done with this club", "this just shows we have no ambition" etc.
Rohl has been a breath of fresh air (understatement!) and we'll enjoy his stay however long it lasts. He's also a great guy as well as a great manager.
Although this was an amazing video, especially from an assumedly non-Wednesday supporter, the only thing I can add is that before Rohl came in, we could not see where any points were coming from, not even a draw, we were an absolute joke of a team and just praying we didnt get record low points on our way down. I'd already conceded that relegation was happening and it was about damage limitation; we were truly hopeless.

Been watching football and especially the Owls for far too long to get overexcited ..but this guy definitely has a proper something about him. Will see how this season pans out,but I am quietly optimistic, the signings have got off to a great start too but it's going to be a long season, the Championship is a bearpit.Danny has had a very good schooling with the setups he has been involved in,yes you could say in a similar vein to Mourinho's days under Bobby Robson at Barca.I like his attitude, the way he sets the team up,and we as supporters love him for that.Always a double edged sword though,if he does really well then he will be wanted and if the right job comes up,then we know we will lose him.But for now I'm all in and hoping we are in a for a great ride,he's at a proper club with proper fans and as long as Chansiri stays incognito like he has recently and gives Danny the backing he needs without screwing it up,then this is the first real bit of genuine optimism since Carlos got us so close.Really like Darren Moore and he did what he could with what he had,but i do believe Danny is a proper step up and we could be in for a good season. How good, depends what your expectations are...Up the Owls.

Without a doubt Danny Röhl will be one of the elite managers of the game. He owns his very effective principles and is able to translate to the players, he has empathy and all the personal skills, he can adapt to his playing squad with his principles in tact, he understands the fans and the heritage of the club, he deals in analytics and is extremely data savvy, he brings coaches in that have different skill sets and personalities to meet the emotional demands of the players. He just gets it 10000% over.
He’s relentless. His big quote is ‘we keep going’. He isn’t happy with one performance. He drives the team and demands the standards game after game. When we dipped at times last year, he led from the front and brought us back.
A very intelligent, football coach with all the traits of a leader. We won the lottery when we appointed him and we (Wednesday fans) need to enjoy the journey whilst we have him because it won’t be for long. I think we’re in for another climatic end to the season completely opposite to last year he’s that good 🤞🏼🦉

A very good summary - and you’re right, he will prove to an elite manager. I’ve been following Wednesday since 1966 and there have been some very good managers in that time - honestly! Even if he’s only here for the 3 years of his contract , IMO he will prove to be the best we’ve had - ridiculous statement I know!
I cannot think of any other occasion in my time where the atmosphere and overall positive feeling about the club has been like this. Some folk say ‘don’t get excited’ - why not?!
You only have to listen to & watch the guy to realise that he has the magic combination of people/empathy skills and tactical nous - it’s no surprise that all staff & players ‘love’ him.
Tells you something when players come to Wednesday because of HIM.
It’s extraordinary that he was overlooked in favour of Munoz originally (!) - and yet came back!
I do think to myself - ‘why did he choose Wednesday when we were in the state we were in?’ Why indeed - chance to make a real name?? He is destined to be at the very top IMO - unless Red Bull invest and ask him to lead a ‘project’ - new ground etc etc!! I live in hope.

    A couple of points...
The 5 loses in his first 6 games were not viewed, by and large, by the fans as a bad start. He started with the team completely on it's arse and devolved of any confidence and zero strategy but from his first game we could see movement in a positive direction, which built game on game, so he had the fans onside.
You say that the recovery last season was "all down to Danny Rohl". I can assure you that the players and the fans played a huge part!

As a Sheffield Wednesday fan of 76 years, and one who has the greatest respect for Danny Rohl, I advise caution. In my time I have seen many managers come and go, some came in like a hurricane, and went out like a breeze, others came in as a light wind and created a storm of good results. Time will tell. Fans are fickle, they are only interested in winning, a few bad results and Danny could turn from a God to a devil. Is Danny a future "elite"? I don't know, but what I do know, at this level, he is the best.

Subject: The Nest(a new stadium for the Owls)
The idea is to have a 200,000 capacity stadium near the M1 with rail, tram, airport and motorway access.
The stadium would features 70,000 seats down nearer the pitch, and 130,000 safe standing upstairs accessible by 10 gently sloping pedestrian ramps (employing a traffic light system.) It will be called the Nest, (North East Sheffield Terminal).
The stadium could also be used for northern cup finals, international matches and concerts.
The roof would have screens hanging from it and a specsaver type pair of binoculars would be available to all in need of them,(safe standing being farther from the action)
The safe standing upper area would be inexpensive and potentially free for children.
Also ten or more different countries could have Wise Owls soccer academies/vocational schools to improve the lives of young people even if they're not gifted at sports!
(Wednesday could avoid paying millions for top players like the boring clubs do and develop their own international Wednedayites with a passion for the club!)
    Please pass it on!

A good wine takes time . He needs a few seasons and we need him to stay . The amount of work and changes he has done the average fan wont even know about. He looks at now and 5 yrs all at the same time . Regardless of how it turns out at Hillsborough he will go far . Or has for has he wants to go . Im an owl 🦉 and will be in his debt for a long time . TROOPER

If the elite premiership clubs can afford to pay £100m for 1 player and also pay the player £1m. per week ,then some multi billionaire will recognise that Danny must be his next great investment. He will pay off Chansiri his poultry £7m. He will give Danny 's agent a whopping bonus. He will give Danny a £50m, for 3 years contract, paid up front straight into his bank account plus £500,000k a week. FOLLOW THE MONEY rsoles.

@@theiron2116 The club didn't sack him. He left by mutual consent.
Regardless of what happened that season he still took us from the bottom of L1 to the brink of Europe. Something like that doesn't happen by accident.
Rohl doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Wilder until he achieves something similar.
