I’ve been trying to figure out all the hate on this one. I revisited it after catching a lot of flack about saying I liked it. I really put some thought into it this time and I think it’s the little bit of barnyard funk as some people call it, but it’s like the rind on brie cheese, or the taste of blue cheese, mixed with pinenuts and a little oak. It’s definitely a savory whiskey versus a sweet one. It’s not my taste preference all the time but I don’t like blue cheese every day. A lot of people don’t like blue cheese or Brie at all.
Haha it's funny how unanimous the hatred is for this whiskey this video got almost 100k views on TikTok and EVERYONE disagreed with me so I'm definitely in the minority 😅
I think their sourcing or mash bill or recipes… has changed for potstill. Not the same as in years past. New and different. That may be why your review is different
I’ve had willet before and there’s nothing about it that comes off as fruity. Great looking bottle and nice aromas but the flavor was like drinking smoke flavored gasoline.
Willett pot still is $58 here and it's absolutely dreadful.. I can't stand it.. its a bottle I'm never buying again. Still sitting on the bar. Been there 2 years
Willet Pot Still is easily the worst bourbon on the market for the price point. I'll never make that mistake again. Go buy some Wild Turkey and spare yourself the disappointment folks.
A yes I can really understand the complexities and flavors of a beverage that is significantly populated with one of the world's most effective sensory numbing agents

In illinois you can find it all day for 50-60 but tastes like acetone. Sorry but strong disagree. Drain pour.

I just got some yesterday to try. I really like it a bunch. However, my amateur opinion is that it tastes like a Rye to me, I prefer it.
