Here’s an idea for a creepypasta: a boy and his mum are in a large empty shop a couple minutes before it closes but there’s no staff and all the escapes are locks and something seems to be following them:)

@@paleoleft I was vaccinated as a kid, rabies was one of the many shots that we got... In what country they don't automatically vaccinate against rabies?! It is rare for the animals around my country to even have rabies, but kids still get the vaccine just in case. Also a tetanus shot is given just in case.
And you don't have to run into the hospital for the vaccine, you come to get it if the animal seemed rabid (had foam and acted unusual) and it is ok if you get the shot inside few *days* , meaning they should have driven back to their home area's hospital in the morning. What kind of people don't have basic first aid kit or disinfectant at their cottage?
Otherwise cool story, I simply think they should have gone to their home area's hospital, since it wasn't a real emergency. Going into a hospital that may not have the capacity to treat everyone in case of an outbreak in the are is not a good idea. Made me pissed.
If the protagonist had tripped in the dark and got stabbed in an artery by a dead tree branch or a sharp rock, them rushing to the nearest hospital would have made more sense and kept the sympathy on their side, since they didn't mean to go hang around in a public place.

I thought the same, did look it up says "Several years ago, treatment for rabies included 21 injections into a person's stomach. It was extremely painful and involved a long needle. However, since the early 1980s, there's a much different rabies vaccine to treat humans for rabies exposure."
Some places still give the series of shots in the abdomen, although usually only if it's 72+ hours after the wound occurs or if it's 100% guarantee the animal who has bitten you actually has rabies. In a small case scenario such as this (no proof the bat was infected, received shot immediately, etc) treatment becomes far more easy.

Far too often you have to wait hours and hours for to see a Dr.
...even with the tongue lashing from the Dr, it would have been perfectly wonderful to see someone immediatly.
And honestly, the Dr and Nurse had every right to be pissed.

I didn't pay attention to the storyline so I heard him going to the bathroom and then blood was everywhere so I was very confused as to where it was going. Then I heard rabies shot and I felt a little better. But only a little.

Nah they were too stupid and cowardly. The locals' extreme measures should have worked, not on the basis of them breaking quarantine but on the basis of just being idiots from start to finish. Eff the quarantine anyway. I'm all for breaking it. All the rioters did. Apparently covid doesn't attack rioters.

Apparently this guy has never had a rabies shot. It goes in your gut not your butt, is pretty damn painful and is something you’d try avoid unless you’re starting to foam at the damn mouth. Lol
