- In Grand Theft Auto 3, there are many interesting little things about all the missions. After researching, I decided there was enough content to make a whole video about them - one for each mission on the game, including main storyline missions and side missions.

“Silence the sneak” that mission I’ll forever be special to me because that was the mission that I got a “mission passed” and a “wasted” screen at the same time which is a rare sighting.
When I was doing "Gone FIshing" , the target killed himself when throwing the grenade during the scene lol

The fact for the final mission with the pedestrian riot cheat, really hit home. I turned mine on so I could have an easier time with paramedic missions because the gangs all hated me and would wreck my ambulance with no mercy. Turning that on would help take the attention off of me a bit. Funny thing is, I actually beat the mission with the cheat on. I had to get there and as soon as the cutscene triggered, run up the stairs, spin around, pull out my sniper and quickscope the guy shooting Maria. I’m sure you can imagine how long that one took me.
Damn, on the last mission too. Cool that you got through it though.

omg the paramedic missions had me fucked up!
Just make sure you do the first batch of them before crossing the mafia!
Paramedic is hard bcoz the ambulance loves to kiss the road at the corners when you're at level 6. (Shit that mission is soo hard, I still have it incomplete)

Completed the game twice and went out of my way to exploit this game as much as possible and I never knew this.

I did not know you can take misty for dinner at saint Marco's bistro but you must do this before you start the joey missions or she will refuse to enter the bistro, amazing such an old game can still surprise.

Such great and memorable missions for a game that's 18 years old.
in "Dead Skunk in the Trunk" two Forelli brothers will chase you in Sentinels if you enter the Manana, but it is possible to destroy booth of the cars for making the mission much easier and get a 5k bonus for each Sentinel destroyed
Pushing the Cheetah in "Last Requests" to the crusher, and crush it will fail the mission
The Rhino in "Arms Shortage" can be destroyed by any gun, becase its not even bulletproof.
"Gone Fishing" can be finished very easily using this method: go to the beach, and shoot the boat with a sniper rifle, then... just wait until the boat hits the beach and the driver left the boat. now you can kill the driver easily, and take his boat wich is unique, its a blue predator with no interior and its called "GHOST missing"
One of the rewards for "Marked Man" is a BULLETPROOF Patriot
The cheatahs in the race for el burro are bombproof and bullet proof, but you have to push them back to your save house to enter them.

When I was doing "Her Lover" Marty came back up when he got shot, him and Carl were fist fighting and both of them just walked away together.
It's possible using the firetruck water cannon to knock Marty so far off his mark just before you spawn that final cutscene that Carl with stand there frozen with the shotgun and not fire for about ten seconds before it says mission complete and they go their own way. Coming back from the shotgun blast and a fistfight between Marty and Carl? That I have never heard of nor seen. Must be rare.
All these years on and I found out numerous interesting facts for missions that I had been stuck on for ages in this vid. Of course I’ve since long completed the game, but if I ever go back to play it again I will keep some of these tips in mind.
9:13 it's not the song being associated with the mission, it's the K-Jah station playing from the beginning. Stations in game's pre-SA were single files, not dynamically done.
Nice vid. In the gang car collect mission, Ps2 pal 4 had the garage further away from the payNspray, in a tight alley.
On Silence The Sneak, you can also just chuck multiple grenades, one landing in the window triggering the chase, and another to land by the garage door to kill him as soon as it opens
Such a good video. I played this game to death when it came out, if I was bored I’d just fill my evening doing Taxi jobs while listening to Lazlow.

In the ending of Big'n'Vainy you can see Rare pedestrians with black coats on line to get the magazines and walk away.
But they only appear at the ps2 version, in the other versions they are replaced by Pimps.
I like the fact that most characters just tell claude the objective but never really try to help him get his revenge I know it's because they wouldn't care about who betrayed him but needless to say he did work his way up to get his revenge

@@censoredsoundstudios - I know it's been a year since you asked this, but figured I'd slip in an answer in case you were still wondering. Utilizing the glitch to switch to the prison outfit will also crash the PC version of the game if you attempt to start a mission. As AVD Gaming mentions, it's the cutscenes that cause the problem. For whatever reason, if you don't have the correct character model when a cutscene starts, the game throws a fit and crashes. Changing skins in the menu does not change the character model, and whatever skin you select is actually ignored when you have the prison outfit on.
A *heck of a lot* more detail if you're interested:
There are three different 3-D models for the player:
- PLAYERX: The model used in the very opening cutscene. Claude's texture is slightly different (most notably his face), and the shotgun he carries is actually part of his hand.
- PLAYERP: The prison outfit.
- PLAYER: The model you use for the rest of the game.
I feel like the term "skin" has been bastardized in modern lingo to refer to entirely different game character models, which is not really what it meant back when GTA 3 came out (at least not in the games I played back then).
When you change your skin in the menu of GTA 3, that doesn't actually change the 3-D model, it just applies a new *2-D texture* to the _same_ 3-D model. The only model that will display these different 2-D skins is the normal PLAYER model. If you're currently playing using the PLAYERX model (only possible with modding as far as I know) or the PLAYERP model, whatever skin you have chosen in the menu is *not* applied to the model and the game continues to display the default 2-D textures assigned to those models.
All this being said, it is possible to play with the prison outfit if you mod the game. The cutscenes don't really seem to care what 3-D model you use so long as it's named "PLAYER". So if you swap the filenames for PLAYERP and PLAYER, you can then use the prison outfit for normal gameplay. This even allows you to apply different 2-D skins to the prison model (since it's now named PLAYER). If you start making new skins for this model, really the only major difference is that you have on a t-shirt instead of a jacket.
I like how you can complete several complicated missions by ignoring instructions and just shooting at the person or thing. Very USA
When I first got the game for PC it needed a patch downloaded but I didn’t have internet. So none of the text or numbers showed up, they were just coloured boxes. So I had to play the entire game without instructions, text, or numbers. I didn’t ever know how much health, time, or ammo I had. The hardest mission to complete was espresso-2-go because the blips didn’t show on the map and I had no idea what to do.
try it in gta v and youll fail the mission. having different ways to complete a mission is what i miss so much from the older games.

Another way to kill the guy in Chinatown is to steal one of his cars, rig a bomb to it, and put it back. He has three, though, so make sure to attack from the right direction.
In the Vice City mission where you have to use a bike to ride over loads of roofs to a searchlight, I just flew a helicopter there instead.

Cirno Touhou I wouldn't advise to do that, as that will make the game completely impossible to complete once you did it. I would suggest to do it once you're done with every possible mission.

Another fact for Kanboo Bustout (I hope I spelled it correctly): The Bloodtexture is included in the censored German version as well. It may also be true for the mission with the dead Forelli.
I'm not sure why the tank is made to be prone to explosions, but if you take it to your garage, it will become EP again.
I've always cherished Arms Shortage on Android/iOS, it's the only way to get a tank before you unlock Shoreside Vale. Since using the cheat spawns a Pony, which if I'm not mistaken; is not a tank.
6:28 this was amazing, just shows gta 3 has the most open ended gameplay and player freedom among all gta's where you could do the mission any way you want
More on 9:08, the reason why it starts at that specific song is because that's the start of the sound file. In GTA 3, the radios are played as just one big mp3, and this is where the K-Jah one starts.
Also, in the original version of the game, the Leones still had their pump-action shotguns in ‘Espresso-2-Go!’ Back then especially, and I still recommend this now, I’d complete ‘Marked Man’ before attempting this mission so you’d get Ray’s bulletproof Patriot
1:09 -- yeah this one I remember actually discovering on my own thinking the vehicle was for sure going to blow up before the garage could close thus failing the mission, and sure enough just like it happened in your example it explodes as the door is shutting and the mission passes anyway.
This is essential viewing for any GTA afficianado 👍

3:30 you can also steal his car (parked in an alley) and get it rigged to blow then return it and chase him out from another side. he gets in, car go boom! mission passed. that's probably also another well-known little thing about 3.
Definitely one of my favorite games for the sixth generation of consoles. Such fond memories of all five games on the PlayStation 2... 🙏

I always steal Chunky Lee Chong's car, rig it with a bomb and return it before the cutscene where he sees you and runs away. Lol. Easy way to complete it.

gta 3 was so so good for its time, I remember for a long time, I would only get to play the first island because I didn't have a memory card lmao
Lol, i had a memory card, so i could save the game. But still i only got to the first island because, for some reason, 6 year old me was too scared to play any missions. So i played till the mission where you bring Misty to Luigi and then i just roamed around portland forever. So much so that i remember every nook and cranny of the place better than my own neighborhood. Lol those were some fun times 😄
this is what GTA VI needs, more freedom in completing missions
In "Gone Fishing," if you manage to kill the man without destroying the boat, and then steal the boat, it's a unique boat called "Ghost Missing." I'm surprised this wasn't the trivia for that mission.

One thing I've just realised about the mission "the getaway" shouldn't there be more cash depending how few members of the 3 are left? 30k if all 3 survive but then if 1 dies, that members cut be shared between yourself and other surviving members?

In the mission 'Last Requests', if you shoot Maria and/or Asoka, they will shoot you too. Also, they can destroy the ship if you don't drive it.
In the mission Chaperone, Maria acts same like Misty in Luigi's missions. Maria is also super strong and can knock people in punch.

The missions Escort Service and Decoy, the Securicars are the only one in the game that spawns with black door handles/roof bars.
Also on "Farewell 'Chunky" Lee Chong", you can make Chunky kill himself by chasing him off a jetty to drown. This depends on where you stop him and where he runs to. It can take a very long time to do this though.
All the while, he would be speaking in Chinese (most likely simplified).

I played so much GTA3 since it came out I honestley got so used to not having the map icons in it I honestley forgot it even had map icons for the stores.

Side note on Gone Fishing you can get the blue boat its even got a funny name like Ghost Missing or something like that. Back on the PS2 when I use to play GTA 3 a lot I would mess around and ended up sniping the guy on that boat and took it. Sadly you can't keep it however. Oh and you are able to see thru the inside of the boat too.
Hey odd one. I don’t know if you’re aware, but if you go in the barbershop’s empty dark closet in gta San Andreas, you’ll hear a weird noise. It’s almost like a hiss or growl. I think something is behind the wall. You know about this??🤔🤔🤔
instead of having to kill all the criminals when doing the vigilante mission you can take the police car to your safe house and then start the mission while in the garage, leave the car and wait for the garage door to close, put in the cheat to explode cars then get back into the police car in the garage, then repeat.
If you drive far enough away from the Securicar in ‘Escort Service,’ the van will casually drive to its destination without running into Cartel members trying to destroy it, making the mission a lot easier
3:31 there is a mission in GTA 4 in the same location and same exact situation and you can kill him before he gets far in the same exact way.

On The Last Request mission it is possible to do as requested by pushing the car all the way to the crusher :D .

Yep, even playing this mission for the first time as an adult, those drugged up crazy guys rigged with explosives charging at you and cackling maniacally always creeped me out!
