Im in the reborn community for 8 years, even longer I have been interested in dolls like real babies, back then I only knew the dolls with baby needs and had always dreamed of have one, well, it didn't really work out until Corona. I was allowed to buy things to make reborns myself. It was so exciting to finally have a reborn for the first time after all these years. I used some old baby clothes that we had and from Family👶🏼

a temu mansion LOL that cracked me up. Yes I would not have been able to afford these dolls which is why i decided to learn to make them! Now that I am able to make babies for myself I can sell babies and also buy other people's art. I love it and I love this hobby! 😁

I found most artists 👩🎨 and people nowadays will do payment plans and lay-bys and that is a big help which I could never have my reborn dolls without payment plans
I have been watching you for many years now, since before you were even married and I remember when you used to go to the thrift stores and yard sales. This was a great video with good advice on starting out collecting dolls.
I have lived on disability and now social security and I started reborning my dolls myself and that is how I can afford them.

Great video, Tori! I also had almost nothing when I started. I absolutely agree with you about discontentment being one of the biggest mistakes one can make, and about the enjoyment and fun of manufactured dolls. I'd love to see a video featuring your favorite dolls of all kinds!
I like the way you come at this topic, Tori. The encouragement and advice you give keeps people from feeling alienated and shunned. I’m thrilled that you take this approach. My grandma used the old adage of flies and honey vs. vinegar and it’s so true.
Also, I am really proud of you for what you’ve accomplished despite many set backs and adversities. At nearly 50 (but a young…ish, 50 😉) I am suddenly finding out just how neuro diverse I actually am as I am learning more and more about my son’s issues. I NEVER EVER would have made it at 17 on my own. Shoot, it took me decades to figure out stuff that come so naturally to most. So, I really applaud you and admire you for the beautiful life you’ve built. How you manage it all and have a lovely channel is beyond me. Nevertheless, you’re a wise and kind young lady and the world could do with more people like you.

Excellent Tori!! That's how I did it and we r not rich!! I'm on disability also for a form of muscular dystrophy that affects me as I age. Any way and also yhe reason I lost many babies and miraculously I was able to carry 1, almost losing her many times.❤❤ ive always loved dolls since a little girl, and my husband and wanted more children 💕. He is totally supportive of this hobby now and I'm absolutely loving it!!!❤
Our neighbor when we first moved in where we live now our neighbor moved in right across the way from us and she did not want her newborn doll at all now we have her and she's so cute and she was the one that started it all her name is Ashlyn Odessa and then we started collecting from there ♥️♥️♥️
I’m disabled also and I don’t have a lot of money for silicone or high end reborns but I do have some reborns and I enjoy the ones I have.
Anything is attainable if you want it bad enough. You’re right, you have to save and be patient. I love the Berenguer dolls and have 5 of them. I also have Paradise Gallery and Ashton Drake dolls because you can make payments for them over a few months. 💜🙏🏻

Awesome topic. I have a collection of Reborns, ranging from different prices. But sometimes we buy a doll for it’s beauty or artist name and when you bring it home, you may not bond with it. In that case we can also resell it and give a new mommy a chance to own it. Love Rebeca
Thank you so much for this video. I am also on SSI I have always loved dolls. I have tried to get a doll but got scammed. So now I am trying to save again. My family thinks I’m nuts for wanting to collect dolls. I really enjoy all of your videos.
Thanks for sharing your story Tori! a lot of us have started off collecting Reborns in a similar way! I started collecting PG Dolls and paid $25 a month on their payment plan. I skipped going to Dunkin for coffee each month to save the money. When one was paid off, I purchased another & then sold that collection to buy my first official Reborn on eBay! If you really want something, you will find a way to get it and you can do it ethically! ❤
Wonderful video and story. It took me a year to save for a reborn and it was absolutely worth it. Some of that money came from yard sales and money I received for my birthday. Its definitely possible.
Many reborn artists accept payments. That is a good way to buy. Some also sell budget babies.
Hello! I've been in the doll community socially for about 6 years now. I'm chronically disabled. Always have been. I do not have an official reborn. I used to...actually I got one back in 2010... reborns then looked really nothing like they do now a days. But even back then it was $400. I ended up giving the reborn to my niece. Years passed and I got 3 madame alexander baby dolls from Toys R Us. The doll community that I'm a part of locally does 'accept me' in the community but I know I'm different because I don't have an official one like the rest of them have at least more than one. I have friends that make/sell reborns but they tend to charge around $500 for their reborns. I've been to doll meet ups and have felt kind of like the odd one out because I had a 'off brand' toddler doll I got from Amazon. I've even been laughed at by outsiders at doll meet ups when it's at public places... me specifically because mine do look fake... not real like the rest of my friends have real reborns. I bought one of those NPK toddler dolls once and was super disappointed... I also got a paradise galleries doll which I ended up giving away..long story... I'm sorry.. But thank you for making this video.
I’m sorry that happened to you. I paint and assemble reborn dolls, and most of mine are under $200 for the most part. Let me know if you’re ever interested!

when was in the reborn community and i felt judged by a lot of people and id go back to this hobby and collect reborns again because i like reborns and want to go back to this community , i just don't know where all to get reborns
im suprised you found a car seat! they're illegal for us (the thrift store I work for) to sell! We cant take any baby furniture (car seats, high chairs, cribs/bassinets etc) :(
I bought the Elie sue doll sculped the title one I bout from a artist .
I got a cheap reborn that was a 2nd hand one, the seller had to many reborns and was downsizing so was selling cheap.
What team is a nice place to buy dolls newborn dolls but I like Amazon better cuz I know what I'm looking for and eBay is cool too
