Took me a while to find this video, mostly because there are two different climate control assemblies associated with 2003 Silverado. Your video helped me greatly. The last frame that showed the power connections allowed me to do the final test of bulbs once installed. The assembly is ready to go back into my Chevy. Thanks for your clear and helpful video.
Just discovered a burned out bulb under the right side "auto-mode" buttons on my "new to me" 06 Tahoe. Great instructional video. Glad you've got the incandescent bulbs. I guess I'm an outlier as I'm not a fan of LED. Going to order right now. Thanks!
good vid BUT what about a brand new unit that the actual led control numbers are just 2 dim to be seen during daylight but are perfect at night, how the heck do you increase the brightness or replace?
I couldn’t get the old solder out of the holes so I drilled them with a tiny bit. The bulbs are floppy in the hole and they don’t want to take solder on the backside
The best way to remove solder from any circuit card component is to use a solder sucker, probably the tech name is desoldering aid. If you web search "solder sucker" you will see them. The sucker uses a plunger that is spring loaded. Push the plunger, heat the joint, quickly apply the tip of the plunger to the hot solder, and release the plunger. The solder is sucked into the tube leaving the hole in the circuit board clean. Insert the new component and resolder it. The suckers only cost about $5 and will pay for themselves by stopping the frustration of hole blockage,
Thank you so much for this video, it saved me alot of time & effort. The wiring (- +) diagram at the end is a plus for those of us that want to put in LEDs (polarity matters for these).
You can find the complete kit here carradiobulbs.com/store-4/2003-to-2007-silverado-tahoe-yukon-suburban-trailblazers-automatic-climate-control-light-bulbs/
No not even close. The door switches use real small surface mount Led's not light bulbs. You can find those led's here carradiobulbs.com/store-3/diy-led-kit-for-gm-window-switches-2003-06-silverado-tahoe-yukon-escalade/
Went to your site to look at the bulbs.... Are there any LED's? If not can you tell what size LED diode I would need and maybe where to get them? Also my bulb melted, then blew behind my headlight switch as well (ordered a new one) Do you know if there are LED's for that light as well?
When you are looking directly at the controller witch side is negative and positive on the bulb…. Let’s say installing the bulb the left side is positive and right is negative or vice versa
@@hdrjunkie All of our led bulb kits come with directions to show you how to install them the positive and negative are clearly marked fo you. After you make a purchase directions will be emailed to you.
@@Car-Radio-Bulbs my unit has wedge shaped bulbs that push into the socket, a twist lock socket. No electrical boards , and the bulbs are wedge base T1 3/4 . Just difficult to pull out of the sockets.

Just installed this kit. Worked great. Super happy. Will likely order the steering wheel LEDs next. Appreciate the video.
Glad to hear it.
Could you PLEASE tell me which wire was the positive pole and which was ground to power up the lights

May I ask what wattage/temperature do you set your soldering iron at to do this job?
Which pins in the back of the control module are you plugging power into?? PLEASE, THANK YOU!
Great video, right to the point! I just ordered my new set from you! Thank you!
My truck has the analog climate control can I upgrade it to digital one? Plug and play?
I have the same doubt
I don't know you would need to check with a dealer.
the electrcal connectors are diferent
can you please tell as what wires are power and ground? thanks
Thanks for the video. Great help.

Try using some flux

Which wires did you connect to the power supply to test if the lights worked?
Did you ever figure this out?

Do you have a name for the volt bench tester you have?
DC power supply.
Can you do more led install videos such how to do put led climate control

Thanks for the video... do these bulbs have polarity... like a positive and negative side? Can they be put on backward?
CS Day No it doesn't matter which way they go in.
How do you know what is positive and negative on both the board and led?
The long leg of the led is the positive and I use an omh meter to find which is positve and negative on the board.
Hello, do you sell the rotary temp adjusters for this unit?
No sorry we do not.
Can you put LED bulbs in that instead of the regular bulbs?
Yes, I do it all of the time for customers.
Do you Know if this kind of climate control can be installed in a Pontiac Aztek?
No it will not.
How do you know which side is the positive.
These are incandescent bulbs, so polarity doesn't matter .
Where did you get your bulbs from?
You can get them here carradiobulbs.com/store-4/2003-to-2007-silverado-tahoe-yukon-suburban-trailblazers-automatic-climate-control-light-bulbs/
Do you know what pin turns on the little screen?
No sorry I don't.
You make very helpful and straightforward videos, thank you. I also liked how you said dike and tit in the same episode 😉
Hi do the bolts has e negative and positive sides
No incandescent bulbs don't have negative and positive leads only led's do.
How do you know what way to put the bulb, in better words how do you know where to put the positive and negative side
It doesn't matter what way you put them in they are not led's.

No. They are two different trucks completely.

That why I hate changing bults because it requires special tools
hey 13/16 or 3/16 .................
Oh how I want to punch the engineer that solders in light bulbs and not LEDs. Or you could just make them easily replaceable. Sigh.
I should send you my unit from my 1995 S10 , they have a twist lock socket , but not sure if they are soldered in or just difficult to pull out.
They should be twist in bulbs unless your talking about getting the bulbs out of the socket because they are soldered into the socket.
