    Great video! I honestly don't think any non roomba vac could complete this test without assistance because only roombas have the auto empty then resume feature. With that said this amount of dirt isn't reality in most homes which is why most robot vacs can do such good jobs as long as their bin doesn't fill up. I love my t8+ it does a very good job running daily and keeping up on the debris and dog hair. With any non auto empty robot at the very least you'd have to empty the bin.

    We'd all love to see the Ecovacs Deebot T8 AIVI perform this mega stress test! Roborocks S5 would fail once the bin is full on the robot. The only ones worth performing the mega stress test are self emptying type vacuums.

    This is super cleaning, but that is why it comes with a heavy price tag. All it needs is lidar. I think it will battle in real life complicated areas with lots of furniture and tables. I am sure the Roborocks will handle this test, but the missing self emptying bin will make it a up and down run to keep cleaning it out manually.
    Still at the end of the day, this was impressive.

      If you are testing over all performance, speed, quality of cleaning and minimal interaction, I think the Deebot would do just as good as the S9. You would have more interaction with the T8 sending it back out to clean over and over but the battery would allow it to do that same job faster and the end result should be just as good. Of course I have a T8 and it has never alarmed out because the dust bin was full, it just doesn't pick up much after it's full. Can't wait to see how it compares.

    Adam, I was wondering if you could do a video comparing battery life, bin compacity and charge times, as 1. I have a 360 S5 and it's really great at cleaning, but in the real world, it's a pain. I have 1500sq ft, 1 level. I started it today about 11am and it just finished at 7:40pm. It's an all day event. Sometimes it's not JUST about cleaning but, how it does it. Because it takes so long to charge, it's an all day annoyance. Then, before the last room I have to empty the bin. Not because it's full, because it's picked up enough dust, the filter must be tricking it into thinking there's a main brush jam. If I empty it, no errors. I would probably spend the money if I %100 knew a different one would be faster, more power efficient and clean as well.

    Great presentation. I recently received the s9+ and feel it’s great getting hair and dust from both carpet and tile floor. What I don’t like is the mapping app, zigzag vacuuming, and short battery charge. The mapping stills need to be improved. Mapping app isn’t too bad but compared to a few other competitors, Roomba mapping app needs improvement. I want to have more option controlling areas of the house with better no zone layouts and ability to draw divided lines too. The s9+ does not always perform a zigzag, at times, it will bump into an object and go into another direction totally away from its previous position. At times, s9+ will vacuum over, over, and over in the same area and then moved to another section not in a zigzag path (almost similar to Sharks Pro.) So, sometimes the S9+ will do random vacuuming. Yes, I had the S9+ mapped the house serval times, but it will not always keep a path regardless how much it has been trained. I also noticed going back home to the dock, S9+ will be no more than a feet and spin a few times to sync with the station as if it can’t find its way home. The charge does not last compared to my previous vac, M7 Pro. The M7 Pro can vacuum my 1,200 square ft home and still have 70% charge remaining. S9+ will only have less than 10% charge remaining -if that.
    I ordered the Neabot and will compared it to the S9+. Supposedly, Neabot has the best mapping system and navigation as well. What’s more, Neatbot battery is 5200, should get the same run time or better as the M7 Pro. Although, Neabot is out from Kickstart and there website has been down for over a month, not sure how long the company will be around but willing to give it a chance over the S9+. If Neabot navigation, mapping, battery life, and vacuum is better compared to S9+, I will not think twice returning the S9+. Reason I returned the M7 Pro and replaced it with the S9+, the M7 Pro mapping app was horrible. The M7 Pro app crashes too often, and it couldn’t recognize the vacuum at times. The map would disappear, close the app and reopen it will bring back the map. And there is a limited of only 5 no zones you can create for your floor plan. Most reviews for the M7 pro gave a one star for the app. Otherwise, the M7 Pro vac was excellent.
    So, I will see if Neabot is a robot vac that actually can replace the S9+ for half the price. I will update once I have the Neabot and take it for a spin.

      Lou Rao
      I’m interested to hear your opinion… I’m not gonna get the S9 plus right now because it’s just too expensive. I got an I6+ Recently with a prime deal, and I’ve read a lot of reviews. It seems like everyone thinks that rumba has the best Self emptying bin, but I haven’t seen itoo many videos on the M7 pro yet. Adam did one, but it was hard to tell how it compares to the I 7+ and not a lot of other people have compared it. So I’m guessing you wouldn’t trade my current one in? The M7 is about $100 cheaper, But I get the impression that The self-empty bin is not as good? Finally, I’m curious, have you tried a Roborock? I’m considering returning my current one And getting a S4 Max because of the cheaper price and better navigation, but I do really like the convenience of a self empty bin. And even though Oh my I 6+ has not napped out the entire house yet, I’m hoping that once it does, it would be a hands-free experience for me. What do you think? Thanks!

    • @AdamsReviews
      @AdamsReviews  3 года назад +2

      That is some odd behavior from the s9+ are you sure its fully updated? Sometimes it doesnt update like it should....as far as the m7pro if u sent that back you will not be happy with the neabot nomo either...it's basically a clone of the m7 pro. Maybe try the i7+?

      Actually Adam did 2. One directly comparing the M7 Pro the I 7+, But it was a little bit of a draw and hard to tell which vacuum was better. Also did a great video comparing the different Self emptying bins, So that’s where I get the idea that the M 7 might not have As good a clean base? Thanks Adam!

      @@Katiedid-o9m Wow, great question. Although, I think Adam has done an outstanding demonstrations for many robot vacuum brands and models. Like myself, as a RUclips Content Creator I don’t have enough experience in the robot vacuum war, my videos are on cooking & crafting. All I can do is share my limited experiences with two models and then some. I have the S9+ and will share my thoughts after explaining a previous robot I recently returned. I had the Proscenic M7 Pro with the empty bin and really loved it. The M7 Pro was easy to setup. Mapping a 1,200 square foot home took one round. M7 work not only in day light, but at night too. The amount of dirt the vacuum collected did a better job vs my standup shark vac. The pros for the M7 was high with the exception for the emptying the vacuum into the bin and poor design of the app. The Proscenic M7 Pro auto bin container does not completely empty the vacuum, there are some dirt left behind in the vacuum. But, the M7 didn’t disappoint me whatsoever not emptying the dirt 100%, it never held the vacuum back from doing its job. Where the M7 failed is the app and customer support, the worst of both worlds.
      Proscenic’s app and support are known to be problematic throughout reviews and user’s personal experience. The app is so badly written causing the vacuum to not respond or completely finished a job correctly. The mapping will disappear, at times will loose communication with the vacuum, or crashes -period. So, I return the M7 Pro not because the lack of emptying the dirt 100% to the bin, but for a poorly written app. And the lack of communication with Proscenic customer service was another reason for the returned.
      The reason I am looking to return the S9+ because it is inconsistent with zigzag paths, battery does not hold enough charge to do a second round of vacuuming, and the app still needs a lot of work. Yes, emptying the dirt from the vacuum to the bin is one of the best vs all other brands, but it still didn’t justified the price tag for the other issues I had so far. The M7 Pro kept a charge even after I set it to do a second round of vacuuming, where the S9+ barely made the first round before returning to the charging station -crazy. Also, the S9+ needs enough light to map and vacuum the house. What? I only found one review that stated Roomba requires enough light for any of their vacuums to work properly, this is after I had purchased the S9+. (Unless Adman mentioned it and I missed it.) Well, a lot has to do with the Lidar (laser guided) vs VVSLAM (camera based) and if it performs an algorithm or the vacuum is random. Another subject -lol 😳. The high price tag for any of the Roomba’s should have the capabilities to vacuum in low light, but they don’t.
      Again, as a RUclips Content Creator, my experience is in the cooking and crafting world, I had to do hours of research to get a better understanding of the robot vacuums. Thanks to Adam and other RUclips folks, I finalize what may be my best option. First, most of the robot vacuums (Chinese Brands) are mostly clones. Dufy RoboVac 11s, RoboVac G30, Ecovac Ozmo T8, iLife, Kyvol, Yeedi, Neabot, etc.. are very similar if not a clone. What separates many brands is not the vacuum, but the app (customer service too.) My opinion, the app is the heart of the robot vacuum. If the app is poorly written or not user friendly then the vacuum will not perform well. The robot vacuum (most) is driven by the app and will obey accordingly how the app is written (coded.) So, if you have an app that does not respond well to the network, or it is limited in functionality like most robot vacuum brands, you most likely be dissatisfied with the vacuum. Yes, features may be better on one vacuum brand vs another, but the app is really the key to look at first before seeking to buy a $200 or $1,400 robot vacuum. It is hard earned money that should not go to waste when making a robot vacuum decision. A $150 is still a lot for many folks to cough-up on a vacuum that may be problematic!
      So, throughout my research, I ended up ordering the Neabot with a discount code for about $450. It looks like a clone to the M7 Pro with all the bells and whistles, but it is Neabot’s app that separates the two. According to most reviews, Neabot is to be the top robot vacuum for it’s functionality and best app ever written. It is the app that supposedly makes Neabot’s vacuum shine. Neabot is also far less then what I paid for the S9+ and has the same if not more features. Once I receive it, I will update my personal experience. Until now, understand most of the robot vacuum brands with a empty bin competing with Roomba will not win with their empty bin containers, Roomba is the winner. But, other brands besides Roomba, still do a great job emptying the trash automatically, not a 100%, but good enough to get the job done without effecting the performance of the vacuum. Oh, I did almost forget the S9+ with the big double rollers is a plus. The large rollers do pick up more dirt on a single run then the competitors. But, those rollers will have to be replace a few times per year costing around $45 a set, at least three times a year if not more depending how much the vacuum is used. $145 per year were looking at to replace those rollers. Plus, don’t forget Roomba’s expensive bags too. So, to maintain the Roomba vacuums, there is going to be a hefty price tag each year. So, if you purchase any Roomba model between $500 and $1,400, realistically, you’re paying more each year, and that dollar amount will continue to grow each time parts and accessories needs to be replaced.
      Katie, as to the Roborock, I still can’t see myself spending $700+ on a vacuum again. To me, if someone has all the funds in the world or living on a tight budget, spending that much is just not worth it. These robot vacuums are still in beta and needs far more improvements as to what we’re getting now for such a outrageous high price tag. Here are two RUclips links I would like to share. The two videos may help you to further your decision making -I hope so. The first is about the Neabot. The second one is why a long time Roomba S9+ user will not buy this model again after 18 months owning it. Also, if you do decide to try the Neabot, use the 10% discount code on that RUclips channel, I did and saved a lot. I am not affiliated with any of the links or been sponsored by.

    I’m kinda disappointed. They market it to be the best edge cleaner and it left a lot along edges and corners. What’s the point of using these if you gotta go back and clean the edges and corners yourself. Might as well do the entire room with a bit more time and effort. A $500 kyvol s1 can do the same job. Would you like to try the challenge?

    Hi, thanks for the great S9 video! I was wondering if the S9 can operate in the dark?
    I now own a Roomba 896 and am thinking in upgrading to the S9. My 896 has no problems in hte dark, probably cause it doesn't have a camera.
    thx

    • @AdamsReviews
      @AdamsReviews  3 года назад +1

      Not complete dark but if u have a light on in like every other room then it should be fine. You would need LIDAR to work in the dark

    • @ronaldvanrhijn6652
      @ronaldvanrhijn6652 3 года назад +1

      @@AdamsReviews But my Roomba 896 doesn't have a LiDAR scanner as far as I know and perfomrs great in totally dark rooms. Isn't infrared sufficient for this? Of course I can always leave a light on, but because I am blind I hardly have any lights on and secondly I have to leave lights on while I am not at home or asleep.

      @@ronaldvanrhijn6652 the ROOMBA 896 can work in the dark because it has no navigation. It is dumb. The s9 is smart. LIDAR is the only smart one that can work in total darkness. The 896 can because it doesn’t have any sort of navigation.

    I am considering buying the S9+, however I’m confused by your conflicting reviews. Can you clarify? Do you recommend or do you Not recommend this vacuum? In this video, you specifically said “this thing cleans amazingly well and I’ve been a big fan of it lately”... But you have another video that is older where you talk about how disappointed you are in this robot to the point of returning it for a refund? Which is it? Is it great or is it terrible?

    This is a classic case of "Fake it Til you Make it". Clearly this is an impressive Vacuum, however I must say that Roomba's history was all about good marketing of sub-par engineering. They were really late to the game in coming out with SLAM-powerered mapping and AI and their "dumb" vaccums were WAAAYYYy overpriced... but it appears that they've put the cash they vacuumed up into making an actually good product this time.

It get stuck everywhere, if the wheels gets stuck in a cord or cloth, the wheels break. you need to change the parts in it once every 2 month, it can brake your carpets, it is not autonomous, you need to watch it as if it was a little baby, if it gets stuck it can make your chair fall, because it will forceful, move them. This model is a real hazzle.
