Much appreciated. Great delivery. To your question...with all the different variables at play I believe our best bet is to cultivate ourselves.

Great summary Sir! Thank you! Great question... how can we create an enviroment that helps people have the best motives for stepping into leadership? Position = money + status. How can we help people aspire to fulfilling roles and achieving goals rather than having a position? My thought is to communicate a compelling vision for a company/org that people buy in to and want to make happen by using their gifts and experience. What do you think?

Very good Summary Omar. As for your question, I think as long as company is structured to reward those that show and deliver "results", leaders will right mindset of responsibility & helping their teams to achieve those results will be rewarded.

One possible solution: Holding leaders repeatedly accountable to the people they lead and serve could be made part of the organizational structure, even if they have set up leadership as a 'prize', via open forum discussions/ town councils. This would hopefully direct the development of a leader's mindset towards servant leadership. It would allow critical feedback to directly come to the notice of the leader. I'm sure there are other ways.

In the book Shay listens to a CEO who lost his job because of the wrong approach. I believe that a person has to look for the right company culture first and then the paycheck second. The freedom( privilege, joy) to grow as a person and grow others around you in a healthy way, I believe, is worth more than the money. At the end of your life what story do you want to tell? They may take our lives, but they can never take our freedom - Braveheart
