doug's the type of guy that does a tuk-tuk review while everyone else on youtube is reviewing the cybertruck. truly the best automotive content.
Nobody is going to do a tuk tuk.
@@carsandbidshappy Dougcember!
Cybertuk-tuk
It'll take Doug a year to research it's quirks and features so expect footage end 2024.
It's worrying me that maybe he didn't get a cybertruck to review 😭😭
5:06-5:12 was the best six seconds of Doug I've seen in a long time.
Hmmm, so that's what it feels like to have 8 inches........
pervert
😂😂make it a meme
That's enough Internet for today lol I'm broken🤣🤣🤣
😅😅😅
That 8 seconds when Doug tried to find 3rd gear, failed miserably and then got back to 2nd as fast as possible must be the best 8 seconds of any automotive video ever
not when he was shifting around 5 minutes in?
He tuk tuk too long to find 3rd
You clearly never seen Regular Car Reviews. Start with old Supra
Lies again? Rome Roma Ramenten Rakuten
Doug almost wrecking the Tuk Tuk 😂 20:04
the face of terror 😂
I’m Thai and I can confirm that this one is 100% authentic. And in spite of Doug bragging about its modifications, this one is actually lean more on the “standard” side. I can tell you that there are wayyyy more modded tuk tuk in Thailand.
We loved the ones with 5000 watts of stereo and disco balls.
Ahh the land of Lisa
Yeah, it seemed like most have the big exhaust pipes and chrome
There’s a lot of “tucking” in Thailand no doubt.
Lmao "Dough." I'm forever referring to Doug as Dough now.
5:05 Thank you Doug for this masterpiece. He didnt have to do it but he did, it was what all of us were thinking
was so looking for this comment 😂👌
Haha funniest part of the video
He skipped the climax 🤣
Absolutely ridiculous. 😂
@LessDougDeMuro
At 5:10, this is why I watch Doug. This brings back memories of his original reviews where his real and "quirky" humor would be on full display. I will go back from time to time to watch his old reviews like when he had his Caddie CTS-V, Ferrari 360, and his HummV. Keep bringing this side of you back Doug. No one can feature that level of humor like you.
This was one the most spectacular driving experiences from this channel. Doug trying to shift gears, killed the engine multiples times, pinched himself with the shifter, almost crashed at 9mph, questioned his life decisions, but still managed to have more fun driving a Tuk-Tuk than a sports car. Thanks for delivering this video to us, Doug.
It probably felt a lot faster than any of his sports cars 🙂
Doug was having a lot of fun showing us how to shift
I´m still laughing
I just hope that pinch was just on his leg…
He seemed pleasured
😆he looked so happy doing it!
He tuk tuk too long to find 3rd
5:05 Doug just truly enjoying himself in a tuktuk lol
This is the funniest thing I have ever seen on his channel!
Clearly from Bangkok !
I came to the comments for this
Doug: Cybertruck 🫸 No
Doug:Tuk-Tuk 👌Yes
i mean, a Tuk-Tuk is a safer vehicle that has also better build quality
I agree
No misaligned body panels either
5:05 Less Doug Demuro is going to absolutely have a field day with this one 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Saying air cooled while pointing the camera directly at a radiator is definitely a skill.
Can't believe i had to scroll down this far to read this.
Bid’s approaching $3000. 1:30eastern time 11/26. Using your right foot for the brake will get you into serious trouble.
i mean... the air is cooling the rad so not wrong :D
I was looking for someone to call that out lol
Doug the type of guy to not get caught up with things like accuracy. We still love him though because who else would review a tuktuk?
The most unexpected crossover ever also didn't think Dana had a tuk tuk and that Doug was a huge dude
Doug is a tall drink of water.
Dana white thinks because he does charity on the weekends that his slavery during the week is ok
@@carsandbids Kenan....get off the comment section... haha
@@andrewbaskett8581 lol
He's 6 foot 2 to 6 foot 4 depending on moon phase.
This is way more interesting than a another new limited edition porsche 911. Love these types of unique reviews.
911 the GOAT benchmark of sports cars 🙏
Tuktuk designs actually vary a lot from country to country as do most simple machines. In Indian ones there is no gear shifter or big transmission block in the center, and there is indeed a parking brake. Also in south Asia, 2 stroke engines haven't been used in 2 decades. Electric tuktuks are actually already really popular throughout Asia too
Here in Indonesia they use LPG gas powered engine
This one looks like it's been converted to petrol at some point as most tuk tuks in Bangkok I've seen are CNG powered with round tanks under the back.
@@bocahdongo7769 In India too in all big cities they either use LPG or CNG. Gasoline/Petrol tuktuks are banned.
Maybe because a different base, Auto rickshaw in India are based from Piaggio Ape from Italy, while Tuk-tuk from Thailand are based from Daihatsu Midget DKA from Japan
Another different is India's rickshaw are mass-product built by big factory, but Thai's tuk-tuk are mosty built by order in a small to medium workshop because demand here isn't that high due a tuk-tuk population control by a government
In Bangladesh they are call CNGs and they have cages on em for safety. And they're mass produced here is as well.
Doug’s the type of guy to look at the engines radiator and call it air cooled
Thank you! I saw that too, it kinda itched me 😂
He is not perfect, just look at his wardrobe.
@@marcuswhoneau didn’t have to violate my boy like that 😭
Technically radiator gets cooled by air no?
lol smh come on Doug
5:07 Doug playing with the shifter looks like something that would get this video demonetized.
We need a .gif of this
Stuntman for PS2 taught me what a Tuk-Tuk was in 2003 and I’m glad we are finally acknowledging how dope they are.
This is the most fun I’ve ever seen Doug have driving ANYTHING 😂😂
That eye contact while shifting gear tho
Nightmare fuel
Asserting dominance
Doing a pretty good Louis CK
Amazing review, as usual. This entire thing is a quirk, really. Also 5:07 -- looks like Doug enjoyed filming that part very much. :)
😂😂😂
No self awareness😂😂
5:07 🤣 Doug appreciates every 2 stroke engine he comes across
The freezeframe at 5:05 is truly something else
5:06 Enough internet for today
5:07 I could have gone my whole life without that visual
Doug not knowing that there are lot of "normal" car taxis in Thailand is equal parts funny, surprising and disturbing. Makes you wonder how the rest of his trip there was :) Not to clown on the very enthusiastic review though - great content!
Yea we have tuktuks, lollipop taxis, สองแถว’s and elephants
All tuk tuks in thailand run on LPG or CNG. You can see what looks like to be an LPG filler in the middle of the back bumper, and what looks like to be the tank right behind it enclosed in a square red box, at 10m11s in the video.
Also, Bangkok is full of normal Taxi, mostly corollas, newer are automatics like you'd expect in the US.
This one looks like it's been modified at some point for petrol, the filler cap cut out looks like it was done at a later date. Also the square box looks to be a custom fuel tank with aluminium racing fitting for the lines.
Which are the companies that build them
5:09 - Well if THAT isn't a sight straight out of a nightmare...lol
It's kinda hot, come on, be honest with yourself.
the craziest, most unexpected collab I have ever seen
We don't belive it either. Doug is training for a UFC fight now.
5:07 I'm glad to see Doug still includes video clips of his dicking around in cars. I always appreciate the weird comedy.
Doug, that’s a radiator…not air cooled! Wow! As one of the worlds foremost automotive super nerds how could you let this happen?! 😁
Thanks for your work
Love every episode
How is this not the top rated comment???
5:06 - I did not need to see that! LOL
5:05 hahahahahahha I was not prepared for this
I must admit the image of Doug at 5:08 grabbing the crowbar between his legs will be hard to beat. 😂
Absolutely hilarious! Your drive was hysterical!! One of the best videos I’ve seen in a good while.
I don't think anyone expected this collab
Even we don't believe it.
It's disappointing.
@@michaeljcurry I mean, what do you expect from a billionaire?
I didn't know i needed Doug reviewing a Tuk Tuk but now i know i did need that!
Also Doug if you get the Chance review such weird but also older Cars (or car-likes i guess) more often.
I think a lot of us would enjoy that just as much as any modern Cars!
Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps
We didn't either but boy is it fun.
New gif
In the Philippines, they have motorellas, which my wife's family actually builds. They are essentially 4-wheel tuk-tuks, but not 4 wheels like you think: It's an actual motorcycle with a tuk-tuk "cage" welded around it (with the last two wheels in the back). It's much simpler than a tuk-tuk, because it just uses a donor motorcycle which is, mechanically, left untouched other than running wiring for tail lights. It's also a little faster than a tuk-tuk (because... it is a real motorcycle), and typically the passengers sit on double bench seats running fore-to-aft over each rear fenders, so it is much more crowded, but can otherwise easily sit 6 people, three couples sitting knee-to-knee.
Doug is the type of guy to describe an air-cooled engine while at the same time the video clearly shows a radiator and hoses 😁
Doug, never ever change! The variety of vehicles on Cars and Bids AND your channel is amazing!!!
We keep trying to bring awesome ccars to y'all.
This... is exactly why I love this channel..
Thanks! We just loved motorized things.
I fell in love with Tuk-Tuks in Thailand 🇹🇭 as a young man on a mission trip 21 years ago. Next summer, I get to visit Thailand again with my teenage daughter on a school trip.
I’m so excited 😊 to revisit this place, it’s people and the Tuk-Tuks I love so much.
Doug you are the man. I love how you have a controversial dude on and somehow be completely non controversial. Shows what an awesome dude you are.
Everything about the driving experience was amazing. Finding third, then having to slow down. Pinching himself. Doug, you are the man sir....
I'm Thai, and this is not extra modified version of one, it is very typical TukTuk in Bangkok, very great example of how a Bangkok TukTuk is like.
Is it pronounced as in the video? I had always heard it rhymning with "foot".
@@Darapsa He almost got it right, it is like "took", but it is not "T", it is more like "dT". Try to say "deTook" but "de"is really really fast, almost not there. lol
dT sound is not common in most languages. So most foreigner can't say it, (and so do I, it is very hard to remember that T and D in English is very different, we just always somehow mixed it up.)
@@worawatli8952 Thank you! Very nice explanation!
Awesome video Doug, you should do more reviews/interviews like these!
I like the fact that Doug keeps his channel PG. He didn't even curse when he pinched himself with the clutch. And bleeped out the other guy cursing. PS Haven't seen Noodle in awhile hope he is well.
I know Doug’s not super technical but he said it’s air cooled while showing a shot of the radiator lol. Unless that’s for something else, but this most definitely looks water cooled
Definitely my favorite drive review from Doug 😂
"I just pinched myself on the shifter!" I'm dying. This was amazing.
doug this is one of the most amazing videos i’ve seen you put out i’m so glad i clicked on this one after a long day. brought me joy. also id pay to work for you at cars and bids but just let me know
8:48 is probably the only instance in all of human history where a red, mid-engined Ferrari and a rikshaw are in the same frame
5:07 Well, this will haunt my dreams now. Thanks, Doug.
haah exactly
Wet dreams
this was amazing! I could see this being an occasional segment, Doug reviewing celebrities cars with them. watching him interact with Dana white was pretty cool
5:06 The perfect place for the shifter! 🤣🤣🤣
Wow!! 👍🏻
This is one of the best reviews ever!! Doug looks so happy and terrified at the same time!!🤣
Doug shifting gears will be the gif that ends humanity
Really wakes up that 3-cylinder engine... I know the mud flaps are hi quality because it says so on the mud flaps... I LOVE Doug's content
That was an awesome review Doug! I hope that pinch didn’t hurt too much😂
5:08 That’s enough internet for today…
What a comedy of errors during your mile long drive! Lol! Hilarious!!! Great review Doug.+😂😂😛
I literally said out loud “Please stop Doug” as he ‘shifted through gears’ 😂
A short Tuk Tuk ride in Bangkok is surely a fun thing to try. However, it seems that this type of Taxi has been mainly for tourists for a long time already. It’s usually more expensive to take one of these than getting a normal cab. They are normally running around the old / touristy districts of Bangkok.
Fun factor: off the charts! Doug demonstrating that stick shift just looked so wrong!
Nitro cross seems cool. I loved watching the rally portion of X games and this seems like a continuation of that.
We need more content like this! So much fun seeing you drive this type of vehicle!
5:05 Can't wait for the YTPs featuring this clip right here. "Doug Plays with his Gear Shifter".
5:09 is the stuff of nightmares.
For Indian autos, the clutch and brakes are on the handle just like a normal bike.
Lmao The driving experiences is prob one of the funniest videos I’ve ever seen 🤣
Standard RUclipsrs: Cybertruck reviews
Doug DeMuro, a man of taste and culture: Tuk-Tuk review
Hopefully more interesting videos like this in the future with the owners
I won't forget my ride in on of these in Thailand seven years ago. One of the last memories with my dad, who passed away just a couple of weeks later...
You can never forget a tuktuk. Sorry about your father.
This was absolutely a hoot to watch and experience through your reviews! I was even laughing in my seat when you announced the infamous dough score! I hope whoever wins the auction drives it a little to get some exposure to those in the area 😂😂
These are the reviews I absolutely love.
I’ve always wanted to watch Doug examine Dana White’s tuck tuck. Preferably on a different website though.
Doug the kind of guy the enter a cage match and hit ‘em with high car payments.
High payments and 12 percent APR!
What a fun episode, loved it. Would like to see more epsidoes where we walks around a garage and talks cars
This is so unique and fun of a review. More of these
You should check the Piaggio Ape 50, its engine is only 50 cc! There are still some of these running well in Italy.
wasn't the Picture of the "Pick-Up Tuk-Tuk" not an Ape?
i see one sometimes since they also have the benefit of not needing an Car drivers licence and are really narrow so ideal for Parks or Zoos
the crossover we didn't know we needed
🤣🤣🤣 @ 13:57 & 14:37----> The ONLY times you'll ever hear the BEEP to remove audio on Doug's channel... 🤣🤣🤣
Motorcycles also have a brake pedal of sorts on the right side for the rear brake, the gear and clutch swapped around though. But I believe some old motorcycles also had a left foot clutch and hand gear level.
and they had a dangerous name too, something like "suicide clutch"
I’d be interested to know how the value score was derived
A couple of notes: The left and right peddles are actually like a motorcycle, with the clutch on the left, and brakes on the right. I assume the shifter is sequential which is also like a motorcycle. Curiously, they don't also have the shifting on the left handlebar and instead use a car shifter..
No parking brake is also like a motorcycle, what you will typically do is park it in first which creates enough resistance for it to not roll, or point for front wheel towards the curb.
A motorcycle typically has the clutch on the left hand lever, and the shifter on the left foot lever. The engine/trans in this tuk-tuk also doesn't seem motorcycle derived, and it's clearly an H-pattern shifter Doug is struggling with.
The transmission is definitely not sequential, the driveline for these are old 3 cylinder Kei truck engines imported probably second hand from Japan. They also all usually run on CNG in Thailand as gasoline is too expensive which is also why any pickup is diesel there.
all motorcycles have shifters on left food and clutch on left lever not the other way round
the internet: we can't wait for doug's unbiased and uncompensated review of the cybertruck
doug: fightin man's tuk tuk go brrrrrrrrrrr
💀
The TukTuk would definitely be the next logical purchase after the Countach. Just imagine it in the garage, alongside the A Class and the Carrrera GT. Go for it Doug! That would be the quirkiest collection.
Now THIS! is a review we never needed, but wanted! What an absolute masterpiece. Never change Doug, never change. 😊
Air cooled? Did you not see the big radiator?
I know nothing about these but looking them up, it seems a lot of them are air cooled, some water cooled. It seems Doug didn’t go that far into research and just saw air cooled and went with it. Since the closeup and panning shots are done in b-roll, he probably just was saying what he read and then didn’t pay attention when doing the b-roll.
Seeing Doug show us how the shifting works in a Tuk Tuk is an image I can't get out of my head now as tug tugs.
5:47 That third switch is called "choke switch". A choke valve/cable is designed to restrict the flow of air in the carburettor of the engine. This helps enrich the fuel-air mixture, improving the ability to start the engine in low temperature conditions.
I had a feeling it was the choke
my eyes are burning after watching doug sitting in that playing with the gear lever with the grin on his face
A crossover I could of never imagined
Us as well!
It’s actually pronounced ‘Took Took’ in Thailand.
And those rear wheels are twice the width of originals.
It’s another cheaper form of taxi with cheaper (negotiated&non-metered) fare and mostly flagged down for a short hop.
They’re available in some area of Bangkok and some cities only.
I have been wating for a tuk tuk review for so long. So happy its finally here
Doug's reviews never disappoint!
5:07 - Now we know what it looks like when Doug is alone with a bottle of lotion and some tissues .. LOL
We liked as soon as you said, "This..."
Unique & fun content as always, Doug!
Doug is wrong though, In Thailand, you CAN definately get a normal cab.
I have been to many cities around the country and have got many different cabs (I won't take Tuk-Tuk's any more, once was enough) Generally I have got Corolla's and I find they are easier to get than a Tuk Tuk.
