Taiji Chuan for beginners takes you through the Chen style form, also known as the canon fist. The Chen form has an old frame and a new frame form.
In this video Master Wong is performing the new frame canon Fist form and has separated the form into 8 parts in this series for you to learn.
Chen style is much more challenging compared to the 24 - Yang style. Yang has much slower movements and less demanding then Chen. Chen consists of fast control movements mixed in with some slower movements with jumps and turns, from low to high. Practicing this form will defiantly get your heart pumping and build stronger legs.
The Chen style was the first ever TaiJi form created, followed by Yang, Sun, Wu and Ng. The creator Chan San Feng used TaiJj for combat purposes. The Yang family later transferred it’s training methods for health benefits.
Benefits of taiji Chuan
The form will help you learn to maintain balance when moving in combat lines. It will help you develop better posture and use your strength internally, using power that you’ll never new existed inside you. Most strike can be devastating when hits land on the body. Researchers have found that Tai Chi practice shows favorable effects on the promotion of balance control, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness. Tai Chi has stood the test of time, millions upon millions of people practice Tai Chi to keep themselves young in body and mind and have been doing so for thousands of years. Tai Chi unifies body, mind and energy and nurtures every part of ourselves.

I've done this form so many times, it is a treasure to see it preformed again. Thank you.
I find it interesting that for those people who are negatively criticizing Master Wong, he did a segment about haters and those of you who talk negatively are exactly that: haters. You're watching Master Wong. He's not watching you. If you think you can do better, then you put up a video and be critiqued. The man put out a nearly 5 minute video. It's not easy.
Right
They are haters , what have they done instead???
@@felixkilonzi3914 You name an excellent point. The problem is nowadays that there are too many people with black belts in keyboard karate.
This is what I’ve always observed while studying martial arts for 50 years. Each individual has their own style. It is developed through countless hours of training in basics. When the student has learned those basics then their own style shines.
Absolutely, my friend! Your insight is spot on. Basics are the foundation. As I always say, "The way you do anything is the way you do everything." Mastery comes from refining those fundamentals. Keep nurturing your unique style! 💪
In my opinion this is a highly modified version of Chen style to be used in combat sooner than the traditional forms.
As someone who learned a highly modified version of Chen style to be used in combat, can confirm...this looks a lot closer to what I was taught than the traditional short fist form.
@@Girrrrrrrr Im interested in learning this specific style is it true the style develops a good centre of balance which makes it difficult to be taken down? How effective do you think this would be... Im currently training escrima and im thinking of cross training this style also
@@TM-rh7zs chen tai chi is currently kung fu biggest weapon against mma fighters and bjj guys because of the wrestling skills combined with strikes.
I want to learn tai chi, which style is better that I should learn?
he is going to be the next avatar
Lol xD
Indeed he needs a appa sky bison
I am gonna learn Chen Style Taiji as part of my Bajiquan training. This is great!
Wonderful!
so mesmerizing, a perfect song pic, the form and music blends beautifully
This is the standard chen form, at least one of them anyway. All of you people saying its not, there is a video on youtube of a taiji CHAMPION doing this form. This version contains the same movements essentially, however there are variations.
Very awesome flow of Yang and Yin balance. Stunning play!!! Superb!
It's for fighting especially it's chen style
this looks like a good low intensity cardio/warm up to do in the morning
Sensei Young Poseidon
Because of this canon fist one, I have managed to experienced that spiral force.. so wondrous.
This is the most impressive tai chi I have ever seen thanks I learned a lot
This is Great.Best way to keep ur self happy n healthy practise chen style tai chi
I love Master Wong. Still, this may be a full form and has its own merits, but it is in no way anywhere near as long or as complex as the Original OLD Frame 83 Posture Chen Tai Chi Chuan Form which takes about 10-25 minutes to do. We are practicing the original Chen style now at Shaolin. Chen Family Village also lost the Chen Style Tai Chi Iron Fan form, luckily, Shaolin retained it.
i have seen master chen xiawang and also master wong perform the chen tai chi style but there is a difference between both of them.
Wow! Maybe i was just dreaming but i saw bagua, tai chi, guong fu, kung fu , and karate at least... maybe more. You are the Master. Thank You!
Very beautiful to watch. nice balance between calm and intense.
Thanks , man ! This is the most complex form I have ever seen, but it's awesome!
This looks so elegant, its unbelievable how deadly it is!
Master wong is great !
This style of tai chi chuan quite fit young man practicing, it's good for health.
taijiquan exercise can be seen everywhere in the park near my house
in every morning...very popular....
I know Master Wong you would never enter into the octagon to fight in competition. And I know your reason why. It is is good reason too. But I will say that if you did take on a sports fighter they would not stand a chance against you. Your movements are so fluid yet so calculating and precise. I too have been training in Ta'i Chi. Best to you always.
i dont know where all this came from, all i know is that master wong can kick my ass at anytime he choose to and that is what really counts! Props master wong!
imagine Master Wong's kung fu in 10 years.... holy smoke. Thanks Master Wong!
Master Wong love the self defense videos I’m studying for my 3rd degree Dan test tang soo do and my school big on self defense I think studied watching is very important to add to my training thank u

very nice master !! :)
the reason I want to learn tai chi is because I can manifest my energy in reality!no joke
Did you learn how to do this?
AMAZING! I have just found the next style I want to learn...
James, hopefully youll learn from an actual chen style master. "Master" Wong is no Chen taijiquan master, thats for sure! He seems like a cool guy to hang with though
Beautiful Song, Good Form. Great Master!
That’s some stuff dude!
The easiest way to learn this form is fast, like this.just to remember it you have to do it so many times and slow, takes ages
good demonstration! every good martial artist has their very unique style crafted by their mind and personality, he is just honestly expressing himself. Compare Yip Chun's wing chun style to the others and you will be surppirsed
master wong u r beast bro I have a hard time learning from a video but I'll try
love your stuff Master Wong. thank you so much for sharing your wonderful knowledge. Doing my best to learn what you have laid out. wish to teach my children. Begin a family tradition. Magnificent work.
anyone ignorant 👊👊👊👊
.
I know this is an old video, but please do more chen tai chi videos (ignore these stupid mother-fuckers, who think tai chi is for fucking with fairies)
@@masterwong101 I have the movie Tai Chi, it's a Terrific movie, I Really like martial artist movies, 🇨🇳China🇨🇳 &🏯🇯🇵 Japan ⛩️...I have☯️ always wanted to visit ever since my Older♌Sister, scared me & told me she will take me to China if I miss behave. I was only 3 years old kid, I would always say no I'm Sorry✌🏻...
Very combat oriented. Nice. Yes love
WOW master wong you are incredible I sense the qi from 1,034 miles away HAHAHA
Very smooth Master Wong with power in reserve
Movement so SMOOTH it is mesmerizing to watch.
thank you for the video
Your Amazing sir and thanks so much
Thank you too!
perhaps in the initial forms but in a combat situation surely the use of the correct form is what makes your structure strong - but the correct timing and use of strength is actually what is sought rather than disregarding the whole idea of using any "chi"!
Master Wong = Fucking Smart + Fucking Powerful + Fucking Awesome! Thank you for your guidance. Love and Respect.
Hi Video Publisher, please note that the legendary Master Zhang San Feng is not a Shao Lin Monk, he was actually Taoist priest and a founder of WuDang clan and was said as the originator of Tai Chi Martial Arts.
It looks good to me, very cool.
This is Chinese dancing bravo
"But that is the whole essence, that you invest your energy in sensationing vs. expressing and so what seems soft, becomes strong when the opponent expresses/shows his strengt and will and intentions and patterns."... - the softer and more mobile you are, the more and better you can react towards the opponent. If you meet force/strong with strong/force,you oppose vs. follow, you collide vs. meet and transform/mobilize opponents energy. But Wong is good, I actually like his "style".
it s fantastic, i am touched.
nice video,thanks
Thank you!
Master Wongs mind and body are one
Thank you, Sifu
Beautiful!
Ok cool 👊👊👊
Awesome ! And I previously thought you were just a skilled but rather uncultured self defence guru!
awesome video, very inspiring, im curious to who this music is attributed to. its perfect tai chi music
I really like Master Wong. But I have to say something here. First, kua needs to be open in all moves even during the transition. Second elbows shall be no higher than shoulders in some moves. Third, the hand shall lead the elbow, elbow shall lead the shoulder, the shoulder leads the body. Lastly, elbows shall be close to ribs, hands shall be close to jaw lines.
Don't know if my comments are clear...
wow i'm impressed :O
is this a free style or a already excisting form? i admire people who have brought up the discipline to study such style of martial arts. feels even very relaxing by just watching it. nice!
man. I loved the music on that
❤ It feels invisible chi
But that is the whole essence, that you invest your energy in sensationing vs. expressing and so what seems soft, becomes strong when the opponent expresses/shows his strengt and will and intentions and patterns.
Please note that anyone can copy and paste to Wikipedia. No one can prove that Zhang San Feng had anything to do with Taijiquan. According to Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei(his forefathers created Taijiquan) and i asked him personally, Chen Wanting created Taijiquan "techniques/principles/training methods, from the styles of Shaolin"kungfu" that he learned(he was an army General). Then following generations of the Chen family put these techniques together over the years into actual "forms"/taolu.
Do you have a tutorial on this one like you have from the 24form? Regards from Belgium, Steve
Very relaxing peaceful defends
I think I will learn it :)
I mean, all attention is towards sensibility/sensitivity, to sense the incoming and activiated impulses in the opponent and react to those vs. beeing strong in ones dooings. If strong in your dooings, you will perform vs. react. Reactivity is very much sensitive, and so all energy needs to be invested into sensing, which requires feeling and following the impulses incomming.
Wow, impressive
i love this
Shame the film got blurred from the camera walking around getting too close. Great from what I could see.
Seemed fine to me.
the greatest warrior is the one who need not to fight... old proverb, the fastest sword is the one never drawn
Now lets see Yang!!!
ok so I have seen him do all these tai forms before but what exactly does doing this help you with? I have nothing against it, I just wonder what does this do.
You have a tutorial on this choreograhy available? I know you have a couple of others, but this one in perticular is very much to my liking
you know, master Wong, this is when you're most beautifull. I don't care about breathing or such, but it's just the best to get. Please educate us!
Very nice. Can I ask the origins of this form? I'm also curious about how you use your kua"s. Most Chen practitioners I have met do both a horizontal and vertical split with their hips as they root into one leg. Watching you it looks like you are using the other method of generating power, which is turning the hip into the strike. By the way I love your wing chun videos'.
Another question; which form were you performing?
Amazing!!!!! :)...
Music takes it to the next level
would the wu style of tai chi have the same kind of idea for defence??
i have a wu tai chi and wing chun schoo close to me.
excellent
Oh,This is tai chi chen ? First time see this style.
no, it's not chen
actually it was chen before wong modified some of the movements
I am new to your training and vids. I have been down for decades with Lyme disease. It's do or die time for me. I have to find my center now, to stay alive. No doctors have been able to help me. THANK YOU for sharing such valuable teaching on youtube for us. One day at a time.. Ps..(to all) I want to find those same "shoes" but with a grounding lower surface, so it's more like barefooted grounding. What do you think about that? Maybe we can design them and get them into production! Or if anyone has already done it I would love to know where to buy them. THANK YOU. May we all find the truth within, and share Nature's wisdom with true power and honesty.
Stay strong, stay wise.
i hope you get well
Look into Feng Zhiqiang. His Chen is much much better and incorpotres chigong that would in theory potentially help you. Although he is deceased he has alot of RUclipss. If you want someone currently alive that is teaching is methods/well respected disciple RUclips Wilson Wu. That guy is basically the next Feng in so many words.
@Dan L Lmao. Normally I would feel compelled to debate but your statememt screams "I don't know my asshole from a hole in the ground". Congrats.
For those of you who are experienced in both arts, which art is most combat effective? Wing Chun vs Tai Chi.
brilliant
tai chi is a form of art where ur body is art wing chun is form of art but as fighting
I am a beginner so how can I learn this and which video I should see firstly
Welcome, beginner! Starting on this path is about embracing a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Begin with foundational videos on stance, footwork, and basic strikes. Check out "Tai Chi Basics" on my RUclips channel to get started. Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Train hard, live clean, and not let anyone bully you
beatiful and dangerous... thats tai chi
Partly chen style amazing though with the help of that slow mo camera it seem like u in a movie hahahah
Good Video
very nice
Cool !
Well done!! Good and nice fu ckin job :)
Just a question, Master Wong, is this not too tight, too tense and so using too much energy? I mean, it should be relaxed not yet lax, but this seems more tense than that!?!
Ive been training in Chen Style for 5 years...this certainly is NOT Lao Jia Yi Lu
Your right. It is shit. This clown pretends by waving his arms around and jumping. Anyone who actually trains Chen properly can see through this jokers body mechanics. No argument there.
@Tyson DurrI think it's called 57 compulsive bullshit...
@Tyson Durr Yet,,he never reveals his lineage, or teachers, and just makes martial arts into a violent foul-mouthed show. I don't mind him having his own style, but to call it 'Chen taichi' kind of insults the tradition and rules that Chen has.
drop your ego and enjoy the form...
Tyson Durr ok bullfuck
very close to a true master
i am not qualified to judge who is right but it seems to me that thus looks like a martial art form and the other styles of expression if the form are like a nice exercise for pensioners with arthritis
good form
Where does he come from....where is he going....will he find his destiny..........only Master Wong knows for sure!!!
Master Wong would make a great Waterbender
