If the car has had a recent MOT how many of these issues should you still check for? If the car has had a recent service, can you skip the checks altogether?
Q1 - it all depends, I’ve had guys buy cars with a new MOT and it’s ended up being dodgy! So please be diligent on the checks Q2 - a service tends not to do MOT checks, they change filters and fluids and MAYBE a belt, if they take it to a good garage they may advice on stuff but normally they don’t. Also check that the service they have done is the correct one, IE an Oli change at 100k or 7 years will not change the timing belt In summery, don’t trust a service or MOT as a garenteed good buy. If you are local to Dorset I would be happy to help you in person
Please I need clarification. I saw a car in Facebook marketplace. Sent a chat to the seller which I got a reply. I was referred to a Gmail address to send an email. So they sent the details of the car. However, they said they don’t allow inspections of their cars that it has been checked by professionals. I should pay for delivery of the car and I can return the car within 5 days at their own cost if I don’t like the car. They stated the delivery company for the car which is genuine after I check on Company House. Can this process be a scam considering they don’t allow inspection of the car?
Hey hey! I would 100% say that’s a scam. Anyone can set up a company and register it on company house. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t allow inspections. Don’t worry, there are plenty of cars for sale so just move onto the next :)
