Thank you for this terrific video. I had my Manticore delivered to me on Friday night and I could not wait to get out on Saturday to use it. Wow...was I overwhelmed by it. I am coming from 20 year old technology in my old Whites Prizm 2. I wish I had watched some videos before I went out. I am now trying to get up to speed before I head out again!!
Your video is incredibly informative. With all of the RUclips videos out there, yours provided the best view of the Manticore. "As an average Joe" working person, it may never be within my reach to buy one, but it is certainly one to dream about owning. Wow!!! Great job!

Hi, I saw a tutorial showing how to save noise cancel to short cut right hand key, but can no longer find it, can someone point me in the right direction please. It disappeared when doing a factory reset
Great videos. 3 short hunts in a trashy area that myself and others worked previously. 2 silver dimes, buffalo nickel and taco money. Plenty of potential in the Manticore.
Can't wait to see you all hunting with it and how it performs in the wild. I'm thinking it's gonna open up some iron infested sites and may get some deep ones. Good job on describing the functionality of the Manticore. 🙂
Thank you so much Dwayne, our ground just froze so it may have to wait. I didn’t record any digs with it yet but I did have the opportunity to use it for a while ☺️.. I absolutely love it and can’t wait for spring lol.
I'm really looking forwards to seeing how this machine performs in heavy Iron around cellar holes. I wonder if it gives those pesky square mails such a good signal like the Nox 800 does.
It did great at our cellar hole, I had no problem with iron and nails. It’s not the same as the Equinox, I find the nails don’t squeak, nor do they come up on the centre line like, many coins, relics and jewelry do. As people learn the machine, there will be miss understanding, it takes time to understand any machine.. I’ve watched some videos and offered assistance. Like the Equinox though, a slight reduced sensitivity and it barely falsified on nails. As people learn, some will catch on fast, others might struggle. Personally I love it and I didn’t struggle with iron.
@@RelicDirtyhands Thank you very much for sharing your experience, I really want this machine but it’s a big step financially and I need to make sure it’s going to work for me at my 1700’s house foundations. Thanks again!
@@metaldetectingwiththesilva8311 you’re welcome, this detector has a lot more power. Sensitivity 20-25 hit really deep on coins. I wouldn’t use a really high sensitivity at a cellar. Maybe increase as you move away, dig what shows up on the centre line, or touching the centre line with a nice target trace. Use all metal to insure you see your ferrous indicator. Start with All Terrain General, if too much iron, try AT Trash Reject. We had fun at our old cellar, surprised to see a token 13” deep and a few more silvers appeared where we have walked over for years. I think the fact this machine is faster, allowed us to find a few more hidden coins ☺️
@@RelicDirtyhands Thankyou for enlightening me! Do you know if the Manticore has a noise cancellation feature? Also does it come with small sniper coil? Appreciate it
@@treasuretom13 I’m not sure what coils will be offered, usually they do make a small coil. It has a really fast Auto Noice Cancel, Manual Noise Cancel and a Continuous Noise Cancel.
But if the shaft ears ever break, you are SOL. Before when coil ears broke, there were way to modify or swap coils. So now i see a brace being made to slide over the shaft end to add more strength just like coil ear braces
I found myself leaning on the machine in high waves to catch my balance lol. The ears on the shaft are flexible and strong. Really strong but bendy lol.. You can purchase the lower shafts for under 50$ I believe, the coils are hundreds of dollars. I would be a lot happier replacing the lower shaft vs an expensive coil ☺️.
Yes you can, but in 40 kHZ you can’t customize the ferrous limits. You can create a discrimination pattern and save it as a favourite. (Edit) Unfortunately any changes to the selected detect mode will also change the favourite.
Just to note I do not believe you can create a custom program but rather modify an existing mode and make it a favourite. Yes so one cannot create a separate customised user profile like on the EXQ. I wish that option was available. Correct me if I am wrong
@@TheTimijay I just tried it and it worked, I was in All terrain general, went into 40 khz, created a discrimination pattern then saved to favourite. Favourites acts a lot like custom profile on the Equinox. Plus each one can be customized, similar 👍
@@RelicDirtyhands Oh interesting so you can have 2 versions of All Terrain General stored on it right? I can’t seem to do that on mine. So now that you have modified All Terrain General can you also switch to All Terrain General in default mode with changing anything back?
When I went back to All Terrain general and set it back to multi, my favourite was changed 🤔🧐. So no I wasn’t able to have 2. If you figure it out let me know lol.. there must be a way.
I have had my Manticore for 8 weeks now and I like it but I have seen no impressive results. I have not found anything over 6 inches deep and I dig a lot of targets that have good sound and show a good ID and turns out to be rusty iron :( . I hope it has more to offer than I am seeing so far.
@@RelicDirtyhands I have been running in All Terrain general mode or AT High conductors all factory settings except GB and volume. Sens as high as it can without chatter, today was 26-27 and ground tracking on. Today I searched a very old abandoned church yard from early 1800s and only found a 1976 quarter about 5 inches deep, and plenty of of junk. It is pretty good at newer shallow coins but I have not found even junk more than 6 inches. I only dig round dots any place on the center line.
@@bennoah9780 26-27 is pretty high, the Manticore takes a lot more to make it chatter so maybe kick it back a little more. Usually iron falsifying reaches the center line but if you rotate the opposite direction it should be in the upper ferrous limits. Most coins will fall on the centre line unless there a strong signal beside it, then it could drag the target further from the line. You need the right conditions to boost sensitivity that high, an area that isn’t heavy in targets. In moderate areas I sometimes drop my recovery speed to get more depth.
@@RelicDirtyhands I will try as you suggest and lower the sensitivity. I have recovery at 4 or 5 as a middle of the road setting. I will keep trying. Thank You
