Dude at first I didn't trust the video thumbnail and because you were a small channel but after 30 min of looking I couldn't find any tutorial that helped me so I went back to your channel I wished I clicked on you first, you actually really helped me breakdown the song into parts and that helped and for that you earn my subscription thank you
i started to learn this solo on 14th of september 2021. Finally learn it all almost full speed. Today is 24 of october 2021. Thanks for the GREAT tutorial, loved it.
Dude awesome tutorial thanks for it, one thing I would suggest would be to make a recording of the entire solo at full speed, other than that great vid
lol try not to compare yourself.. I've been playing for many years and there are countless ppl better than me that have been playing way less. Everyone goes at their own pace so keep ya head up!
I stopped playing after we got into quarantine, and yesterday I picked my strat and strings broke so I am gonna get strings tomorrow and hopefully learn this through
Thank you so much for the tutorial/lesson! Not many teachers make videos about these type of songs, but the solo is freaking sick! Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to play till I master this, or my neighbors scream at me. Whichever comes first.
Lol no problem! I wouldn't have even done it if everybody didn't keep bugging me about it. I do enjoy teaching tho so I'm glad people are getting something out of it! And definitely keep rocking out! Use headphones if you start to get threats from the neighbors 😂but don't let them stop you!
So you can play those same notes on the 1st string instead. Bend on 17th (up to 19th) then hammer-on 14 ͡ 16 14, all on the 1st string. Hope that helps!
just a suggestion, after finishing parts of the solo it would be helpful if you played it from the beginning as it is easy to get lost in all the separate parts.
This is an American Strat and the amp is a stock Logic plugin called "Arena Ready." In the cover vid I used the same guitar but used the Line6 Helix with it's amp modeling and effects
When you go for the bends how do you mute the lower strings so easily. Cause u kinda pick them but they're muted. I was just wondering cause it doesn't look like you index finger does it. Also this is like the best video I've found for this and you've got a sub from me
It's kind of a mix between my left thumb reaching over the fretboard and my index touching the string next to it, and sometimes I let my right hand rest on those low strings for stability. Didn't even realize I was doing it lol.
It's kind of like a "hammer-on" in that you really gotta hammer down hard on the note, then the "pull-off" is more like a pick/strum motion where to tug the string ever so slightly so that you're actually plucking the note. It's not just an up and down motion, but more of a circular motion. Hopefully that helps? Let me know
In this tutorial vid I used the default Amplitube plugin amp (which is kind of a Fender Deluxe) with the Wampler Pinnacle distortion in front of it. In the cover vid I was using the Line 6 Helix with some amp modeling and fx like wah and delay. Hope that helped!
What if i use the default like normal distortion in this song and play the solo ?? Will it sound good? And please can you tell me ta effect /filter used in solo?
Do u reckon I can play this with a Epiphone Gibson les Paul Custom vintage with a 100 watt Trace Elliot super tramp twin amp? only issue I have no pedals
Absolutely. If it has a gain channel switch to that and adjust the gain up or down to taste. Also if the amp has verb add that in there! Hopefully that helps
Thanks for the question!! Short answer is nope! This is just how I heard it. As I said in the vid I wasn't there in the studio during the recording so how I play it mostly likely isn't the same exact way Andrew Watt did it. My suggestion is to take my interpretation and modify it to how YOU hear it and play it that way. As a rule of thumb, use your ears because no tab or tutorial is EVER 100% accurate, but rather that person's interpretation (unless they're the person who wrote the material in the first place). Hope that helps, cheers!
What Chevy said.. start with budget and genre. For hard rock and metal anything with humbuckers. I prefer single coil bc I love the clean chimey bell tones I can't get with humbuckers. But I also play a lot of gospel and funk. If you end up with a cheap guitar you can always switch pickups. Also the feel of the neck. A Les Paul will feel different from a Strat. Hope that helps!
This is why he deserves more subs
Appreciate you!!
iknow right he help us like no one do this song cuz its so hard but look he did it keep it up brother doing great!!

just a suggestion, after finishing parts of the solo it would be helpful if you played it from the beginning as it is easy to get lost in all the separate parts.

Can you show in a video which Hardware do you use?

Its a good video but try to sometimes show what the actual speed is you need to play because now im just assuming
If you can't play it slow you can't play it fast as accurately, but thanks for the suggestion.
Can I learn it as a beginner??
THANK YOU!!
