Sad day here in Ravenclaw Commons. Maggie was an amazingly inspiring actress. She is greatly missed. As an artist developer-acting coach myself, there is not a day that goes by where she is not studied, or referred to. One of the greatest actresses that ever lived. And for many of us Potter nerds, she will always be a professor- and 2nd mom. She has always inspired me. Raises wand! We love you eternally.
I don't normally she'd a tear for people I have never met, but I did for Maggie Smith....why? Because she was authentic, a true Dame, an asset to stage and screen....she made me laugh at her acerbic comments in Downton and Harry Potter, but her sympathetic nature made me stop and think. Dame Maggie could act in anything and each role became Dame Maggie Smith: unique!
