Thanks for taking us along, even without your regular videographer. Skip seemed a little down today without her. Congratulations to your neighbors on their recent addition. Hope all went well. And last but not least, Happy Birthday to that very talented and courageous daughter of yours, Abby!
Happy Birthday Abby, I hope you had a wonderful time in Nova Scotia with your friends and Mom. I love how your house is coming along. I love your Mom and Dad, the beautiful horses and Skippy!
Happy Birthday Abby! The youngsters are going well, change of collar and I guess Earl's shoulder isn't hurting him or he'd not be working. Jim, question.... has Earl straightened up his ways a bit with the old collar? This is my all-time favourite YT Channel, a dose of old time sanity in an insane world. I can almost smell the horses. Greetings from Australia.
Jim it is remarkable the relationship you have and ability to communicate with your horses. When I am backing a trailer it is all I can do to communicate with myself making the trailer go where I want it and to see you do that communication with the two horses is just amazing. Always a pleasure to watch you guys and being outdoors in nature with the animals. Blessings to you both.
Brenda, your camera work can almost be called professional. You are really good at it. You’re not bad either Jim but Brenda‘s creativity shows. The editing is also excellent. The fast-forwarding, graphics and transitioning make your videos, so easy and fun to watch. I just wanted to let you know how much I and I’m sure others appreciate your hard work with videoing and editing.
Happy Birthday, Abby! And hi to Trudy and Brenda, too. Fun camera angles on the manure spreader. Loved being backed into the barn and being between the horses as they walked.
Gosh Jim ,I am so glad you are being led to slow down and relax and have a lil fun,,it will be something you will have to get used to..I know I have done that in the past 5 years...Happy bday Abby, Love ya Brenda...Please if you can tell your Amish parents congratulations on their new child from South Alabama.
Jim you did a great job in filming and I guess Skippy was at home since Brenda wasn't home. Skippy is getting so much better at behaving on the farm as I enjoy his shenanigans with the cats and chickens. A big Happy birthday Abby and have fun with your Mom, Trudy, and friends ❤️ ❤❤
We were just in Prince Edward Island eastern Canada, we are from western Canada, we met a neighbour of you guys, I did not get their names as they were in a hurry to get supper, the gentleman is from PEI orignally, I gave a great shout out for you guys, the wife and daughter seem to know whom I was speaking about, especially when I said your daughter is Abby in A Drill and a Dream, it was great meeting them, hopefully they can see this post and clarify,,, Love your videos and watch daily, I do not own a horse, farm or garden , i just love this show Brenda it is nice to see both of you as much as possible, God Bless all you two do , with these amazing horses and Skippy.
Happy Birthday Abby !!!! Earl and Duke look like shiny pennies. Love the Suffock Punch. And I loved the camera being on the back of the spreader so I could watch the horses. And Jim.s stories and commentary are so peaceful to listen to.....thank you again for sharing.
I always enjoy getting to watch Duke and Earl working together! They did a good job spreading manure and tedding the hay! Good job boys!👌😘 Wishing Abby a Happy Birthday! I'll also go to her channel to wish her a hapoy day!!!
The haying doesn't seem to end at your farm. As to the tedder, here in NW Missouri we hardly ever have to use it, when we mow ,we leave the grass lying for a day or two, and then we can already rake it most of the time. Mowing and plowing belong to the most enjoyable activities with horses in my opinion. The sound of the sickle bar mower is music in my ears.
What a View! Looking over a Horses Rump! I like it! I love it! I want mor of it! I like the shot of driving over the Camera to. Thes are views we don't generally see. and are near and dear to me. Have a wonderful day Jim and Brinda
first,,happy birthday dear Abby.. we 😘 ke the whirlpool tedder that spins the best..love seeing this pair of horses,, lo oks like twins.( best for backing up together)
I have a Grimm whirligig Tedder two spinner PTO drive ,I converted a horse drawn mower into a pto drive cart to run that Tedder with the horses or can use it with my tractor. It works well either way .
You can see Fall is in the air up your way with the trees beginning to turn their beautiful colors. Down here in Missouri we have many Oak Trees so unfortunately they give very little color. Thank you Brenda and Jim for another great video. Abbey Happy Birthday hope you had a wonderful great day with many blessings!🙏🎂🙏
Evening/ mornin Jim nd horses, how are those gutters working out for you btw.?. [Happy birthday Abby] manual grim tettter seems most wise, sometimes anyway but im just an avid fan of yours. Your loosing some land too, so grim the ttettering. Hahaha. Ty for keeping on a little after you say bye. Good video Jim. ❤.
Duke and Earl are really starting to be a nice team. I don't know if you saw, Jim, but I made the same suggestion to Zach Odom that I did to you. He responded with a really good video on the history of the spreader or stretcher, why it was designed the way it was, how it works, how it is different from a double tree, where it works better, where he doesn't prefer to use it, and how it helps in training young stock. It is really good, and well worth watching. I find the regional differences in any discipline of horsemanship to be fascinating. The horsemen of each region solved the challenges they faced in different ways. I think I'd still want the whirly tedder. I just know how many crops of hay we saved with ours when it got rained on.
I know this shows my age, but at 11 years old, I was tedding with a wheel drive unit just like yours hooked up to a Farmall H. Did a great job in the 60’s and I wasn’t in danger with an active PTO.
Good afternoon. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBY. I hope you and your birthday group have a fabulous time 🎈🎈. I miss Brenda on the camera. Any day the horses are shown is a good day. Good job Jim. 😊
I'm with you Jim, in that I use both tedder types. Condition is the factor than matters most for preference selection. However, I use my pequea fluffer type tedder most of the time, and the whirligig type tedder when conditions require. We all want the same result- dry hay while retaining the most crop in the bale.
Happy birthday Abbey. Been watching your channel ever since your dad invited us to check it out. It's coming along great. Have yourself a wonderful day.
Happy Birthday Abby 🥳 Jim, I've used both style tedder and pretty much agree with your opinion on them. The biggest factor in my preference would be the noise of the power unit.
Hi Jim and Brenda, happy birthday to Abby. She really has done an amazing job on her house, have you ever talked to her about running the farm as you slow down, she has such a good work ethic Im sure she would do well.
Watching you both work so hard is relaxing to me since I can just sit here and watch you! :) Your horses are absolutely beautiful and well cared for. Wishing in October, when maybe your work slows down a little, on a cool evening with some lit jack-o-lantern pumpkins, you guys could go to Brenda's "secret garden" behind the house (so cozy) and have some of her warm apple pie and hot cocoa!
Jim, you do a fine job behind the camera. When it comes to tedders, I prefer the Grimm tedder, one main reason Brenda should not be walking behind the rotary tedder, it only takes a stone
I like my New Idea side delivery rake that doubles as a tedder when put in reverse. It does a more thorough job than the reel tedder and doesn't scatter the hay like the spinning tedder .
Thanks for taking us along, even without your regular videographer. Skip seemed a little down today without her. Congratulations to your neighbors on their recent addition. Hope all went well. And last but not least, Happy Birthday to that very talented and courageous daughter of yours, Abby!

Thank you Brenda and Jim for another great video. Abbey Happy Birthday hope you had a wonderful great day with many blessings!🙏🎂🙏
We used to do a lot of tedding with our side delivery hay rake. Throw the heat engage lever to the left to Ted and to the right to rake.
gear engage!
I hope you have a fantastic time here in Nova Scotia!!!
Happy birthday Abby!!!

If you enjoy these videos, be sure to subscribe to the newsletter! Brenda posts beautiful still shots of life around the farm, woods, and sawmill. ❤
The Tedder that spins the hay is my choice. Spinning cracks the grass stems, making the drying process quicker. Both fluff the grass well.
Happy Birthday Abby
Great to see the uniqueness of both tedders!!! Happy birthday Abbey!!!
Happy birthday to your daughter Abby 🎉hope you have a wonderful day Abby.

Happy birthday Abby! Jim that tedder needs lowered by an inch or two. Maybe just take a bit of air out of the tyres or a smaller tyre for a quick fix.
Happy birthday Abbey,
Happy Bday Abby :D
Love your videos, . Happy birthday Abby
Hi Jim and Brenda, happy birthday to Abby. She really has done an amazing job on her house, have you ever talked to her about running the farm as you slow down, she has such a good work ethic Im sure she would do well.

Right at the Start ,I will say you like the sounds of silence and no carbon blowing from under your set!.
Happy Birthday Abbey
best wishes
Jim, you do a fine job behind the camera. When it comes to tedders, I prefer the Grimm tedder, one main reason Brenda should not be walking behind the rotary tedder, it only takes a stone

While tedding with Duke and Earl, how much steering do you need to do?
